We enjoyed two nights at Elephant Stables, an out-of-town-centre small hotel perched on a high, quiet hillside with great views. Warm welcome and great service, and relaxing first evening topped by what might be the best freshly-prepared curries we have ever eaten... and we have eaten many. Thank you everyone, and especially Chef Indika.

What a gem of a hotel. Its a beautiful colonial house. 10 mins max Tuk-tuk ride from the Tooth temple and Kandy, up a hill with an outstanding view overlooking Kandy, peaceful and quiet. there are only a 6 rooms and we stayed in the lemongrass deluxe room which was large and a huge spacious bathroom which was beautiful extremely comfortable beds The customer service is exceptional and attentive and especially Nihal and Indika the chef. Food was delicious, small menu however offers everything you want and outstanding breakfast which is prepared to order , best breakfast we had, the chef will do anything for you. All our meals were at a private table in the garden. We would highly recommend this we are aged 50-60 bracket.

A lovely place to stay with spectacular views over the city but away from the noise and crowds of the city centre. Our room was comfortable with fun decor and was kept spotless by Majnjula. Food was super delicious especially the Sri Lankan specialities.

A lovely quirky little hotel on a hill overlooking Kandy. We wish that we had longer than two nights to stay at Elephant Stables. The staff were attentive and as quirky as the hotel. Although on the expensive side (for Sri Lanka) the food was excellent and our only complaint would be the there was so much of it ;-)

This place was amazing. A small beautiful hotel away from the busy city centre, hidden on a mountain top with a stunning view. The staff were very attentive and made us feel relaxed and at home. The food was great and chef very kind and open to cook anything we requested for the kids.

Small boutique hotels are wonderful - and this one was especially so. The staff was happy to deal with all sort of schedules and requests - the room was wonderful - and the food delicious. The chef was happy to prepare items to taste. The only rub was that you had to set up some meals the day before since there are so few people in the hotel. The staff was attentive without being stifling. They were happy to provide both excellent service and local information. The setting is beautiful - overlooking the city. A wonderful place.

Set high above Kandy this hotel was perfect as a base to visit local sights. Our room was super with a large balcony overlooking the garden and vistas toward the city. The food was excellent and Tyrone the chef was a star even providing a packed breakfast due to an early train trip to tea country. The staff were all extremely friendly and very attentive nothing was too much trouble. We both really enjoyed our time here and would recommend it to any travellers.

It was lovely to arrive at this small hotel after our large hotel near Dambulla. All staff were friendly & efficient & took time to chat with us. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was large & the bathroom spacious. The food was amazing-we chose the curry option for dinner, comprising around 9 dishes-all delicious, but 1 portion would have been enough! Breakfast was prepared to order. All meals eaten at a private table in the garden. About 10 minute’s drive from Kandy where we enjoyed a food walking tour & a tuk tuk tour. Would definitely recommend this lovely hotel
