Let's Start with the positives perfect location Bar Prices very Reasonable, room very spacious with a perfect view of the beach now negatives room was very dated as were the corridors very gloomy could do with brightening up maybe some pictures would help. reception staff we found very helpful and friendly the bar staff not so it seemed as if it was inconvenience to serve us and the terrace service was very poor on many occasions we saw people having to get up and go to the bar themselves. Limited bar snacks which was also a bit disappointing. you have to remember though that this is an hotel that caters mainly for the Spanish people thus the entertainment was very limited and most nights was a duet singing songs in Spanish which were the same ones every night. pool area below the terrace had very limited space and one side had no sun umbrellas there is also a rooftop terrace which was a bit more spacious but again no sun umbrellas which I found very strange. Food was ok a good choice at breakfast and Dinner but never very hot, someone wrote that there was paella most nights but that wasn't the case for our stay not sure if it was in August when the Spanish people take their holidays. All in All not a bad Hotel but struggle to see how it has 4 stars We would not return to this hotel again which is a shame because it has great potential.

El Hotel se encuentra un poco apartado. Con nula señalizacion exterior con en el interior. Ya he dejado incidencia. Tienes que andar preguntando. La señalizados en los pasillos es nula. Tiene que perder alguna estrella. El dasayuno no esta mal. Pero el café y zumos de muy mala calidad. El servicio de habitaciones lo realizan tarde... Quizás no tienen suficiente personal.

On previous visits to Albir we had stayed at a seafront hotel and in a beautiful apartment. This time we stayed at Rober Palas on a cricket tour, as the hotel had been recommended by the local club. The location is good, in a quiet side street yet very close to Avenida Albir with its restaurants, and just about walking distance from the seafront. Check-in was quick (we arrived after the main group). However, when I saw the room, which was very basic, and the bathroom which was truly awful, I wanted to go elsewhere straight away. We stayed only because of the group. The room was extremely basic with virtually no amenities. The beds were not bad, though. The bathroom was a relic from the previous century. Getting in and out of bathtub (the shower was inside the tub) was quite hazardous, because of the design, and my partner slipped and fell on one occasion. The water temperature was extremely difficult to regulate, it was either boiling hot or very cold. The fittings on the tub were very shabby. And the provided 'toiletries' consisted of tiny sachets of the cheapest shower gel. The breakfast room was in the basement, and the buffet was at the low end of average. Not much choice for vegetarians, so we usually just had some muesli, a banana, and a slice of toast (or a croissant if they weren't stale). The coffee from the machine was pretty awful and watery, so I switched to tea. The staff were quite pleasant. The bar on the ground floor is pretty non-descript, service ok, nothing special, but there are some outdoor tables. I had been looking forward to the pool area which looked nice in the hotel photos but turned out to be a building site. I hope that has changed by now. After all this criticism I have to say, that prices were less than we had paid for the other hotel or the apartment. My expectations were probably too high, so taking into consideration that this is a budget place I have rated this hotel 'average' rather than 'poor'.

Great Hotel in good location- The all inclusive is excellent- top brand alcoholic drinks (including pink gin!) - only tried one of the cocktails (bit too sweet for me). Bar staff were very friendly and you don’t have to queue for long. We went as a couple but were checking the facilities for our daughter to come next year with her Husband and our two Granddaughters - this is an excellent hotel for families - snack bar always had hot dogs, hamburgers (quarter pounders), chicken nuggets, pizza, chips, toasted sandwiches, cake, fruit etc. Ice cream available all day from the pool bar. We have never been on an all inclusive that includes sweets, popcorn, crisps, nuts and bottles of water. The water park looked like brilliant fun - the pool was great - lots of activities but we did not get involved - just there for a relaxing break ! Themed dinners including bbq, Italian and Mexican - these are bookable on a daily system - we only went for the Mexican and the food was excellent. Food in the restaurant was of a very high standard and always something to eat - so much choice - only thing is that the food is not piping hot although we found this in every restaurant that we went to. Only stayed for the entertainment on one evening- again, not our thing but everyone seemed to be having a great time. Bus stops outside the hotel for buses to Benidorm and Altea. The walk to the beach (the beach is VERY pebbly so take sea shoes) is about 20 minutes - lots of local bars and restaurants. You can walk along the sea front (which is very flat) all the way to Altea (a nice slow stroll of about 30/40 mins. We did get a bus into Altea (one euro sixty each - although every other time we walked). Old Altea town is a great place to visit - we sat in a restaurant in the square by the church with a bottle of wine and watched the world go by!. Cleaning was brilliant- our towels were changed most days and bedding every 2/3 days - To summarise this hotel is great value for money and I would highly recommend. The staff are all very hardworking and make you very welcome.
