Getting off the Club Med 2 ship I walked with my luggage to your beautiful hotel, KA-POW! My room had views of the docks, the restaurant on the 23rd floor had incredible views and impeccable service. The swimming pool on the 25th floor was nice, just right for a little dip. Thank you Elizabeth who checked me in, I walked in stressed and left refreshed and happy. Your English is excellent and your kindness was much appreciated. A good haircut helped too, there are many salons and massage places in walking distance. I enjoyed sitting at a few sidewalk cafes, walking around and window shopping. The beach was a an eight minute walk and the dock was a three minute walk. Thank you to Manuel who checked me out and helped me with my luggage. I highly recommend this hotel.

This was a one night stay before picking up the cruise ship Azamara Onward. To get to check-in, you have to go up one storey from ground level by climbing a fancy set of entrance steps. There is a 1970s ”baggage lift” to the rhs, and if you have a disability you can use that, but it has no sides, and moves at a snails pace whilst your finger has to stay on the button. This lack in investment speaks volumes about this hotel. I was given a superior room due to loyalty scheme status, but it was nothing special. The air con was noisy, and the room lacked charging points. The mattress wasn't that great, and the bedding was musty. Dinner in the 23rd floor restaurant was a farce. The restaurant was fairly full with cruise guests on a dinner package that included a buffet and drinks. Rather than allowing us to pay for the same buffet, we were forced to choose from a very limited overpriced restaurant menu. The food was disgusting. The extremely processed food ”burger” was still raw in the middle; the hake was aslso still raw in the middle and both had to be sent back to the kitchen. They couldn't even cook the chips. My travel companion said that breakfast in the morning was even more of a disaster - not enough seats for the guests, nor enough food out. Would I stay here again? Well, I used Marriott points, so it was free. If I was paying for it, I'd want my money back.....

Cleanliness is everything and it’s here in abundance! The staff are amazing and a special shout out to Santa and joel at the bar. Yurena, Vanessa on reception are fabulous nothing too much trouble. The rooms are cleaned daily To A very high standard. All in all a magnificent place with maybe a few tweaks needed. No where to dry costumes and towels a little rail Would be amazing or a collapsing airer would look so much better than clothes laid over tables on every veranda, perhaps more aesthetically pleasing to the eye! The restaurant keeps very odd hours and you can’t rely on in being open but the pool bar does do the very basics and they’re quite ok. So peaceful and serene with a very boutique feel.

Hotel The hotel itself is absolutely amazing. The grounds are HUGE and the fact it is right on a beautiful beach is great. There is a pool bar which serves lovely slushy cocktails and soft drinks. The beach is just a few steps down and is amazing, you can walk all the way along the beach to little cafes and a town which I recommend. There are loads of sunbeds we went in May and could get a sunbed at any time of the day, even after 12. The grounds were always spotlessly clean and tidy. There are 4 shops in the hotel, 3 boutique privately owned ones and one is the R2 bazaar. There is a large buffet dining room with plenty of tables and chairs. The hotel has 6 floors, the entertainment space is large and very nicely decorated. The hotel is extremely clean and tidy with plenty of sitting areas/sofas Entertainment the entertainment cannot be faulted. The two young lads who ran the entertainment were so engaging and fun, every night was something fun and it was genuinely a great laugh. Remember this is not broadway and everyone will moan at something but it was great fun every night. Food Unfortunately this was the let down for this hotel. The foot was extremely limited, offering things like goat and rabbit on some nights. There was always chips and paella on offer and usually pork which was okay. I just had pasta every night from the children’s section which was nice but wanted some variety. A bit of grilled chicken etc would have been nice. There are themed nights for food but perhaps it was our personal opinion that it was not very nice. The desserts however were AMAZING. We ended up finding an amazing beach bar 10 mins walk away which was great, recommend eating out for at least one meal a day or you will struggle to find things. The A la carte restaurant is just a room in the pool bar, we didn’t try it. The pool bar snacks are leftovers from lunch/breakfast - everyone seemed to love. There are always ice creams available which is a nice touch Drinks The drinks were very strong and very nice. A variety of cocktails to pick from, spirits, whiskey etc Guests Majority of the guests are not British, unfortunately we felt extremely judged by absolutely everyone and this is mirrored in a lot of other reviews. Staff The bartending staff were absolutely lovely so were all the male chefs and entertainment group. huge shoutout to JONATHON at the pool bar, this guy is so friendly to every nationality even though some weren’t so polite to him, he is amazing !!! The reception team were also very accommodating to all of our queries/issues so that was great. However the woman in the R2 bazaar was the rudest woman I have ever met, she would be so rude and didn’t want to let you convert the card transaction into GBP which every other member of staff asked you what you would prefer.
