Ulasan Logis Hôtel & Restaurant Au Clos Paillé Charme & Caractère

The welcome was warm and friendly and we were shown to our room upstairs. The rooms are all named after herbs and spices rather than numbered. We were in one of the spice rooms. It was quite small with a sliding door to access and very compact bathroom. The decor was all white in the room making it feel cool and rather bijou. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The air-con was efficient and very quiet. Dinner was different matter. We were told that as it was a warm evening we would all be eating outside on the patio area. It was not a choice. Similarly the set menu had no choice offered. While we were waiting we ordered a glass of wine. We were shown a list of wines by the glass from some sort of Vacuvin machine which were exorbitantly priced and a total rip off. Eventually we managed to get the main wine list and prices were much more reasonable but the damage was already done. We waited a long time for the food. The amuse guele was a pate made from , I suspect, kale or cabbage which was interesting. The starter was a tomato mousse with mozzarella. Considering that much is made at the hotel about the chef being a Maitre Restaurateur offering a Table Distinguee. The starter had crossed the line between subtlety and total blandness. The main course was a type of fish I had not eaten before; Maigre. We waited a long time for it. Perhaps there were problems in the kitchen. By the time it arrived the evening had started to get uncomfortably cool. The fish, as the name implies was meager and over-cooked. It was supposed to be served with a meat jus which was utterly tasteless. The highlight was the dessert which was a warm fruit salad with ice cream though it was unbalanced with an excess of lemon acidity. Breakfast was served in the delightful main dining room and was all it should be.

This place was a fantastic discovery. We arrived from England with our dog and we’re very warmly welcomed. The room was very clean and warm. It offered a small kitchenette lovely warm shower. Beautiful comfortable bed and s super location next to a park but walking distance of the town centre. Perfect for us and the dog! We had dinner here last night which was truly outstanding. The chef was a young lady of 29 who deserves a Michelin Star. The quality of the food was outstanding. Local and fresh, beautifully presented and inspirational in its presentation. Breakfast was equally outstanding with a huge selection of local cheeses and hams, croissants, cereal local yogurt, beautiful. Eggs and bacon. My husband was in heaven. We will be back. It has a lovely boutique feel. The owner of the hotel is charming and helpful and although we are passing through this time we will be back. It’s in La Roche- Posay and as most people are aware these skin products are fantastic. I’m assured the local Spa is worth a trip. Good excuse to return 😊

Very impressed with this hotel, which lives up to its name. Good swimming pool. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

Apartment not as good as advertised.Choice in restaurant non existent.Would stay there again but not eat the evening meal better deals and choice locally.Roche Posay lovely old town.Played golf locally quite expensive but a nice course.

Charming old style French hotel. Room was quite small and old but very comfortable. It had one of the best air conditioning units we have had so far in France so a good sleep despite being very hot outside. The evening meal was very nicely presented and tasty, if not very much of it. It left you wanting more! Overall very good, La Roche-Posay was only a few minutes on foot with plenty of choice of bars and restaurants.

We picked this hotel as a stay-over on our way to Spain. However, this cosy hotel has much more to offer including an outdoor sport area. Friendly service and clean public areas and rooms. Beds are a bit small when used to larger double beds. However, we slept well and were fully refreshed in the morning. Excellent value/price.

Accueil très agréable, hôtel joliment décoré. Cependant nôtre télévision affiché que 2 chaînes aucun signal même après les recommandations de l Accueil. Le point négatif et pas le moindre très peut d eau chaude aussi bien le soir que le lendemain matin.

Le rapport qualité prix à cette époque de l'année est très intéressant surtout en bénéficiant d'un surclassement et d'une réduction fidélité. Petit appartement douillet bien équipé, bien chauffé, lit XXL, boissons offertes (eau, thé), agréable et très reposant. Petit déjeuner varié délicieux et copieux pour bien démarrer la journée. Merci à l'équipe pour leur accueil bienveillant.

Tout était parfait, le personnel accueillant, la chambre propre et au calme avec des serviettes à profusions. Et encore un grand merci à Marie la cheffe du soir pour son excellent repas qui s'en est sortie avec maestria alors qu'elle était seule. Petit déj excellent à base de produit locaux. Nous reviendrons certainement. Merci.

Merveilleux endroit au calme en plein centre villele personnel est gentil serviable, endroit magnifique à refaire aux beaux jours. La belle piscine n’étant pas ouverte pendant l’automne. Le restaurant repas à base de citrouille très bon, petit déjeuner buffet très bon avec un choix pour tous. Merci.

Excellent accueil, appartements très fonctionnels, très bien équipés et très propres tout est parfait, on se sent comme à la maison ! Le cadre est magnifique, le jardin est RES bien entretenu et la cuisine est sublime
