The hotel’s location is not ideal and requires taking a cab to visit tourist spots. It’s about 25 minutes from Kunming Train Station and 35 minutes from the airport.
Furthermore, the hotel is dishonest about its windowless rooms. Upon check-in, I was informed by the concierge that the windowless rooms are located near a KTV next to the hotel, which might disrupt our sleep. However, this was not disclosed before our trip; it was only mentioned at check-in. We were given two options: either upgrade the room for an additional fee or cancel the booking. Finding a room at the last minute was impractical, so we had no choice but to upgrade. When we questioned the concierge about why this wasn’t disclosed beforehand, he responded with a condescending and unapologetic attitude, saying that Trip.com couldn’t include such fine details. However, they could have notified us by text message before our arrival, not on the day itself.
Overall, the staff here provided poor service. When my mum requested two bottles of water from the concierge, the staff simply acknowledged her but continued chatting among themselves without clarifying whether the water would be delivered to our room or if we should wait there. We had to interrupt their conversation again to check if they’d heard our request, and their tone in response was unpleasant. The overall service was extremely disappointing. I definitely do not recommend this hotel.
