Staff was great. Very friendly and helpful. Spoke English. Good location. The onsen was amazing. Breakfast was good.

About the breakfast, we have three different kinds of traditional Japanese set menu, and we offer all guest with much confident collaboration with Jokyoji temple. Although some of our guests from overseas might feel their taste unaccustomed, we are really pleased to hear that you could enjoy having breakfast at our restaurant. Also, thank you for posting your photos. We will definitely continue our efforts to provide the best service for our guests putting ourselves into the guest's shoes. The hotel is overall good. The location is excellent. It is super convenient to get to any place of interest due to close vicinity of the subway and the railway station.  The room is small, the window does not open for safety reasons. Although I read many positive reviews regarding the breakfast, it was not great to my liking with limited choice.

Excellent location neighboring two cemeteries for those who don’t mind. Service was good and the room size lives up to Japanese standard - small. There are both subway and bus stations near by, well connected to all of the key sights in the city.

Place is very convenient and near the shopping area. There is even Lawson located just beside the hotel. Room was spacious and clean, bed was comfy and even came with air purifier for guests. Room service everyday which keep the room clean. Breakfast has good service and can choose between Jap or Western choice. Overall good stay!

The hotel is really nice. The room was a little dusty though. It also a little far from the metro needed to get to the high speed train.

Everything was fine except that the room was a bit small. Onsen was also tiny. Would have preferred more English speaking staff. Also was told that the hotel cannot help book any restaurant on check out day. This, I thought was not very helpful at all. Staff was too calculative on helping only customers that are staying with them and not customers that have just checked out.

Very enjoyable stay. The staff were very kind and helpful and were able to speak English. They gave me lots of tips for getting around the city and provided me with maps and helpful information. Good location. Not too far from Gion and very close to the train stations and metro. The breakfast was very tasty too. I’d be happy to come back again next time I visit Kyoto. It was a great spot and very comfortable. Good value for money.

It was the first time for us to stay in this hotel, first impression at the lobby is a WOW! From the incense scent to the Japanese traditional motif deco, one can immediately feel the sense of calmness and peace. The room is typically small as in Japan standard, but the facilities are good enough for a short trip. Location is their key strength, walkable distance to most of the must-go tourist sights. However, staffs at reception desk are with various service attitude, some are friendly and helpful, some are cold and not professional as I expect minimal English conversation is a basic requirement at a branded hotel chain; at least a 'welcome to our hotel' etc greeting should be presented during customer's arriving or leaving. Sorry to say, the front desk team had given me an untrained, part-timer impression.

Alert: for those who are sensitive with cemetery, please avoid this hotel, they got a cemetery like commemorative plaque. Others then this everything are great, clean, good customer service and also with onsen.
