Excellent hotel, terrific staff. As a Platinum member, I had access to the club floor and club lounge. I practically lived in the club lounge during my stay! Service was excellent, with the exception of one woefully inconsistent attendant. Florence is a superstar. The rooms are a little small but nicely appointed with stunning views of Kampala. The grounds are beautiful with ample places to walk. The pool and health club is excellent. All in all a gem.

It was such a pleasure to spend a few nights at this really welcoming hotel this week whilst in Kampala. Thanks to the whole team for your delightful welcome and hospitality. We enjoy wonderful, tasty and varied breakfast and fantastic African BBQ in the gardens with live music and clean and well equipped rooms. The staff were a pleasure to meet and could not have been more helpful and relatable. They went over and above their gift of service. Thank you we will be back for sure!

The hotel is in a strategic location, be sure to ask for the golf course side to avoid noise from traffic. Interior of the rooms is perfect, nice bathtub, warm water, hair dryer and carpet. The only annoying bit was ordering for food via intercom, Restuarant respondent wasn’t friendly and seemed to struggle with English. I asked to use the wine glasses from the bar but was asked to pay 10,000 for using the wine glasses. During the COVID curfew time (7pm), you will struggle to access an open supermarket coz it’s CBD area. I would surely check-in anytime. Price was amazingly low coz I booked online at trip.com

My spouse and I stayed at the Kampala Serena for two nights when we were visiting Uganda, and overall, I thought that this was a modern hotel that seemed like an oasis of serenity in a bustling town. This hotel is essentially a large complex with a separate conference center and multiple buildings. The landscaping and lush gardens really give this a “serene” vibe. The staff was uniformly friendly and helpful, across-the-board. Check in was easy, and we were able to snag a high floor. Views aren’t a big thing here due to all the tree cover, but that is fine. The rooms were modern and well-appointed. I don’t really have any comments about the location because Kampala is not really a ”walking destination” where you explore the area. We did opt for dining in the hotel a lot just due to work constraints and a certain degree of wanting to relax. The buffet always had local options, which was important since we were looking to try more than just Indian and American food. The spa is nice, but the spa chair table had a huge screw going through the head area, which was very random and unpleasant. The gym facilities were extensive, and had a sauna and steam room and plunge pool.

No doubt the pool and gym facilities for non-residents are good, but based on my experience I would absolutely not recommend anyone to stay in the rooms. Calling it luxurious is a joke - it's all broken tiles and dirty paintwork, with minimal amenities - no hairdryers and limited toiletries in the rooms. We stayed 2 single nights (travelling in between) and on the first check in we found in the room: Safe not working No hot water Towels not replaced - just one leftover bath towel from previously and no hand towels/bath mat Only one cup for tea and coffee - no teaspoon As we were getting changed, a cleaner just let herself into the room without knocking and then realised we were in there. We had pre paid so came back for another night a few days later, having complained to the management about the first room and asked them to please make sure the room was adequately prepared this time. In this room: Human excrement remains in the toilet -this is how we found out the flush didn't work properly Air conditioning not working We then asked them to give us a different room that had been prepared - the next room: Smelled bad Dirty bathroom Safe not working No towels Only one cup for coffee and tea Eventually after some pushback and nonchalance from the reception they upgraded us to a suite, which was large - nicer and cleaner and adequately prepared for guests. It had a very nice balcony, although the general standard was still quite old and tatty. Service at the restaurant was varied, on the first lunch our waiter was surly and extremely slow. On other occasions the staff were attentive and efficient. Overall I'd say come to use the facilities but do not even consider staying in the hotel, especially not at full rates.

The size of the hotel was bigger than I was expecting for a ”boutique” hotel. Notwithstanding, the rooms were well spread out amongst a prolific garden, and ours was very quiet, being some distance from the very busy road outside. But a good central location. Staff were most helpful and the food in the restaurant was good when we ate in, though there's a great Japanese option walking distance away

We booked a one bedroom apartment. It was agreed in writing by email. On arrival on the agreed date we were told there were no one bedroom apartments available until the next day. So we were given a studio for the night. It was agreed there was no charge for that first night. The next day we went into a one bedroom apartment. It was reasonably OK but nothing in the kitchen actually worked. The cooker didn’t work. A cupboard door fell off. The oven didn’t work and so on. We were given a two ring gas hob as a temporary solution but it took up what little available space we had on the worktop. Despite being promised the cooker would be sorted the next day we were stuck with the “temporary” solution till we left. 13 days before our month was up, we asked to move to a two bedroom apartment. Staff were happy to arrange that but I was asked to pay $700 for the upgrade. I pointed out that $700 was the difference between a one bedroom and two bedroom apartment for the whole month. Surely as there were only 13 days left in our stay it would be fairer to pay, say, $350, instead of a full month’s difference of $700. This was out of the question, apparently. So, I told them we would leave at the end of the month instead of extending it to two months. We picked a two bedroom apartment with a washing machine. Big mistake. Not only did the washing machine not work but neither did both ovens nor the toaster etc. the “washing machine specialist” who came round was a 16 year old girl armed with just a screwdriver. She confirmed the washing machine was faulty - something we already knew. Next day two men came round to fix it. When we got back there was a note to say it had all been sorted. It hadn’t. It was still broken. So we complained again. The following morning, SEVEN people turned up with another washing machine. This one worked but, unfortunately the entire control panel was in Chinese with no English at all. The fridges in our original apartment and this later one had touch screen control panels but they were entirely in Chinese. I discovered they were also counterfeit LG fridges but that’s another story. We were given the temporary gas rings we had in the last apartment as the hobs didn’t work here either. So, when our month was up they were very surprised we were leaving. “What about your second month?” I was asked. Hmmm I thought I’d made it quite clear we weren’t staying when charged $700 for 13 days’ upgrade. So, nice location. But, we won’t be back any time soon.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. What I love the most about this hotel is the high level of hygiene. The rooms, bath rooms and hallways are so clean, I came across with the same rates but very untidy. kudos to the management of Namayiba Park Hotel I will definitely visit again
