We stayed for a night. Had very noisy neighbors who were listening really loud music. Had to call reception twice until they managed to solve the issue. Kinda ruined our experience. Overall a nice hotel, but a bit of renovation needed.

I booked a table for an evening meal last weekend for my husband and I to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Restaurant wasn't busy while we were there si that is nit an excuse but the service really wasn't good. My husband ordered soup & you would think nit must could be faulted with a bowl of soup but it was cold. It was rectified without an issue but really if you can't get a bowl of soup right !!!! Overall the meal was average, very expensive and really not worth the money. There are much better places to eat in Limerick but we were so disappointed. There was nothing special about it, presentation was just okay.

Had a brilliant weekend at the Strand. Clodagh (booking us in) and Siobhain (checking us out) were just fantastic and made the entire experience memorable. Views of the city were stunning, staff were wonderful, rooms were great, parking was easy, and the bar was first class with one of the nicest toasted sandwiches I have ever had.

The rooms could use a little updating, but tge customer service is excellent, especially the front desk crew and two of them stands out, Siobhain and another young lady with shoulder length blond hair, I wish I had her name, because she's so professional and friendly. Spot on all the time. I've stayed at this hotel for two months as my company books us there and always so nice. I'll miss them for the next six months or so. Now, about those rooms, could we get a bigger or higher level toilet bowl and seat. Figuring out the air/heat might take a masters degree from room to room. And the decor could use a little updating. A few times the rooms didn't get a thorough cleaning, maybe the houskeepers were in a rush. Love the gym, and the dining room attendant are absolutely great. Very pleasant and professional. The rooms reflect the four stars on this review.

Two calls to reception about noise starting at 11:30. Loud music coming from the event room on the lower level. I am on floor two and can't sleep. Seems there is no curfew on noise in their meeting spaces. Another call at 12:30 and was told that someone would go look, whatever that means. Music finally stopped about 1:30. Front desk management completely indifferent to my requirement to be able to sleep. Two weeks previous I stayed at the George on the other side of the river, which was superior in every way to the Strand. Location, service, and price.

We were on a driving tour of Ireland with friends and were stopping for one night in Limerick. We chose the Strand because it had secure onsite parking. The hotel was clean and modern and we had a good size room with a large bathroom with both a bath and a separate shower. We chose to eat at the hotel restaurant which turned out to be a mistake. Service was chaotic with mix ups on our order. My starter of prawn cocktail was tasteless although the main course was better I wish we had chosen to eat elsewhere. Breakfast was worse, there was no service, everything was DIY you even had to get your own tea or coffee from a machine.

Room was stinking of mold and mildew, asked whether the fan and AC can be repaired because they weren't working (hence, the mold in the shower and otherwise). Technicians say: no can't do anything. Then, the hotel has a spa area which is quite nice but for some reason, the staff aggressively and without any reasoning chuck everyone out 15 minutes BEFORE closing time. When asked why, they became even more aggressive. Calling reception, the answer was: 'Oh really?! We didn't know that...let me call them...oh, no one's answering!' What a surprise! When I asked the spa people to call reception to ask about this, also no one at reception answered! Then, wrote the general manager an email who never replied (even after leaving). Then had a call with the assistant manager who said he had to check with the spa manager, came back saying: we didn't know, they're saying that's just how it is. Offered us a free breakfast which was ok. Breakfast was really poor as well, more like a 3-star. This hotel is definitely not a 4-start. Avoid Limerick overall, the Savoy we stayed at was also more of an unclean 4-star hotel.

I booked here for Sunday lunch. It was very nice with lots of selection. The roast that was on offer was extremely good, and the desserts were very good. I could not fault the food at all. The only downside is that there are a few expenses; their drinks were very expensive. I got a bottle of Coke for my son, and it was one of those mixer bottles gone in one mouthful. I then had to pay for parking as well. This adds up. Apart from this, it was a very nice lunch.
