This place is in a really good location and easy to find. Travel light though as there are no lifts and narrow staircases to carry your luggage. As most old places in Europe there is no air conditioning, so be prepared. You needed to step over the bath to shower so take that into consideration too. Our room was clean and had a small refrigerator, bonus in Europe. The restaurant has a good menu and drink selection. English is spoken, if required. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Oh my goodness, where to start? The room I stayed in was an annex to the main hotel. Upon arrival I had to check in at the hotel opposite and pick up an access code to the annex. Staff were friendly, my room clean. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end! It really looks like the management of this hotel is living entirely on the view and everything looks run down and in need of serious modernisation. Carpets, furniture and furnishings are all tatty and stale, windows thick with dirt and look like they haven’t been cleaned in years. The restaurant looks like an inferior motorway service station cafeteria! As there wasn’t a great deal of choice regarding restaurants in the local area I decided to eat at the hotel. After waiting for a little while I was greeted by an Napoleon-like head waiter wearing tight jeans and sporting an over-hanging stomach! Food was very expensive (unless you opted for the meal deal) and a bottle of cider would set one back €27. Amazing! The same bottle costs £2.70 in supermarkets back home. My snails seemed well cooked (I wouldn’t really know as it’s the first time I’ve tasted them) although my chicken dry and chocolate soufflé overcooked. Service was also extremely slow. Next day’s breakfast was even worse. Tinned fruit, sloppy scrambled eggs and uncleared tables. No doubt due to a lack of staff. So mostly negatives with a sprinkling of positives thrown in. Lovely views but when rooms costing between £80-100 per night this is very expensive for what is provided.

Fantastic place directly next to Mont Saint Michel. We brought our bikes with us and enjoyed biking a round the area and biking directly to the Mont Saint Michel avoiding the long shuttle bus queues. Very friendly and helpful hotel staff and good restaurant. The only small problem we had was getting through the entry gate to the area. There was a long queue of cars and almost everyone struggled getting through. When it was our turn we realized that we needed a code. A quick call to the hotel, who provided us the code, and problem solved.

We stayed 1 nt on 9/11/23 & the weather had just started to cool down. Room was hot upon arrival but propping our room door open & opening the window across from it & I also went down the hall & opened the building window..finally cooled down. We ended up sleeping well & could leave window open bc it was super quiet outside. Location: 1) the free shuttle directly in front 2) immediately next door(same parking lot) has Brioche Doree for take away sandwiches, croissants, etc 0830-1730 & a gift shop/huge general store open til 7p & even had some basic food & alcohol. Vending machine outside with food/drink 3) also in same parking lot is their restaurant where they can give you ice! (Get the “ice bag” from the Front desk first) Hotel: had 3 tables with chairs in the lobby, a picnic table outside, & an unlocked breakfast room that had a microwave in it. Room: only liquid soap in dispensers at sink & in shower as the toiletries Being that we were able to sleep well, I gave 4 & it was MUCH cheaper than other places near by(I booked in adv on their site), otherwise if during hot summers: 2 or 3 Tip: better yet, time your arrival to do MSM as a day trip (allow 2-3 hr) & then drive on to another town & sleep there

Our hotel rooms were spotless and - as expected- small, historic and comfortable. The only issue with our accommodations was the lack of information given us when booking concerning how and where to check in. Booking was via the Mont Saint-Michel site- quite easy and efficient. Unfortunately, no information concerning HOW we were to physically check in was supplied with our reservation. We discovered- after an hour of dragging suitcases up and down steep steps amidst hordes of tourists clogging the main thoroughfare- that there is apparently a centralized ”check in” site for the various local hotels- a fact which we were not aware of...the site discovered only through the kindness of locals. After said check in we were directed to our rooms- which were actually in an annex near a church....not, again, a free-standing hotel, per se. Please note that the breakfast was actually served in a side room of the restaurant of the Mouton Blanc Auberge- which we then realized must be a hotel...just not the site of our actual rooms. Confused? Yes. in summary, be aware of the check-in snafu and all shall be well. subsequent check-out took approximately two minutes in the same centralized locale. the hotel rooms are lovely, simple, well- appointed, and situated in an obviously astonishing locale that is well- worth the climb. Just pay attention to the above....and PACK LIGHT

Our family was excited to be seated outdoors at this restaurant during our visit to Mont St. Michele. Then we waited, and waited. In spite of our friendly gestures to the staff, it took about 20 minutes for someone to set our table and provide menus. We watched several other parties arrive after us and have their orders taken. Once our table was set, we again waited patiently for our order to be taken. We observed that customer service appeared to be random: some parties were served immediately, and their food was delivered reasonably promptly; others, like us, were ignored. After about 30 minutes of waiting to place our order, I approached a waitress who was cleaning a table nearby (of a party that came after we arrived) and in a friendly way offered to clean the table for her, in exchange for her taking our order. She promised that someone would come in 5 minutes. About 10 minutes later I saw a man who appeared to be the manager taking orders at a table nearby, and approached him when he had finished the order. In a friendly manner I explained we had been waiting a long time and asked him to take our order. He scolded me and walked away. At that point, a party who had also been waiting quite some time witnessed this response and left. My family followed them out the door. We were promply seated at the terrace restaurant next door and watched the apparently random treatment of diners for the duration of our stay. We could not determine the pattern of serve/not serve, but it was continuous.
