Ulasan The Grand Kandyan

The bed was comfy. The view was amazing. The staff were very friendly. The location is very close to downtown but up a hill so very very quiet. The food is good, EXCEPT the mutton biryani. Don't order the Mutton Biryani it was just tough fatty meat that you couldn't chew unless you want to feel like you're chewing on an old piece of gum.

酒店先説好的：酒店的風景無敵好，在Roof可以俯瞰Kandy（圖1&2）；早餐也還不錯，每人一個set，我選的Sri Lanka（圖3） 再來，有很嚴重的問題： 首先，預訂的時候看清楚，“可住1人”，到店後如果有第二個人，補20USD 其次，Lobby的reception對中國人不是很友好，笑臉相應走上來，問“Are you Japanese？”我們説“No, we are Chinese.” 然後他扭頭走了… 再有，房間沒有很乾凈，看圖4的床單 最重要的，如果你對黴味很敏感，真的不要定！！！房間一開門全是黴味，看下圖5的沙發就知道了；跟前台反饋後，他們的解決方案是噴空氣清新劑…

酒店有點高，幹完活走上去累了。旁邊有個小學，早上看見學生上學還挺有意思。早上被小鳥嘰嘰喳喳的聲音叫醒了…

酒店乾淨，還不錯，需要自己備拖鞋和牙刷牙膏，服務也是不錯的。

The hotel staff received our group with smiles, and the check-in experience was very smooth. I loved that Imesha, together with her staff, made sure to accommodate all our requests. I loved my stay at this facility. The food was really good. Anodya, Hilary, and the staff from FNB were very good.

Expensive but prestigious experience can be obtained in Both in Accommodation and dining. Staff is friendly but they must be trained for a better service. Perfectly clean place , location is nice when consider the proximity to the heart of town

I recently stayed at a hotel in Kandy and had a lovely experience. While it may not be the most luxurious option, the value for money is excellent. The staff truly made us feel at home; their warmth and hospitality were standout features of our visit. The reservation team was quick to respond to any inquiries, which made the booking process smooth and easy. I look forward to returning to this hotel on my next trip to Kandy!

A great hotel- large comfortable room , with a balcony overlooking the hillside . We had a good nights sleep in a very large and comfortable bed and a great breakfast. The bar snacks at the rooftop bar we very tasty. The staff are helpful and friendly and the hotel itself is beautiful.

As you enter the hotel you know everything about this place is just very grand, big, and shining gold. Big hall, big golden chairs , big windows and big golden blue decorative peacocks as a central show piece. As we waited to get us checked in a smiling gentleman approached, “ would you like to have another round of welcome drink?”, we were too embarrassed to tell him that we were not even offered one so far so we sheepishly accepted the drinks. The rooms were big, again nice and grand, the bathroom equally specious and we got a room from where we can see the white Buddha statue near the famous Kandy lake. The first day dinner was again a surprise. We were told that the hotel has less than 25 guests so we have to choose from a set menu. One starter, one main meal and one dessert. All this against a paid buffet dinner. The seats we got in the restaurant was just stuffy and very hot. We both were sweating. We spoke the person in the restaurant and were informed that another family was having dinner and they have asked to switch off the Aircon. We really felt quite unwanted. Next day onwards our good stay started since we were attended by the manager Mr Anuradha. He is ever smiling and ever helpful person. Next day we ordered some dish for our lunch but didn’t liked the taste, Mr Anuradha quickly got it replaced with another dish of our choice without any extra cost. Frankly Anuradha was the person who made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The hotel has a beautiful swimming pool, a great bar. The location is just five six minutes away from the Kandy lake and exactly eight minutes drive to the Kandy railway station. I think they have the best of the location. The breakfast on next two days was just wonderful, again attended by Mr Anuradha we were taken good care of. The checkout process was more efficient than the check in. I can only say that Grand Kandyan is a superbly located and built hotel, but the complicated processes needs to be more customers friendly (we asked the tea bags at reception because the room service was constantly busy but the tea bags did not reach us till next three hours till I called room service again and they delivered it promptly). My humble suggestion would be that being big and grand is not enough for a good business, a little bit of soul will do the magic.

Situated on the top of the hill is the Grand Kandyan. Amazing views and worth the windy narrow drive up from town. Very grand entrance and lobby and spacious rooms. Pool on the roof has great views as well. Very opulent decor that is showing signs of wear here and there but that doesn't take away from the granduer of the surroundings. Nice little bar on the ground floor and a roof top bar by the pool. Watch the monkeys as they can scale the side of the building!

We went here after Cinnamon Lodge, Habarana, so it was a sea change. The hotel looks very opulent, literally glittering with an absolutely huge lobby. Rather, I have rarely seen a bigger hotel lobby than this. The rooms are also quite big, very nicely decorated and very comfortable. The total staff is very friendly and give very good service. The food is good but not great. The only negative we found was the very loud music played in the dining area and somewhat crowded dining area.

The hotel is really beautiful, the rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed. The view from the room’s balcony is stunning. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I accidentally lost a necklace I was wearing at breakfast time, just a cheap trinket not worth worrying about, but I asked at the reception desk, just in case. Our tour was checking out, so I said not to bother about it as it was only a cheap tourist buy. When we arrived at our next destination stop, the tour guide presented me with the lost item. Not only had the staff found it, but they also managed to get it to me in no time at all. Very much above and beyond their duties, I’m sure. Absolutely loved this hotel. Well done to all their staff.
