Air conditioning was not working throughout our stay. Requested a fan several times kept being told none were available. Saw an employee taking a fan upto a room but we were still told none available. Upon requesting a compensation for the trouble we went through a fan miraculously appeared when it was almost time to check out

The staff at the Westcliff have made this entire experience truly remarkable. From Reception all the way to the staff at the spa, every member of staff made this stay and our wedding something so special. The food was also absolutely delicious and everything we ate was amazing! to make a special note about Kevern, from the moment we sent our first email he has gone above and beyond to not only make us feel welcome but to ensure every step of our wedding journey went perfectly. He ensured that every milestone was an event in itself and we feel like he is the main reason why we had such an incredible day. He was controlling everything in the background so that we weren't stressed about anything which we appreciated so much. He also made sure that we got our alone time together on our wedding day in the rush of everything which is the time that we cherished most. Kevern is not only an amazing leader of his team but also such an amazing person and we could not be more thankful of everything that he did. We feel part of the Four Seasons family and we are extremely grateful. Thank you to everyone at The Westcliff.

The service at this hotel keeps exceeding my expectations. I had a work event hosting 14 guests and they were all taken care of quite well. The conference rooms were all sorted out in time. Kudos to Millian, Lethu, Cathy and Brian. Until next time.

The hotel allows a classy dive into Johannesburg’s vibe. The area worth a city trip - with the train station within a 8 minutes taxi drive, the Africa Museum and the Market Theater just next door, still counting with comfort and quietness. The room was very descent and clean. The stay and breakfast were rather plastic free!

The location of APM allows you to start your exploration of JoBerg easily. Staff: 5/5 The African Pride Melrose Arch Hotel (APM) staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. They made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Welcome drinks, smiles, professionalism, and a great source for local information. All staff members were amazing. Special acknowledgments to Pretty and Mr. D!!! Also, a special shout-out to the lady who delivered the birthday gift to our room. Sorry, we never exchanged names! You know who you are! 😊 Staff makes your hotel; somehow, The African Pride got it right with their entire team. Hotel Room: 4/5 The rooms at the hotel are spacious and beautifully appointed. They have all the amenities you could possibly need, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean, well-lit and spacious. The Pride, though kept well, was slightly dated. There should be some type of assessment of each room so that they are able to keep its mystique intact (it’s time to get rid of every DVD player in your hotel… It's ok, no one will notice) Hotel Grounds: 5/5 It’s situated in Melrose, so the hotel grounds are also part of the Melrose in a way though they do have a pool area, which is spectacular. They also have an amazing restaurant attached to them where you can pick up an amazing breakfast before starting your journey touring the sites in Joburg. Location: 5/5 The location in Melrose Arch is a huge plus. Plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafes are within walking distance, so you'll never run out of things to do. Conclusion: 4.75/5 I highly recommend the African Pride Melrose Arch Hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and convenient stay in Johannesburg. You will surely enjoy your stay while you visit JoBerg. Things to be aware of: Power issues plague the entire country. Places like African Pride have backup generators to assist with making your experience more enjoyable. When you have temporary blackouts, it is because the generator is assisting to maintain power to the entire building. Anyone who blames APM for power issues should be more aware of the countries they visit. APM doesn’t appear to have a fitness Gym on site, but you have access to a nearby gym, which is from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., I believe ( I could be wrong). Go to the front desk. Disappointing. My husband booked an early check in and called the day before we arrived to confirm it. When we arrived at 11am from a 12 hour flight the unhelpful receptionist told us our room wasn't available and that we'd have to wait until 2pm. She told us to wait in the bar and she'd call us if the room was available any earlier, but of course we didn't hear from her until we went back to reception. The room was huge but the curtains didn't close properly and half the light switches didn't work. There wasn't a mirror near to a power socket so I had to balance on pillows on the bed to use the decorative mirror above. We won't stay here again.

The most friendly team and the best service ever!! I absolutely LOVED this hotel! Everything about my stay was 10/10. I checked in a little early and they found a beautiful room for me. They helped with my luggage and didn’t hang around expecting a tip.. which made me want to give one! The reception staff were so happy and friendly when I arrived and they asked a lot of questions about my trip and even where I live The room was a very good size, large bed like sleeping on a cloud. Shower with a window overlooking the city and a big bath which I enjoyed. The hotel is also attached to a beautiful shopping centre with amazing restaurants, shops and all services that you need. I ordered room service and they made me the most delicious omelet even through the breakfast service had finished. Breakfast the following day was also wonderful!! I can’t fault this hotel. They did everything right And MORE!! I would definitely stay again.

Spent a weekend in this hotel. Rooms are clean and the water is hot. Set up as a self catering room but has no kitchen utensils despite having a stove which is a bit odd, although it wasn't an issue to us. our room however was exposed to a very noisy street and on both the Friday and Saturday nights people were coming in at 2am with music blaring, showing no respect for other guests. Very limited Tv channels
