Hotel berhampiran Dvorakovy Sady di Karlovy Vary

Stayed here for a few nights for work during the 57th Karlovy Vary Film Festival. I liked this hotel although it was pretty hard to judge it properly as the entire place was PACKED due to the film festival with all areas and many floors of the hotel being used by companies and displays. It is a bit of an oddity in Karlovy Vary as it's a modern 15 floor tower / conference centre in a town full of Czech old world buildings (I can only imagine the uproar when they planned it). So it's a hotel that also has Spa / Medical Treatment / Swimming pool, thermal pool / pool party / conference centre and restaurants. It seems to be modern by local standards - I was in a superior room with a balcony on the 13th floor with great views. The room had all the mod cons available in most decent hotels, good wi-fi, USB Power outlets, nice firm bed, good regular housekeeping. One thing I noticed was that the beds didn't have a separate sheet, only a fitted sheet and then a throw over dooner - no big deal, just different. Downstairs restaurant doing breakfast / lunch / dinner with a lot of options and really good wait staff. There's a large separate building (accessed by hill climbing elevator) that has an outdoor heated pool, thermal pool, saunas, change facilities - there was also a Pool Party with DJ, bar etc on the weekend days / nights (I assume that's just in summer or just during the film festival). I believe you get complimentary access to the pools /saunas for a couple of hours every day of your stay - I used it every morning for laps, it was great. In the pool complex there's also a decent restaurant with amazing views. As I said, the place was packed and the staff all seemed to handle it well. Everything you could want outside the hotel is a short walk away and there's SO many restaurants / bars etc to choose from. Karlovy Vary wasn't on my list of places to visit, but now that I've been there I'd consider going back.

Pleasantly surprised by the hotel, which is really 4 villas inter joined. Room was spacious and elegant. Large pool, 2 saunas and pools. Room to sit outside in garden. Food was good. Really excellent breakfast buffet and dinner buffet was surprisingly good, though little expensive. Dining room self lacks charm. Very zealous staff who clear everything swiftly. Hotel was quite empty so plenty of room. If full may feel crowded. Parking is a bit expensive but little other choice nearby. Center is 10-15 min walk away. Felt nice to be able to leave the busyness behind, retreating up the hill to the hotel. A treat to stay here, feeling like a fairytale park in the hills.

The hotel is located happily, just in the middle of the central promenade. The check-in is quick. The staff is OK. The house is old but quite renovated with soft carpets in the corridors that remove noise outside the room. There is a small lift to bring the suitcases up. Despite crowds outside the noise is not at all heard in the room due to the double layers windows protection. No bath, only shower. In the bathroom a few towel hooks and a shelf would come in handy. Found missing. We did not switch on TV in the room. The beds are too soft, the linen is too noisy when you turn in the bed, waking up the neighborough. The blankets are too hot for the summer time. All these resulted in our inability to sleep at nite. The breakfast was merely bad, with a very little choice. You get stale within 2 days. It was the worst breakfast we remember: untasty sausage, dab coffee from a machine. We were always running out of bread, butter, etc. and none among the service men there to help us herewith. We would choose the hotel again with a better bed quality and much improved breakfast. If not, we do not recommend La Bohemia, in spite of a very fortunate location of the romatic hotel.

We stayed at the Hotel Romance for 4 days and we felt totally comfortable! Our room was spacious, with a big, cozy bed, a living area with very comfortable armchairs! and a small balcony. The bathroom was ok, but it was rather stressful to climb in and out of the high and narrow bathtub to take a shower. Our room was cleaned efficiently and promptly every morning. Breakfast was the highlight of the day. Such a vast variety of cold and warm dishes, salads, cakes, cheeses, joghurt and muesli - nothing was missing. The staff did a marvellous job in replenishing, in taking plates away, and setting tables new after guests left. A big thank you to them for their attentive and friendly service! We can highly recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Атлантик Палас - такой острово между Вржидло, речкой Теплой, театром, костелом и частью курортного променада. В нем все отлично - ни единого нарекания. Стандартов в стандартном понимании просто нет, еда прекрасная, уборка отличная, рецепция отзывчивая, лифт не напрягал, расположение радовало. Единственный ”минус” отеля - по правую руку в нем расположена пекарня-трдельня, а по левую - умопомрачительная кондитерская. Ну это же мука для тех, кто планировал в Варах похудеть. В общем, из Карловых Вар, а именно из Атлантик-Палас Я возвращаюсь с тремя лишними килограммами и твердым намерением вернуться, Бог даст, именно сюда

