Hotel di , Lisbon

Location - The property is an iconic pink building in the heart of the city centre and located along the hilly slopes of the city. It seems it has an interesting history of being a former radio station as well as home to the first luxury warehouse in the city in the XIX century as well as of the first Portuguese public, which could explain its really quaint design. Room - My room at 22SqM was really cosy but looks exactly like it is in pics - 2pax would definitely be a squeeze though in that space. The narrow walkway is an easy indication of the limited space to come. They did still managed to fit a small wardrobe, safe, and small fridge with some shelving space to the right of the entrance way which I thought was quite impressive. There was a cute tote bag but I wasn't sure if it was for taking or stay-use only so left it alone. As a Bonvoy Elite (Platinum and above), the mini bar comes complimentary which I thought was quite generous even though it excluded the vodka and champagne - beers and snacks sound good enough! Breakfast - breakfast is served at Rocco from 6:30am-10:30am and is a semi buffet style where you pick a main with a small buffet laid out. It did take a while for the staff to bring me the menu which I thought was weird as I was only the 4th occupied table there. I selected the Avocado Toast with creamed spinach and disappointed to report that it was not good - they didn't even have real avocados in the dish but just avocado cream which I didn't expect from a property at this price point. The pros: -very close to metro station. - it was clean - I liked the friendliness of the staff - 24/7 reception - kettle, coffee maker in the room - the bed was comfortable and although the room was small i had everything needed The cons: -extremely thin walls, you could hear your neighbours conversations and peeing. -the room had a small window that I couldn't open and the view was on the corridor so you have to keep in blocked by curtains to avoid people looking at you. Which means, no natural light all stay - before my visit, I asked if the hotel if they can provide gluten free bread for breakfast, as I'm gluten intolerant, and they replied no. - the decor is cheap looking, this hotel pretend to be more fancy than it is in reality - shower doors didn't close properly, so every shower left me with flooding

There are three things that, in my opinion, separate this hotel from the rest: Location, because it is located in the center of everything Lisbon: attractions, restaurants, bars, and shops, all within walking distance from the hotel. Customer Service is second to none; they arrange our transportation from the airport to the hotel and back, they showed us all tour options available for our short stay, and everything with a smile and kind words. Last but not least, the buffet breakfast was amazing; too many options to choose from. Our next flight was scheduled at 6:30 am, and we were not able to have our breakfast, so they prepare 2 small boxes with our breakfasts, to have it on the go.

De Passage une nuit à Lisbonne, emplacement parfait, très central. Accueil très pro, très réactifs au téléphone pour arranger l’heure d’arrivée. Studio nickel et très spacieux, literie au top, en ce qui me concerne surclassement offert…minuscule bémol pour la salle de bain pour apporter un peu de critique constructive… j’y retourne demain sans hésiter..

My wife and I have just returned from a 5-day break at this lovely hotel in the wonderful city of Lisbon. The hotel is beautiful, perfectly located and staffed by the friendliest of people at reception, the restaurant, and all the way through to the cleaning team. They are a real credit to the hotel. Everything was perfect for us. In fact, our only complaint relates to the sore feet we suffered from all the walking we did around this historical and vibrant city. Thank you to the hotel team for a super stay.

Check in was a breeze, we were shown to our room and offered help with our luggage. Our room was 413, the biggest in the hotel. We had 2 balconies, one over looking the castle and the other the square. The room was very well appointed and we had complimentary wine and Portuguese custard tarts. There's a mini fridge and complimentary water EVERY day. A coffee machine and a good selection of teas. We were also given a voucher for a complimentary drink on arrival and 20% off our meal in the bar/restaurant. VERY GENEROUS!!! My husband is vegan and struggles to find options but he had a vegan calzone and it was delicious. I had carbonara again delicious. The Pizzeria is very popular with non guests too which is a good sign. The bedding was super high quality and we had bathrobes and slippers. The room was quiet with the doors and shutters but it was also lovely to have them open and hear the city sounds. Immaculately clean too with sumptuous complimentary toiletries. Staff are great and super helpful. On checking out we left our cases there and were even given an extending check out time of 1pm FOC, which was handy. We were then given ANOTHER FREE drink voucher, which was lovely and so generous. The amount of complimentary things offered at this hotel is beyond belief and not usual in this day and age. We are late risers so we skipped breakfast at the hotel, but next door there's another hotel and they do a breakfast buffet (VERY GOOD) for 10Euros until 10.30am. Another great place (separate review) is the Copenhagen Coffee Lab ( out of hotel and turn right, a few yards up). My only tiny negative is the lack of draws in the room, no bedside drawers either, literally nowhere to put our t-shirts, underwear etc, they had to stay in the case. Also hooks are needed in the bathroom to be able to hang up the bathrobes. A quick fix!! Overall I would highly recommend, such a central location too.

I am writing to express my gratitude to General Manager Hugo Diaz, Diana (Guest Services), and the entire staff at the Emerald House for making our visit truly memorable and special indeed. The staff went out of their way to be gracious and welcoming. Our arrival experience was way beyond what we expected, and we are grateful to Diana for the warm personal welcome and private check-in experience. My wife Sonia and I are and were truly delighted with the beautiful upgrade to the suite you provided. In addition to a huge room with a dining table, we had a private enclosed patio. Even as Diamond members, we can say that the experience delivered was totally unique and we will forever remember our time at Emerald House. Happy hour was very enjoyable and the complimentary breakfast as HHonors Diamond was exquisite. Highly, highly, recommend this hotel for its charm and elegance.

I went for a 2-week trip to Spain and Portugal with 2 friends, and this is the one with the best service. Immediate response to our request, e.g. making up the sofa bed (2 helpers immediately delivered an extra bed with blankets/ pillows and everything) And quite a lot of free refreshment in the room, e.g. pastels, a large bottle of free water, a small bottle of Port wine, coffee, etc...) And there is a kettle in the room (turned out what seems to be essential in most East-Asians hotels are not commonly provided in most hotels in Spain and Portugal, but this one got it!!) Would recommend it!

The Villa Baixa in Lisbon is a fantastic hotel with a prime location that makes it easy to explore the city's main attractions and access the train station. The one-bedroom apartment we stayed in featured a cozy balcony with a view of the pretty street below. The living area was well-furnished with a comfortable couch, coffee table, TV, and dining setup, making it feel like a home away from home. The kitchenette in our apartment was impressively equipped, including a small stove, refrigerator, and ample storage for food. This would have made it convenient to prepare meals during our stay, complemented by an array of kitchen utensils, cups, and plates. Additionally, the presence of a kettle and coffee maker with a limited supply of coffee pods was a thoughtful touch. The bathroom was spacious, with a large sink and a shower that offered excellent water pressure. The bedroom had a dark and quiet environment that ensured restful sleep, despite the bustling neighborhood outside. While the Villa Baixa does not offer on-site amenities and has limited front desk hours, the staff's friendliness and helpfulness made up for it. They were delightful and kind, contributing positively to our overall experience. However, it's worth noting that early arrivals may face challenges, as we did, when our red-eye flight left us waiting until 9 AM to check in. Despite these minor inconveniences, our stay was wonderful, and we would gladly return, especially with our seven-year-old daughter. Villa Baixa is a highly recommended choice for anyone visiting Lisbon!
