If you’re expecting Egyptian cotton sheets, fluffy bath towels, slippers and a 60inch TV ….. don’t look at Zanzistar Lodge . If however you’re the sort that enjoys mixing with locals, friendly staff , good food with a guest house vibe , then consider. We have just returned from The most relaxing weeks holiday imaginable. The room had a huge bed , decent shower, ceiling fan and podium fan which was enough to enable a sleepable night temperature. There are only seven rooms and they all have a small amount of outdoor space , with hammocks and (very) low chairs and a soft (very) sandy floor . There is a small plunge pool with a couple of recliners and about 50metres away is the glorious beach with a single room next to the beach club , which has sunloungers , swings and very fine cocktails. Breakfast and evening meals are well cooked with polite and attentive staff. A feature echoed throughout. My only thought was that an in-room mini fridge would be fabulous, but this may not be possible due to electrical fluctuations! We can’t wait to return
