The property is very charming and the photos shown are true to actual. Location is a bit far from the station so best to arrange the shuttle bus service or take a cab.
Room is neat and cosy and the private onsen is a nice bonus.
Breakfast is lovely and the fresh vegetables were amazing however the dinner was a let down as it wasn’t served in the restaurant. Instead we were provided with a voucher for redemption at the bar. The food is just average, beef was not very fresh, and your clothes and hair reek of smell after dinner as they cook the food right at the bar.

住宿地點在離車站有點距離的山上，
如果沒有自行開車的背包客，我覺得比較不方便
除此之外，雖然飯店很像家庭式的旅館
但是入住後會發現，床單跟設施都整理得非常的乾淨
除了廁所在外面，有一點不方便之外
其實是一個蠻舒適的房間
清晨走出去散步，空氣很好，就像在山上
好壞情自己去做選擇

This was the only English-run hotel we stayed at during our 4 week trip. Stayed for 2 nights. We're English, but even we thought it was eccentric - in a good way! Chris was really helpful beforehand, met us at the station, and then gave us loads of advice and info during our stay, took us places up in the hills so we could walk back, etc. etc. The basics: The rooms were comfortable, spotlessly clean, the food was excellent, interesting decor, great British music and chat ( with some AC/DC from the Aussie chef). Plus: Chef made home-made jaffa cakes which were the best you'll ever have. Turtle Doves on the bird table. All felt very relaxed and easy - just what we needed after our 8 hour shinkansen journey from Hokkaido. Thoroughly recommended

食事では、子供が好きなものがたくさん並び、お腹をすかせた子どもたちは心ゆくまで食べられます。大人にありがたかったのが、食事だけでなく、お酒も飲み放題で、余計な会計をせず、好きなだけ飲めます。
お風呂は大浴場あり(もちろん規模は小さいです)
部屋も1人1台ベッドに眠ることができ、疲れた体を休めるにはありがたいです。
また、チェックイン時に予約サイトですべて大人料金の設定になってしまっていたのですが、当日にわかった時点で設定を直してくれ、予定より安くしてくれました！
また、利用したいです。

別墅在很安靜的別墅羣當中，空氣非常好。從輕井澤站出來可以坐到湯川的巴士，下車走不到10分鐘就到。或者坐しなの鉄道一個站到中輕井澤，然後步行17分鐘。這個路徑晚上不推薦，因為會經過一段沒有燈的小巷，還有墓地。酒店是幾乎全自助形式，床褥被子自己疊。每個房間都有衛生間，當洗澡是公用澡堂，澡堂不大可以2人一起洗，3人就有點擠了。酒店最近的便利店走路10分鐘，這裏的711營業時間是早上6點到晚上11點，便利店旁邊上7分鐘距離就是石之教堂。性價比來說算很不錯了。酒店門口的單車可以租，具體要跟前台確認。

This is a stunning property and all around excellent place to stay with one caveat. The amenities are excellent, the grounds tranquil and gorgeous. The library was a nice place to chill, has snacks all day, whisky an sake/champagne in the evening to enjoy a nightcap, special little treats outside in the garden etc. The onsen was magic and the nature trail to connect you to the forest and surrounding areas was delightful. The staff was incredible, attentive, and kind. Anything we needed they happily accommodated. We had a treatment at the spa And the kaiseki dinner with sake pairing which were both lovely and worth the expense. But the rooms may not live up to your expectations. We rented a junior maisonette for our family of four. While what is pictured on the website is lovely and inviting, what we got was a two story townhouse in the middle of a three-plex that felt a little old, was at the edge of the property, and faced a road that was hidden by a tall fence. Had I know this is what I was getting I would have definitely chosen differently and probably not stayed here. Because for as expensive this property is I expected the actual room to be far superior than what it was. But if you can secure one of the better rooms on the water then I say go for it.

Upon our arrival at the hotel, the staff immediately greeted us and efficiently handled our luggage straight from the trunk. The lobby was notably spacious, featuring a modern yet warm ambiance. To our delight, we were welcomed with delicious drinks that were perfect for the snowy day. The staff were patient and thorough as they introduced us to the hotel's facilities, making us feel truly special.
Dining Experience
The dinner consisted of delightful Western cuisine, with every dish tasting superb. Despite not being fluent in English, our waiter was cheerful and made every effort to engage in conversation, enhancing our dining experience. A small note for future visits: the heating was a bit strong during our meal, making it slightly uncomfortable. Breakfast was a diverse buffet with numerous healthy options—so many that we couldn't try them all! Both meals were enjoyed by a window, providing us with beautiful views of the hotel surroundings.
Room and Amenities
Our room was a fusion of modern design and practicality, offering ample storage and bright spaces. It was impeccably clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable. We had a river view room; although the river was mostly obscured by snowy trees and had a low flow due to winter, the snowy landscape compensated beautifully.
Public Onsen
The hotel features a public onsen, which we unfortunately missed due to its early closing time and our own exhaustion. This was a slight disappointment as we were looking forward to experiencing it.
Special Moments
On our last day, when retrieving our car covered in snow, the staff offered to clear it for us. Opting to do it ourselves for the fun of the experience, the staff enthusiastically captured videos and photos, turning a simple moment into a cherished memory.
We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. The attention to detail, the proactive and friendly staff, and the overall quality of service made our visit unforgettable. I have already recommended this hotel to a friend visiting Karuizawa this summer, and we plan to return ourselves on our next trip.

