We stayed at the Mamila hotel for four nights. We upgraded our room to a suite. The living room was lovely. However, having the bathroom separated from the bedroom only by glass - which does get translucent - still lets a lot of light into the bedroom. Morning brunches were amazing. The only thing missing was Jerusalem bagels which are soft and oval shaped with a honey semsame topping. Happy Fish Restaurant was only open for drinks when we stopped by, the outdoor space is lovely and overlooks the shopping district. We did not think much of the Rooftop Restaurant. Service was slow, We were not allowed to tip on our credit card and had to give cash. The highlight of our stay, though, was the front desk customer serice gentleman, Mark Souclah. His went above and beyond to help us. He even walked us to our restaurant a few blocks away to be sure we did not get lost. Whenever we called upon him, he came thru! We would stay here again!

i was very pleasantly surprised by this hotel, the rooms were very nice, the toiletries top notch not only for Israel but for worldwide, the porch of our was extra large with a beautiful view and very comfortable lounging chairs and ottoman, the complimentary wine in the room was delicious, housekeeping was very on top of their job and room was very clean. the food was my biggest surprise, what a huge variety, and how tasteful, both in presentation, but most importantly in taste, both during the weekend and during the week, we will without a doubt return when we are there next. if you are thinking between waldorf and this, don't think, definitely stay here.

We just returned home from a 7-night stay at the King David Hotel. Wow! It was awesome. It's a historic hotel with a stately, old world, classic feel the minute you enter the front door. The lobby is gorgeous, the pool and outdoor area is stunning and everyone was friendly and lovely. The location was ideal. You can walk to the Mamilla shopping center (lots of stores and restaurants), walk to the old city through the Jaffa Gate, walk to First Station (restaurants and shops in a repurposed old railway station) and many other restaurants in both directions out the front door. We booked the king room with old city view and it did not disappoint. Honestly the photos don't do it justice at all. The view was much more breathtaking than it appears in my pics. I definitely think it's worth the extra money. We had the buffet breakfast included each morning and it was wonderful. There are so many interesting and delicious local foods, and they'll also do eggs to order if you want an omelet, etc. You'll find that they eat things for breakfast that American wouldn't necessarily think of as breakfast food (like Israeli salad, which is tomatoes and cucumbers chopped up) but somehow I got addicted to eating salad for breakfast. The dates, figs and halvah were all amazing. There's smoked salmon, herring, homemade granola, fresh yogurt, house made croissants (regular and chocolate), chocolate babka, basque cheesecake and so much more. The service was also great. We had the same waiter, Karim, just about every day and he became like a friend to us. He knew what we wanted as soon as we sat down. The bed was great, nice bed sheets and duvet blanket. There's a Nespresso machine with original pods in the room as well as an electric hot water kettle and tea bags. They provide bottled water every day in the room and a few complimentary sodas on the mini fridge. Housekeeping was friendly and they did a great job keeping our room clean and providing everything we needed. The only area for constructive criticism would be the room service. On our first night we tried to order a grilled cheese sandwich from the room service menu on our desk but we we were told that the menu had changed although they hadn't updated the menus in the rooms yet and that they no longer had grilled cheese sandwiches. (Kind of strange since it's pretty easy to whip up a grilled cheese sandwich.) We went ahead and ordered something else instead. Then on our last night we tried to order two burgers and we were told there were no burgers because the restaurant/kitchen that makes them was already closed. It wasn't even 8pm yet on a Tuesday night. Seemed like a burger should be a pretty basic item to be able to provide. Anyway, I asked if they had grilled cheese sandwiches instead and he said yes! Something's clearly a little off with room service. The man on the phone (possibly the same man both times) was not friendly or accommodating at all. O my God... where do I begin?... The hospitality & love the staff shows is apart from anything I've experienced in Jerusalem! It is the.most moderately priced hotel (yay for that!), but the breakfast you get is nutritious & vast enough, the mint teas or coffees you can pour yourself throughout the day are a very special touch, and if you need a pick-me up lunch or dinner they make that available to you, too, with no hassle just love, and it's delicious! They renovated the 3rd floor, which is really special with marble floors, a big TV screens and very nice rooms! Lower floors are less expensive & modest, but they're all you need when you're on a pilgrammage, and was perfect for me! Also... this is the clincher: you begin the Walk of Jesus from this very point to the Garden of Gethsemane along Palm Sunday Road, then through Lion's Gate and Via Dolorosa to the very, very Church of the Holy Sepulchre! And this, you must walk for the full experience or you're seriously short-changing yourself! - Which means, you should be based at this hotel! The best upscale & quaint restaurant & cafe is right beside the Hotel and everyone says they ate the ery best shewarma of their lives here! Also... another clincher: the Mount of Olives Hotel is right beside the Ascension rock from whence Jesus ascended! A must visit! Orthodox churches & monasteries are all around the Hotel so again, a perfect choice for Orthodox Christians, and remember, you can walk to Old Town Jerusalem from here or take a local bus! And you have the best wide angle view of Jerusalem from the Lookout Point, overlooking the Dome of the Rock & the Golden Gate! And on a personal note: someone stole my iPhone from the OldCity, so I had to ask staffers umpteen times to use their mobile phones for whatsapp communications with my security advisor, and they were always obliging, understanding patient & compassionate! This is my wife and I’s third stay at 7 Arches, even though the remodeling of the hotel and grounds has been in progress for quite some we love it here, the view of the Old City and the Temple Mount is spectacular! The staff is very helpful, the rooms are clean, the air conditioning is great, the dining hall serves very good food! Our favorite time of day is in the late evening when the myriads of mosques announce the call to prayer, from the Old City to Bethany, for non-Muslims we enjoy it… We have no complaints!