The building is impressive, enthroned up on the east hillside of Karlovy Vary. Habsburgian vibes reminiscent of ancient days. Imperial is in good condition and nicely renovated. The scale of the building is huge and dimensioned for thousands of guests. Walking around takes quite a bit of time but with lesser amount of guests than the mentioned thousand, it feels quite lonely to stroll the corridors... The public areas are mostly beautiful, but the five official stars... no, unfortunately not. What is lacking? Well, the scale of the property demands to keep it running. To keep it running you have to have a lot of guests. Thus, you have to attract people who not usually are in the ”five star category”. And so they (try to) do. Many things turn to ”cantina” standard in respect of both the reception and ”handling” of the guests and the dining options. Very tired staff at check in. One example: in the main lobby there are only two elevators, whereof one at our visit was out of order. Another elevator in another part of the hotel did not serve all the floors. Nah.... Rooms are renovated and just fine. All amenities and a good night's sleep in comfy beds. Nice with a small balcony. For those having some sort of boarding agreement, dinner is served as a buffet dinner in the magnificent ”Prague restaurant” with lavish decoration. A buffet is hardly a concept in a real five star hotel and we consequently had dinner in the more intimate ”Restaurant Paris” - see my separate review. In ”Prague” breakfast is also served, which proved to be a great gathering of all the hotel guests at the same time. More like a school cantina than a five star hotel. Everything in place though, and most thing you would want is there to find. Queues to the coffee machines... Parking was ”doen the hill” and we ended up parking on a tennis court (!). OK - no problem, but not in the ballpark of attending staff helping you with the parking facilities. Staff correct and polite. But very stiff. And tired. Many steps behind service of a true 5-star. It's about price/performance. We had the opportunity to stay at three different hotels at Karlovy Vary during our stay. And one of those was the Grandhotel Pupp, which we considered to be much more lika a true five star. AND they are/were cheaper! So, you may well stay at Imperial, just for the sake of the building's eminent history and athmosphere. But be aware that days gone by since the turn of the century does not apply in the respecto of ”grand” anymore.

Věry lovely hotel. City Center , gorgeous swimming pool with amazing view, great breakfast. Very Good Wellness zone and exclusive Thaj massage, which I really liked. The Best weekend stay I can reccommend

С отелем «Дворжак» мы познакомились ещё в 2006, когда впервые приехали на отдых в Карловые Вары. Получая в последующие годы открытки к праздникам, удивлялись, насколько все организовано. Начиная с 2021 приезжаем сюда ежегодно всей семьей. На Рецепшен Виолетта и Наталья всегда с радостью и улыбкой помогут решить любые возникающие вопросы. В ресторане Миша, Элишка и Томаш накормят вкусно и взрослых, и маленьких гостей, а Радка с Иванной обслужат просто великолепно. Им очень здорово помогают Ангелина, Наталья и Мария. В номерах Оксана уберет быстро и тогда, когда это удобно. В этом году лечение выполняет профессиональная команда: Ида, Александр, Штефан, Яна, Петра, которые уже на старте лечат своим вниманием и желанием помочь. В этом году День рождения моего сына в отеле «Дворжак» благодаря Марике был организован прекрасно. Starting with the location, city centre and main attractions in walking distance. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The kitchen has everithing you need for a longer stay (dishes, cooking accessories, microwave, fridge, dishwasher etc.), there is also a washing machine. Plenty of space to stow away the luggage. Easy and uncomplicated checkin & checkout. I can definetely recommend this place.
