Featured Kauai Island Vacation Rentals

We stayed in condo #231, on the third floor. The grounds are beautiful, as is the condo we stayed in. We had a stunning view of the ocean, which we enjoyed from our deck overlooking the pool and grounds. Everything was absolutely lovely! The bed is comfortable, both air conditioning units worked wonderfully in both the living room and the bedroom. They were so appreciated when the offshore hurricane made it too windy to leave the windows open. My only complaint, which is very small, is that there are only four plates and four dinner forks in the kitchen. There are plenty of cups, glasses, spoons and knives, but having only a limited number of plates and forks became a daily annoyance. We hand washed the forks and bought paper plates so we didn't have to run an almost empty dishwasher every day. This is a luxury condo, and we felt having an adequate supply of dishes should be expected.

We were referred to Lae Nani by a friend. Instead of going through Air BNB or VRBO, we booked through Outrigger, which as it turns out, only manages 2 units! First of all, I was verbally told the unit had air conditioning - it did not. Due to health issues, I would never have booked a unit without it. I am not a neat freak by any means, but this unit was dirty and dated. The carpet was filthy, there was paint peeling from the kitchen cabinets and we had ghost ants! There was dirt and rust around the windows. Desperately needs updating. The property itself is BEAUTIFUL! Fabulous landscaping. Lovely pool. Great view of the ocean and great access. It was our first time in Kauai and we loved it and the property, just not the unit we rented. Will definitely go back, but not to this unit.

Arriving at night, the complex is very dark. Arrival Instructions need to be more detailed, like 'after entering the gate make an immediate turn to the right & go up the incline even though the arrow points out, not in.’ Someone needs to be available after hours to answer calls. If we hadn’t gotten out & walked around to every building we would not have been able to get in to our unit. I’m sure the owner pays for a management company & an after hours number needs to be answered. We arrived around 8PM & didn’t get a response until the next day. So nice to have a lending library by the coin laundry as well as books & games inside the unit Bed is comfortable but pillows not so much. Kitchen faucet must be turned to cold to stop the flow of water Master bath needs a light that allows you to see - it is very dark There is no stopper in tub so you cannot use the tub for a bath. Having large fans in every room certainly helps cool the unit but doesn’t it show that you really need a/c? The fans, detract from the beauty of the unit & are not shown in the rental photos. Neither is the window a/c located in the living room. Lanai lovely furniture though the pillow on the footstool is in need of repair. Gorgeous view. Really could use a broom to be able to sweep the front door mat when taking shoes off. Appreciated the sweeper although you can only use it pulling it toward you so it is a bit of a hassle. Lots of hangers in the closets Plenty of dresser drawer space Hair in tub Black bedroom lamp desperately needs cleaning There were NO beach items in the condo even though they are shown in the photos & stated in the description. No baking dishes in the kitchen After regular maintenance completed scoping the cast iron drain lines in the bathroom, they completed their work & left. Shortly after, a high pitched sound started coming from the bathroom. It would start/stop every few seconds. Called the rental company, no answer & when they did finally respond at 1:30 the next afternoon, they said to call the owner. We finally had a friend come over - in order to get it stopped, he had to turn off the water, wait a while then restart it. Again, an after hours contact is needed. Ad says TV is 72”. No way is it even close to that - much smaller. Guest book said that wine & beer were left by the previous guest who had just checked out before our arrival. There was nothing in the frig.
