A Truly Magical Experience – Beyond Expectations! I recently stayed at Berjaya Resort Langkawi, and I have to say it was one of the most magical and memorable experiences ever! I initially booked the *Rainforest Chalet*, but when I arrived at the hotel with my kids, something extraordinary happened. As I was getting ready to be transferred to the chalet, the assistant manager, Hafi (if I’m not mistaken), stopped the buggy and personally told me that they had decided to upgrade me to the **Premier Chalet on Water**. He mentioned that after seeing me check in with my children, they thought the Rainforest Chalet might not be as comfortable for us. I was completely speechless! The staff’s thoughtfulness and kindness made me feel so welcome and special, like I was being treated like family. What made this even more amazing was that I had only booked the room two hours before check-in via Trip.com, and requested a small anniversary celebration. I didn’t expect much given the short notice, but to my surprise, the staff went out of their way to decorate the room beautifully with towel and bed decor that made the occasion so much more special. I couldn’t believe how efficient and sweet they were in such a short time! What really stood out was the personal WhatsApp message I received from Ira (the guest service team) after check-in. She provided all the menus from the hotel restaurants and a list of activities around Langkawi, including night market schedule around the town! As someone who also works in the hotel industry, I think all hotels should adopt this approach. It keeps guests well-informed and makes them feel truly appreciated and connected throughout their stay. This small gesture made me feel like I had everything I needed at my fingertips! From the bottom of my heart, thank you Berjaya Resort Langkawi, I cannot recommend them enough. From the warm welcome to the magical moments they created, this was an experience that my family and I will cherish forever. If you’re looking for a place where you’ll be treated with care, thoughtfulness, and personal attention, this is it!

Had the best stay of our lives right here at Ritz Carlton! The entry level room is huge! We love everything about the room! The bathtub is absolutely huge. His and her sinks. Huge shower area as well. The resort itself is huge. Every restaurant is situated at its own building. Buggy services are available around the clock. Though wait time varies. The service from everybody is excellent. You will feel well taken care of. There is also ample privacy especially if you get their villa. Would definitely love to come back here again!

We’ve been regular repeat visitors to Pelangi Beach Resort since the early 1990s, when we used to bring our children. We make a point of driving to other new resorts in Langkawi whenever they pop up.. But nothing compares to Pelangi!! The beautifully landscaped, wooden chalet concept is like living in a village but with fantastic resort facilities. Staff are super helpful, friendly and hard-working. They always make us feel like we’re returning to see close family. We enjoyed the food buffets in the different restaurants, as well as the entertainment (Pelangi Lounge and Pelangi Grill). Not to mention the beautiful stretch of Pantai Cenang alongside the resort. Can’t rate Pelangi high enough, whether it’s for families or couples.

The only good thing about this hotel is it’s location. Other than that, It’s very average with old furniture and I was also very irritated by the smell inside the building. Its very close to the beach thats good.

The reception staff, in particular, is often praised for being accommodating, whether assisting with room changes, organizing tours, or providing useful local tips. The overall service is smooth, though during peak seasons, you may experience a slight delay in requests. Dining: Mercury Hotel offers an on-site restaurant serving a mix of local Malaysian and international cuisine. While the breakfast buffet provides a good variety, some guests feel the food could be a bit more diverse and flavorful. For those wanting more options, there are plenty of eateries nearby, offering a chance to explore the local culinary scene. Facilities: The hotel includes a modest-sized pool, which is a nice addition for guests looking to relax after a day of sightseeing. There’s also a fitness center, though it’s quite basic. If you’re in need of a more extensive range of equipment, you might want to explore nearby alternatives. Location: One of the highlights of Mercury Hotel is its convenient location. It’s a short drive to some of Langkawi’s popular beaches and attractions, such as Pantai Cenang and the Langkawi Sky Bridge. If you don’t mind a short walk or taxi ride, you’ll find plenty of shops, restaurants, and tour operators around. Overall: Mercury Hotel offers good value for money, especially for travelers who want a comfortable and central base from which to explore Langkawi. While there’s room for improvement in some areas like dining and room size, the attentive staff and ideal location make it a great choice for those seeking a hassle-free stay.

Very attentive and friendly helpful staff in entire hotel. Room is very spacious and clean, buffet breakfast is superb, nice coffee too. The locals there are also very friendly and always willing to help/guide the tourists and they are open to sharing information of Langkawi.

The room was spacious with a lovely view, and the bed was comfortable. However, it certainly didn’t look like a new hotel that’s been open for 12 months. The flooring, wardrobes and bathroom were tarnished and looked cheap. The grouting was yellow. However, it was still a relatively pleasant experience, albeit below expectations. Breakfast was standard, nothing special. Pool area was really lovely. Location is a strange one, a few minutes away from the beach, however it’s pretty quite around hotel. Also I was confronted by a pack of stray dogs about 150m from hotel, which put a damper on my stay. The lively town was 1.2 miles away.

There are few pros and cons points worth to be highlighted: Pros 1. Staff - all of the staffs are well trained and very polite. Cons 1. Check in - this is the first time as a local malaysian, I need to provide I/C for each of my family members who is going to stay here. When i asked the receptionist, she said it’s part of the resort policy as it is a so called “4/5 star resort”. (I never encountered this situation at other 4/5 stars hotel) It’s weird, but they do implement this policy 2. Breakfast - for a 4/5 star resort, the available menu is super basic and not meeting my expectations. Egg also ala carte with additional charges if you want to request extra 3. Room cleanliness - theres a lot of cockroaches here. Im not joking!! Summary Not recommended. With a total of almost RM600 per room per night spend, there’s a lot of better options.

Had a great time during my first visit. Such a great place for holiday and the best time to spend in Langkawi. Thanks for the hospitality and the wonderful food.

This hotel has an excellent location, making it very convenient for getting around. The staff are warm and friendly, providing outstanding service, especially the team in the children's playroom.