The location of the Jerusalem Panoramic hotel is excellent for visiting sites by foot such as the City of David, mount of olives and the western wall all a 20 minute walk away. Although the valley is very steep so you need to be fit to do these walks. Or you can get the bus from around the corner. The hotel is easily accessible from Ben Guiron airport by taking a train & two buses which takes around an hour. You must buy a rav kav first from the airport and put money on this to use public transport. Cash is not accepted. Be sure to activate your ticket as soon as you get on or you will be fined 100 NIS with no exceptions. The area itself doesn’t have much going for it, there are a few small shops but you are far away from the New Jerusalem, no ATMs, or anywhere to top up your Rav Kav. So it’s best to go out for the day and get everything done then come back at the end of the day. The room is spacious with two very comfy twin beds, two chest of drawers, a wardrobe, desk, chair and kettle. Although the kettle cannot reach the plug from the desk! There are two large windows which have some views of the old city and a balcony you can go out on. There aren’t enough plug sockets, there is only one in the room and one in the bathroom. The tv uses the other plugs. This was an inconvenience as I had to stagger my charging of devices. The air conditioning is very loud at times although I got used to it. There is a mosque near by and the call to prayer is at 4.30am which can be startling when you first hear this as it it’s very very loud! I got used to this after a few days though and could ignore it. I assume this is the same wherever you stay though as it echos round all of Jerusalem. The bathroom has a toilet, sink and combined bath, shower. There is a good stock of toiletries which get replenished. With soap, shampoo, toilet paper, coffee, sugar, paper cups & stirrers. It’s all very dusty and dirty though. The hotel provide an excellent breakfast with fruit juice, tea, milk, fruit, salad, meats, pitta breads, toast, butter, jam, potatoes, vegetables, fried & scrambled eggs. On some days pastries and cake as well. The view is excellent you can see a panoramic view of Jerusalem which is such an incredible way to start the day. The staff are all really friendly and helpful and can sort any issues out for you. The TV didn’t work for my first night but I asked the worker and he fixed it by the time I returned the next day which was great. On a down note the hotel is in serious need of renovation, there is a lot of dust, dirty floors, plug sockets falling out, chipped paint work. The Jerusalem Panoramic hotel is fab if you want a no frills experience. The location is great for sightseeing in the day, with many sites within walking distance or a short bus or taxi journey. I was so lucky that my travel agent in Cairo booked this hotel for me. It was perfect for me. The breakfast was yummy, my room was spotlessly clean, and it was a simple bus ride from the old town. Taking a bus would normally make me wonder, but trust me, the short bus ride was so simple and cheap and was a great way to take in the entire city . I am a 68 year old woman and was traveling solo. This hotel is nestled in a friendly, safe neighbourhood and at sundown...well Its Mount Olives, so the view a 10/15 walk away was extraordinary. ! The staff at this hotel were the kindest of any hotel anywhere that I have stayed anywhere in the world. I know this is strong statement but it is so. I will return to the Commodore Hotel, Mount Olives, Jerusalem again next year. I am so lucky to have stayed here.

This is not the first time I stay at Victoria Hotel in Jerusalem. They did a full remodeling and looks and feels as a 5 stars hotel. friendly staff thru out makes you feel special. Great hotel with friendly service. Ramzy the hotel general manager was attentive and polite to guests. Only 15 minute walk to Holy sepulchre church through Damascus gate. This cute little hotel is only a block from the Garden Tomb and a couple of blocks from the walled Old City. The place is family-owned-- I stayed with a friend prior to our tour of the holy land-she stays here often and recommended it highly. It was so quaint and the rooms were very nice. The bed was super comfy. Even on the street, my room was quiet. Their morning breakfast was delish as were the dinners we ate there. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Jerusalem.

This is a guesthouse so it is basic, but good. Everything is clean. Staff is very helpful. The rooms are simple and our room had a fridge. It is located close to the old city which can easily be walked to. Very close to the trolley and a bus drives by door. The breakfast has a couple of hot items, one of which changes from time to time. Plenty of cold selections, fruit, juice, and pita. Very adequate to get the day started.
