I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the City of Dreams for completely ruining my 30th birthday. We are frequent travelers, staying in resorts all over the world. I'll start with the good things, since there are so few. The rooms are very clean and they are nice (although not AS nice as other five star resorts in Limassol, like the Amara for example). But still, very high level. Housekeeping and room service were both very professional. The resort itself is also well kept and very clean. The resort is able to handle food allergies very well, which is a huge plus. As someone with multiple anaphylactic food allergies, they were able to safely accommodate me, which is not something I take for granted ever! Huge thank you to the chef and the waiters. And, thats about it for the good things. First of all, the resort is marketed towards families. We went for my 30th birthday with our baby and my husband's entire family (2 adults age 18 and 20, and 6 adults over 21. Plus a 1 year old baby). More than half of the resort was closed!! The adventure park? Closed. The kids aqua pool area? Closed. Surfrider? Closed. And no one told us this in advance. The only things open was the outdoor pools (but not the kids one) and an indoor pool next to the spa, and the ******. But the indoor heated pool only allows children until 12:00 noon everyday. Now about the ****** - it is situated in the exact middle of the resort, meaning if you want to get to any restaurant or lounge area or whatever, you have to walk through the ******. The ****** only allows entry for over 21 years old! They wouldn't even let the baby or the two adults 18 & 20 walk through the ******, meaning to get anywhere, we would have to walk all the way around the resort. Not only that, but out of 7 restaurants, only 3 were open for dinner, and ONLY 1 was open for lunch. There is also a restaurant in the ******, but we couldn't eat there obviously because the two adults under 21 were not allowed in, even to the restaurant. And dinner was disastrous because only 1 restaurant allows babies! We were forced to eat in the same exact restaurant every single the night (the Aura) which has a very limited menu that doesn't change at all. The front desk literally suggested that we just order room service. Are you joking?? We came all the way to this resort with 7 restaurants just to order room service and eat in the room?? There was also a wedding taking place during our stay, which they also did not inform us in advance about. So on various occasions, some of the very few restaurants were closed for an specific amount of time because of the wedding. One day for lunch, we were sitting at Aura restaurant eating, and towards the end they literally told us we have to get up and leave because the wedding has booked the entire restaurant. ***??? Lastly, we booked 3 rooms through the front desk, and one room was a ****** room. After the first night, they called us and said we will have to pay for
