"Stayed at Hotel Suisse and overall the stay was okay. The check-in process was smooth and straightforward. One thing to note is that the elevator only goes up to the 3rd floor, so we had to take the stairs to the 4th floor, but that wasn't really an issue for us. The main inconvenience was the shower. It was quite complicated to use and the water temperature was inconsistent, with sudden bursts of cold and hot water, which made showering a little uncomfortable. We also requested some extra mineral water and were surprised that there was an additional charge for it. It's a small thing, but something worth noting as many hotels usually provide a couple of extra bottles upon request. Other than these few points, the stay was fine for our short visit to Kandy."

This hotel definitely does not deserve full points, but I was forced to leave a 5/5 review on Tripadvisor the day I checked out, which I had since deleted. While I understand that tourism is a big thing for Sri Lanka, this isn't the way to do business and it isn't fair if travellers get misinformed. Yes, the hotel is perched on a hill and is suitable for you if you prefer peace and quiet after a day in the city, but extended stays might get troublesome due to the winding, narrow hilly roads. There's an infinity pool with nature views but slippers are surely recommended because the changing room/bathroom is away from the pool. The room was also nice and comfy except that the air-con blew directly at the bed despite having adjusted the vane and fan speed. Definitely do not open the windows at night to prevent bugs from entering."
