Worst hotel we stayed in, in Thailand, we travelled around Thailand for 2 months. The island is absolutely beautiful and the snorkelling was amazing we swam with black tip sharks everyday we was there. We finished our Thailand adventure on this island celebrating our 23rd wedding anniversary which was ruined by the hotel and the very miserable unfriendly and very unhelpful lady at the reception. We booked and paid for a superior room but when we checked in and got to our room K3 we realised and was told by staff that we had been put into a standard room because they didn’t have a superior available so we was trapped in that disgusting filthy dirty room with ripped and stained bed sheets and dirty thread bear towels (see pics) the bathroom sink leaked all over the floor every time we used the tap. The lady at reception didn’t care and offered no solution all she said was the room K3 had a nice view which it did have a lovely view but the view didn’t make up for the disgusting room we was forced to sleep in and was over charged for. After 2 days of emails and trying to make the lady understand that they shouldn’t of put us in a dirty standard Room when we had paid much more for a standated room she finally gave us a very small refund which didn’t come close to covering the difference in price. This is no way to run a hotel, very unprofessional !!!!!!! The food and drinks are very expensive and the food was only just ok.

Hôtel très bien situé, près des commerces, restaurants et très près de la plage. Les chambres sont grandes cependant il n’y avait pas de salle de bain privées, il faut aller dans le couloir avec les autres clients. Une piscine est à disposition. Très bon séjour, je recommande pour un voyage entre amis ou seul.

Lovely place with lovely people! We stayed here 9 nights and we have eaten several breakfasts, lunches, bites and dinners here. The staff were very nice. It is clean. And the food and cocktails are cheap and good. No such thing as bees (as some nasty lady pretends in a review here, we heard her scream without reason and she was not civilised at all towards the staff! They showed her the place and her room before she agreed and payed for it.) The swimming pool is also clean and very romantic. If you go to Thailand you know you will encounter animals and wildlife. In our room (little bungalow near the swimming pool) we had zero bugs, spiders or whatsoever inside. Every day we got clean towels and drinking water and they clean the room. Yes sometimes you have to wait a little or things will not go as planned. Welcome to Thailand. Enjoy. It is one of the view quiet places left at Koh Tao also because of the garden with waterfall and Buddha’s. Within 200 meters you can buy food, get a massage and go towards the rest of the island. Over the past 30 years we have been several times to Koh Tao and this time we stayed at Fisherman’s for the first but certainly not for the last time!

Pros - comfy bed, fridge, air con and location. Cons- the hotel didn’t even have a reception so we spent ages walking around looking for it and eventually checked in using another hotels reception. Very dirty inside, hand prints on the doors/ mirrors, dead bugs/ spiders squashed all over the walls, broken toilet seat, there was a door handle missing, the lock to the actual room was dodgy so was a pain to lock and unlock, poor shower and not a spacious room at all. The first night we were trying to find somewhere else to stay but there was literally nothing available so we ended up staying the duration. However it was cheap and I must add the location was incredible.

this hotel isn't worth its price. if you want something comfortable, pick something else. the good: it is family run so the staff is helpful (late checkout), they speak a bit of english. The room is clean and overall it's acceptable. the bad: - i felt a total lack of security. The checkin is at the ground floor, then the rooms start from 1 to 4 floor. all floors are accessible by a staircase which is directly accessible to anyone from the main road. Basically there is no garden/private area, the checkin office and the staircase are simply on the road. There is no staff after 8pm and the hotel is situated a little in the back of the town. So basically anyone can walk up the stairs. Then the door locker is really bad, there is no second security lock (which most hotels have) so this is innaceptable due to the fact that the room door is basically accessible to anyone from outside. - the shower isn't great, the water is hot all day long (by sun) so no way to take a fresh shower at day. at night or early morning, the water is cold (or have to wait at least 5min to drain the water out) - the hotel is pretty basic. for the same price you can have a swimming pool in another hotel..

I decided on In Touch based on the reviews, price and location. Taxi ride from ferry was about 5minutes (300 bhat). Check in was easy. We stayed in the Studio Balcony on the 3rd floor which was hard with carrying luggage without elevators, but they helped. One of the steps is uneven going up to 2nd floor. Room was very spacious with platform bed, benches around perimeter, large mini fridge with freezer, desk area and small eating area, along with a separate sum room and balcony with sea view. There was no dresser but plenty of counter and bench space to put things. The bed was on the firm/hard side but pillows were decent. Bathroom was spacious with double sinks and plenty of counter space. Shower pressure was very good but drainage system not so good, so water would back up into rest of bathroom if you took too long of a shower. Power would cut out whenever you left room with the key, but AC and fan worked well once you returned. Wifi worked well from our room. Location was great, with access to walking path along Sairee beach but on the edge so not too busy and loud. Good restaurant on site for any meal (7:30-10pm), as well as drinks. Pros: location, spacious room, good AC/fan, large mini fridge, cost Cons: no elevators, uneven step, poor shower drainage, resort grounds somewhat run down.

Let’s be clear: this hostel/hotel is exactly what it says it is on the web site. It’s a stylish boutique property in good condition. We had a private room for THB1900 and it met our expectations. Bed linens were crisp and the room felt very clean. I was happy to find decent shampoo and shower gel and even toothbrushes and ear buds in the bathroom. There are large common areas on each floor for lounging around in. Staff were friendly and as check in was strictly 2pm we left our bags while we went out for lunch across the road on the beach. At 2pm, check in was fast but almost uniquely in Thailand they do not accept payment with Thai QR codes (and they charge 3% on Visa/MasterCard). This implies they really don’t expect Thailand residents to stay here or to buy food and drink from the restaurant because Thai QR codes are accepted everywhere from the smallest street vendor selling THB99 cocktails. It’s inexplicable and they missed our extensive spend on drinks, food, and breakfast because everywhere else we went on Koh Tao takes this ubiquitous QR code. I had to find a Bangkok Bank ATM to withdraw the THB1900 in cash because we live in Samui and don’t carry much cash any more. As well as the bathroom supplies, the room has a safe, fridge, and four large towels. I was expecting a kettle and there’s no communal kitchen to boil water so we went without morning coffee (I’d brought an Aeropress). The aircon in the room was strong. Soundproofing is relatively poor with returning partygoers waking us up multiple times during the night. There was a savage stink of sewerage in the bathroom in the morning. We spent our last morning before 12pm check out on the rooftop pool which is a lovely area. There’s a bar up there that apparently opens in the afternoon but we didn’t try it because of the QR payment issue and had drinks by the beach instead. This is a classy hostel that is ideally located in the middle of the Sairee Beach walking street for all the beachfront bars and restaurants. It’s less rustic and better designed than many of the older cabins and cottages along the beach and I hope they can maintain it in its present condition.
