Perfect location before the start of our trip with Intrepid. The hop on hop off bus stops right outside, it has indoor access to The Zone. Great staff, clean & comfortable rooms, AMAZING breakfast, freezing pool haha. If you like to people watch stay on the side overlooking the road.

Picked this hotel due mostly to location, stayed only one night. We used the Gautrain to get to the hotel from the airport, it was an easy and safe walk with luggage to the hotel along a pedestrian only street. Check in staff were very friendly and offered us a much needed cool welcome drink. Room was wonderful, AC was working and we each had a generous bottle of water, if there was any load shedding that night we did not notice it. We decided to dine in the hotels Proud Mary restaurant after noticing it seemed to be the busiest restaurant on the street, we were not disappointed, we had an excellent dinner and breakfast the next morning. Door staff stored our luggage the next day as we toured around a bit, and when we returned to pick it up they offered us a lift to the Gautrain station in a golf cart, which was really appreciated. This hotel and restaurant exceeded our expectations, wished we had time to spend another night.

The hotel has spacious rooms, a rooftop pool, and a bar. They have various dining options, including their signature restaurant (Aduna Bistro). The location of APM allows you to start your exploration of JoBerg easily. Staff: 5/5 The African Pride Melrose Arch Hotel (APM) staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. They made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Welcome drinks, smiles, professionalism, and a great source for local information. All staff members were amazing. Special acknowledgments to Pretty and Mr. D!!! Also, a special shout-out to the lady who delivered the birthday gift to our room. Sorry, we never exchanged names! You know who you are! 😊 Staff makes your hotel; somehow, The African Pride got it right with their entire team. Hotel Room: 4/5 The rooms at the hotel are spacious and beautifully appointed. They have all the amenities you could possibly need, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean, well-lit and spacious. The Pride, though kept well, was slightly dated. There should be some type of assessment of each room so that they are able to keep its mystique intact (it’s time to get rid of every DVD player in your hotel… It's ok, no one will notice) Hotel Grounds: 5/5 It’s situated in Melrose, so the hotel grounds are also part of the Melrose in a way though they do have a pool area, which is spectacular. They also have an amazing restaurant attached to them where you can pick up an amazing breakfast before starting your journey touring the sites in Joburg. Location: 5/5 The location in Melrose Arch is a huge plus. Plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafes are within walking distance, so you'll never run out of things to do. Conclusion: 4.75/5 I highly recommend the African Pride Melrose Arch Hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and convenient stay in Johannesburg. You will surely enjoy your stay while you visit JoBerg. Things to be aware of: Power issues plague the entire country. Places like African Pride have backup generators to assist with making your experience more enjoyable. When you have temporary blackouts, it is because the generator is assisting to maintain power to the entire building. Anyone who blames APM for power issues should be more aware of the countries they visit. APM doesn’t appear to have a fitness Gym on site, but you have access to a nearby gym, which is from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., I believe ( I could be wrong). Go to the front desk. Almost everything exceeded our expectations, from the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out, you feel like royalty. The rooms are big and comfortable. The pillows sleep like a dream and the decor makes you feel like you're travelling back in time to when Marilyn Monroe was putting on her best show. Reception went out of their way to assist me with an extra bed for my daughter, free of charge. Breakfast was delicious. Someone is always asking if you want a coffee top up (yes please!). To the omelette chef, sir, I salute you! I LIVE for your omelettes. We even took advantage of the pool area, topped up my tan and enjoyed the clear, cool waters for a bit. If I were asked if there was anything they could do to improve our stay for next time, it would be a tiny one as this place already goes above and beyond. But, if anything, it would be to serve drinks at the pool. It would undoubtedly fulfil the dream stay. A couple of the waitresses came up to our table to tell my friend what beautiful eyes she has. If only they knew how much she needed the confidence boost, it's like God himself had sent them. Fire & Ice is simply the best! We were always greeted with the biggest smiles and best ”good mornings”, even told how radiant we look even though we'd just woken up. A lovely compliment goes a long way, so thank you! This Protea was fine with a younger more hip vibe but Marriott which is just across the road is more classy. I didn’t use the dining facilities. Solo Female Traveler 5 • a month ago Excellent Location, Very Clean, Safe and Beautiful I was a solo woman traveler to Johannesburg for the first time. I picked a perfect hotel. The location is excellent on Melrose Arch, very safe area and close by to many good restaurants. The best part is the Big Red City Bus stops right in front of the hotel. The location is an easy UBER ride to many of the tourist sites. The hotel serves an awesome breakfast with a large variety delicious of hot & cold foods. The dinner menu is also very good. The amenities are also very good. It offers excellent lounges and a beautiful court yard to relax in for drink, breakfast, coffee or to lounge by the pool. No breakfast was provided and they said they don't provide breakfast after I asked one day There are kitchen utensils in the room with no cooker or stove.

The staff at the Westcliff have made this entire experience truly remarkable. From Reception all the way to the staff at the spa, every member of staff made this stay and our wedding something so special. The food was also absolutely delicious and everything we ate was amazing! to make a special note about Kevern, from the moment we sent our first email he has gone above and beyond to not only make us feel welcome but to ensure every step of our wedding journey went perfectly. He ensured that every milestone was an event in itself and we feel like he is the main reason why we had such an incredible day. He was controlling everything in the background so that we weren't stressed about anything which we appreciated so much. He also made sure that we got our alone time together on our wedding day in the rush of everything which is the time that we cherished most. Kevern is not only an amazing leader of his team but also such an amazing person and we could not be more thankful of everything that he did. We feel part of the Four Seasons family and we are extremely grateful. Thank you to everyone at The Westcliff.

The house located in a very good area, the room is very clean , the problem is that the house owner didn't welcome me in the begging because he didn't notice my booking, I didn't get the breakfast as he didn't prepare for me and for sure, there was no welcome fruit, I think better any one want to go there should call 1 day before he arrive

Overall had a nice and pleasant stay. Was only there for one night. Check in staff was pleasant but not very warm and welcoming as i have experienced at other hotels. Rooms were well sized, bathroom was clean. Overall the shower was disappointing as it wasn't a tradional shower head, it was a handheld shower which was positioned from higher up. And no slippers were available in room.. however it was still a pleasant and good stay considering the fair price.
