Amber Sands Beach Resort

Stayed here for a week end March, beginning of April 2024. We had 2 room family bungalow with 3 single beds for our children and a large double for us. We are a family with 12, 10 and 2 year old kids. We all enjoyed our time here. All of the rooms face the pool / beach and are well located. Stunning resort and fairly remote but it was just what we all needed to chill out. In the main dining area there is a little zone where there are sofas and baskets full of children’s toys which kept them all entertained. Simon and Ning are great hosts and the food is amazing and plentiful, lots of choices and good size portions. Also good cocktails and a happy hour every day, buy one get one free. They have a son who is 4 so our children enjoyed playing and spending time with him too. Gita and Ping are also very kind and great part of the team. Kids especially loved the watermelon and coconut shakes which was a daily fix. The pool area is well kept and the massage lady was fantastic the best I’ve ever had. There are kayaks, boats and paddles free to use, our kids did use these almost daily. In walking distance you can take a stroll for a few minutes to the neighbouring resort called serenity if you want a change of scenery. We did this a couple of evenings. We took a trip to a local elephant sanctuary which Simon kindly took us there and back, around 15 mins. It was nice and we went to the river with the elephants to give them a wash. Great experience for us and our children. Simon also arranged us a vehicle for 2 days so we could drive around and tour the island. The west side of the island is very quiet and mainly locals we did a boat trip around the mangroves. The east side is very busy compared to the west side, we visited white sands beach and saw the fire show and the night food market. We also went to lonely beach and saw monkeys hanging from the trees close by. This is a wonderful beach ran by a Thai family for food, drinks and massage. The sea was calm and shallow and ourselves and the kids did enjoy the time we spent here. Overall Amber Sands is a lovely, peaceful resort with good hosts, lovely food and drinks. Would return another time and would recommend to anyone. Thank you Simon and team for a memorable stay 😎😊

Amazing resort, beautiful beach and pool area, very relaxing and the owners couldn’t do enough to help you. Use of kayaks was great. Everything was perfect just wish we could of stayed for longer also lovely food and cocktails. Can’t wait to return.

What a wonderful place! We have been here for eleven nights, and we loved every single minute of our stay, special thanks go out for Simon and the whole team who made the time so special and memorable, without you guys this would not have been the same. The resort is on the quieter side of the island, if you don’t mind riding a scooter this place is also very good for people willing to explore the island (be careful, there are a lot of stray dogs on the streets, it’s painful if you hit one with the scoter). Very nice and good equipped rooms, a nice pool and a wonderful garden. Everything is kept well and taken care after. The food is outstanding. Read the FAQ on the website, everything described there is totally true and should clear out nearly all questions and will help you clarify if this is the right place for you. Thanks again Simon, Ning, Gita and Ping, you gave us a home away from home, we appreciate this a lot and it was a pleasure being your guests.

We certainly made the right choice picking Amber Sands to stay for 3 days. This small family run business is set in a beautiful tranquil bay, away from the hustle and bustle of White sands Beach, but close enough to it if a change of scene was wanted. The owner, Simon was extremely helpful and a great host, as were his family. It has a casual laid back air. The home cooked food was excellent, and the views from our room were stunning. Loved Koh Chang and will return.

Stayed in many beautiful hotels over the years, amber sands is definitely the best food is fantastic , son and his family are unbelievable hosts and are always there for you throughout your stay, nothing is too much trouble for them if u want total relaxation and a paradise setting, AMBER SANDS is definitely for you

We had a great stay here. It’s a very peaceful area, perfect for what we wanted after busy cities. Room 1 had the most amazing views over the beach/ sea. Very comfortable beds. I saw a few of the other rooms, all have great views and lovely decor. Only small criticism of our room is that the shower room could use an update however everything works perfectly and it is very spacious. As everyone has said Simon and his lovely family make this place special. He is so helpful, nothing is too much trouble and we were very grateful that he arranged our transfers and took us across the island to our next hotel himself which was so kind. Food here is lovely and good price- we ordered some fish and prawns one night and that was amazing A short walk up the beach to Serenity for cocktails became our evening routine, nice bar and great views there too.

A really lovely little place on the island. Well kept, clean and friendly. We went with three small children and had an adjoining two bedroom garden villa which met our needs. The children were able to run around safely and swim in the sea as this side of the island is sheltered and sea conditions are very smooth. The restaurant does lots of different foods. Simon and his wife Ning can sort anything you need out from clothes washing to car/moped hire snd he’ll tell you all the really nice places to head out to! I would thoroughly recommend. We will definitely be heading back!

The view is very beautiful. I like it here. Warm, quiet and private a**osphere. Beautiful beach with flowers and plants decorated by the owner of the resort. Awesome.💖✨so lovely 🌊🌈🪸🌳🌷 🐈🐕‍🦺thank you

Wow 🤩🤩🤩🤩 Absolutely loved my stay at Amber Sands Hotel. The hotel grounds are stunning and very well maintained, the beach 🏝️ located 1cm from the hotel grounds is beautiful and the sea 🌊 is generally calm and very relaxing. The hotel provides free kayaks but I never had a chance to use them. The rooms are perfect, quiet, rustic with quiet air conditioning and soothing lighting that accents the decor. The swimming pool was again very beautiful and perfect size for the grounds ( anything bigger really would be unsuitable) . The restaurant is located directly next to the beach ( so close in fact that if you was to drop cutlery, there’s a chance it may go onto the sand 😉) but this only added to the experience and relaxed Amber Sands vibe as you eat and drink with the sea lapping up against the shore just metres from you. The food was exceptional, the menu offers something for everyone but I particularly enjoyed the scrambled egg with my breakfast every morning, the chefs clearly have passion for what they do. The staff/owners 🤔 they were top of their game on making you feel welcome and going out of their way to make your stay unforgettable experience. Simon the owner is very knowledgeable of the island 🏝️ and can always help with suggestions on things to do and see on the beautiful island. Would definitely go to this hotel again ( actually already booked to go back to Amber Sands soon 😜)