PPengguna TetamuThe front desk 竹村, on June 18th 10:50, she told us there’s no pick up service after check out (there is), without offering any assistance to deliver our bags to the station. We feel that the staffs are poorly trained when it comes to the hotel facility nor their communication skills. The hotel itself is highly enjoyable especially the hot spring! Everything is brand new and the surroundings are epic! I’m sorry to have to minus one star because of 竹村’s poor reaction to customers’ requests.

PPengguna TetamuOur stay at the hotel was great! Being a Marriott Bonvoy member allowed us a nice upgrade for our room. Onsite staff spoke English very well. The room was very orderly and spacious. Also, this Marriott was one of the few hotels I have been to that had the room allergy ready when I told them I was allergic to feathers on the reservation. The free beverages (beer, wine, cocktails, juice, and soda) and hot meals during the membership lounge time were nice. The public bath was very clean and relaxing. The management team went above and beyond! We asked the doorman to arrange a taxi to get to a local restaurant. Instead, he worked with the assistant manager, who told us he would personally drive us to the restaurant (even included a return trip!) The breakfast buffet was excellent and had both American and Japanese fare. I will recommend this hotel to any of my friends or family who visit the area.

AAthena Ngan CinThough abit far from Karuizawa station, but the moment you entered into the hotel it makes you feel like it's all worth it. The size of the room is something not what you'd expect from a typical Japanese hotel, it's really spacious and the moment you entered the suite they provided umbrella in the front of the door for their guest to use. The room is really clean, they offered nicely folded pajamas for the visitors as well as and provided all the sanitary kits you need right inside the room!
Next day we were greeted warmly by the reception (that speaks really good English) and she helped us order a taxi to get around to our next stop.
Too bad we only get to stay for one night, will definitely come again when we visit Karuizawa again!

The stay actually started off bumpy with some misunderstanding of our reservation that had us cramped into a small room with no possibility of adding a roll-away. The young woman who checked us in said there was nothing she could do, so we took her for her word and proceeded to our room. When we got to our room, we realized that we would end up with a disastrous stay contrary to what we were expecting--a wonderful and serene one--as the room was way too small. When the bell person (Rajesh) brought our luggage, we informed him, that the room would not work for our family of four. Though it was not his responsibility per se, Rajesh immediately went to work to seek out any other options we could have to accompany us and, long story short, he helped us stay in a bigger room that was more appropriate--though considered a downgrade. The fact that a bell person would go out of his realm of responsibility to meet our needs was truly appreciated allowing us all to fully enjoy our stay. We ended up having dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant and fully appreciated the friendliness and service of the restaurant staff as well as the healthy, delicious, and local foods that were served. There is no doubt we would return to stay there again thanks to Rajesh and his excellent customer service!

PPanguinThe town is known for being chic as it counts celebrities, artists, actors and musicians as its residents. The hotel is in that line. The entrance itself is somewhat muted in tone. But staff are warm and friendly. They helped carry our luggage to the second floor annexe (which still has no elevator) and then back down when we checked out. The room was the most spacious (ok, we were upgraded) and it had a humifier. Toiletries were good quality. The restaurant itself is a good French one. It's too bad we could not sample it but we had a taste of it at breakfast. The pastries were so good we ended up asking for more croissant and bread. I learnt later that many of its cooks have gone on to be chefs all over Japan. There is a small gift shop of some jams and honey made on the hotel grounds. Yes, highly recommended.

PPengguna TetamuMy mum and I really enjoyed our time at Hotel Marroad Karuizawa. The rooms were the most spacious we had ever come across in Japan and we could both open our suitcases comfortably. They were very clean and the beds were comfortable. The service staff were very professional and helpful as well. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet on one of our mornings there. Some of the drawbacks: the hotel is older in terms of style and design, although extremely well-maintained. Our room was on the floor above the lobby and there was no elevator, and there was no elevator or ramp from the hotel driveway to the lobby upstairs. The concierge was very kind to help us with our luggage, however. Overall, strongly recommended!

PPengguna TetamuIt is a 2-floor hotel with hot spring for the guests to enjoy. Though the staff speak little English, but they try their best to communicate. I enjoy most the food they offer. The package includes breakfast and dinner. To my surprise, the dinner is a 5-course french cuisine with coffee at the end. The quality is high not only the food but service. The breakfast is mixed with French and Japanese style. Main course is french and served, and the Japanese food and drink is in buffet style.
I learnt that some people may find the location is not very convenient. However, the hotel provides shuttle bus service to and from the train station. Kindly make reservation in advance and the transport is well managed. If you love a relaxing and quiet holiday in Karuiazawa, this hotel is a good choice.
