We have been coming to the Pimalai for 20 years and it never fails to deliver. We were lucky enough to spend 15 days at the resort this time, and it just seems to get better and better. Its hard to put your finger in what makes The Pimalai so unique. It has a genuine rustic Thai charm, combined with the efficiency of a well run Western hotel. The balance is perfect and never disappoints. It could be the stunning beach, the tranquil setting, the crystal clear waters, the fantastic food or the delicious cocktails at happy hour that make it so amazing, but I think it’s actually the incredible staff that really make you feel like you are one of the family, that really sets this place apart. The staff can not do enough for you. Even the gardeners (who work tirelessly to keep the grounds looking beautiful) stop to say hello when you walk past. There has been a change of guard since last year. The lovely French Manager Franck has handed over to the equally charming new French manager Brice. The transition has been seamless and the hotel is in safe hands. We managed to do a few things this time that we’ve never done before. I did a wonderful Thai cooking class with the head chef. What an experience. One I’d recommend to anyone. We also did a sunset snorkelling trip to Koh Ha. This was spectacular. The fish we saw were incredible, an the guys on the boat were so helpful. Then followed by a sunset cruise back to the hotel. Just WOW!! As always the food in the restaurants was delicious. I get the feeling that it’s only going to get better with the new food and beverage manager putting his mark on the menus. As always, we didn’t want to leave, and we can’t wait to get back.

Spotlessly clean room with good air con. All rooms overlook the sea, where you can watch the sunset. There is a restaurant opposite open from 9-6 that does the most amazing food, especially good is breakfast. There is also a bar/ restaurant next door to the hotel. We didn’t eat here, but the drinks were good. We had the beach opposite the hotel to ourselves everyday, but there isn’t a lot of shade. It was a short walk into the town where there are restaurants, a 7/11 and atm’s and a large sandy bay with a restaurant on the beach. We used taxis to return in the evening as the road was dark. You can hire mopeds at the hotel too.

Brilliant hotel. Lovely rooms, superb staff. Great base for local trips as very near nature reserve. Much cooler than hotels on beach. We had basic room but will have deluxe next time. Loved the daily Yoga. Breakfast excellent. Nice pool and bar.

Alama was such a good surprise! All my top options were fully booked and by taking a look at the photos online, I expected quite an average stay/accommodation. But to my surprise, Alama was better than expected and I might consider coming back. I booked the Suite with Garden View and it looked exactly like on the photos. I personally love the southern part of Koh Lanta so to me the location was perfect. There are so many nice bars and restaurants within walking distance, plus a scooter/car rental, a 7 eleven, ATMs and of course Kantiang Bay. Because Alama is so high up, it can be quite a walk to your room or to the pool/breakfast area but the view from there is just stunning and the perfect way to start your day. So hopefully you won't mind the steps either! Just know that there is no alcohol (but you can bring your own) and the toilet has a curtain and then there is a wooden door to the bedroom, so if you have privacy issues, I would not recommend it.

Großartiger Service, Roomservice, service im Restaurant, tolle Gerichte zu einem fairen Preis. Der Familienbetrieb ist wirklich sehr aufmerksam und erfüllt sofort alle Anfragen, egal ob Mietroller, Ausflug oder Wünsche nach einem speziellen Bungalow. Wir haben dort aus genannten Gründen zweimal verlängert. Die Aqua Bar ist ebenfalls super, sensationelle Cocktails, super Blick und eine extrem nette Barfrau. An dieser Stelle eine Dankeschön an Aobjang!!👍🥃

酒店服務非常好，都很熱情，看見人就給我們打招呼。我媽媽過敏，幫我媽媽把全套有香味的床品全部都換掉了，房間非常乾淨整潔，所有的房間都可以看見大海，我發現最小麪的別墅房的海景會被遮擋住一部分，但是山上的更好一點。我的房間在最上麪，媽媽是第一排正對沙灘，景色很好。 酒店一個游泳池一個餐廳，環境很安靜漂亮，在一個小海灣裏，浪不大適合下水。餐廳的食物做的很不錯，價格也不貴，和我去鑽石懸崖餐廳去吃差不多的價格，我們在酒店裡吃了三頓。 酒店有送去島內各地的車，每個地方都有價目表，我們包車半天四個小時，2500泰銖。去10公裡外的沙灘，單程400泰銖，我覺得價格也很可以。可以打電話叫酒店到沙拉丹碼頭接，這個是免費的，但是好像是不送的。 馬*雞要預約，非常便宜，泰式按摩手法很好，才600泰銖一個人50分鐘。而且麪對大海感覺非常好，按摩的大姐很仔細，會觀察你的各種表情來注意輕重。我爸爸提早給了100泰銖小費，居然給他多按了20分鐘。

My wife and I spent a week towards the end of March at this resort which seemed nice from the pictures on the internet but disappointing once we got there.. The location is ideal and beautiful but having a Bar next door playing either loud music or boring music until very late at night was annoying to put it lightly. As for the resort itself, overall it was rather expensive plus we were disappointed by the fact that the Thai staff knew hardly any English which caused all sort of misunderstandings, communicate via Google translate wasn't the top considering that this resorts claims to be 4 stars. Other than these factors, we found out that there was Yoga on the roof managed by an Italian Yoga Instructor who happened to be very passionate and professional.His spoken english was flawless as he took very good care of us despite of the challenging and various Yoga classes, in fact this was the highlight of the resort itself ! This is a resort that has a soul! We stayed at the Narima during the pandemics. It was almost empty, but this was a great experience. We were looking for a calm place with a ”hidden” beach. The service and the food was excellent, the staff very friendly and the owners came by our table for a chat. We had a rare ”hidden paradice” feeling during our week-long stay. Narima is close to the road, but you do not notice it. The vegetation is varied which gives good shade throughout the day. The pool stays cool thanks to the spring water supply. The nicely terrased lay-out of the resort gives many different views and possibilities to hang out. . The beach is natural with sand and rocks and enjoyable even during ebb. For the kids there are lots of nice rocks, shells and crabs to collect! When you feel lazy, you may just spend time in the hammock on the balcony of your bungalow. Thanks for a great stay! A family owned resort. Location is on the hills with the sea-view, very peaceful and comfortable. The room is super clean and well maintained. The service is excellent, the owner and staffs are very kind. There is a restaurant that also owned by the same family located opposite side of the road is very tasty. Take less than 10 min to walk to the Bamboo beach where very beautiful, the sand is soft and pretty quiet, not many people with the sunset view. I would love to come back here again.
