Sakya abode is a good property if you book the newly done large premium rooms as compared to the older slightly smaller rooms in the heritage wing The premium rooms are comfortable, spacious with enough light and a balcony . Kettle for tea and coffee , a hair dryer , hot water shower in the bathroom are all provided and makes the stay more comfortable for sure They have a lovely garden where one can sit and enjoy morning chai or evening drinks. The manager Mr Parmar Thakur is very helpful He even drew a neat map and guided us in detail on how to plan our day trip . It was as if the routes and places were imprinted in his mind !!! Absolutely remarkable Our meals were included in the package Their dining area is very nice and cozy Although they can reduce the sound of the chanting music which gets annoying Food was average . I would say that is the only area they need improvement. One day for breakfast there was only different types of potato ( hash browns , aloo paratha and some Potato wedges ) One day at dinner the food was not covered with their separate lids for each dish leading to the food becoming very cold . Inspite of telling the attendant he yet didn’t bother . The containers are only kept over hot water which really doesn’t help the buffet food to stay hot for over an hour The reason I am comparing this is because just the next day we stayed at a tent in Parasol camps at lake Chandratal where the temperature was minus 1 degrees . Inspite of not having all the facilities being in such a remote area and using only a Kitchen tent .. the food ( dinner and breakfast) was piping hot and kept hot in casseroles Am sure sakya abode can improve on this Otherwise all in all a good property to stay
