Dockside Aparthotel, BW Signature Collection

Great location. 2 bedroom both quiet & clean.  Just a little too soft for us about the mattress.

Very good hotel

There are aspects of our stay at the hotel that are good and others that are not good. I rated it was average as it is definitely not very good (rating available after average). If you want to access tourist attractions near the river front in Liverpool such as the Albert Dock, Immigration Museum, Pier Head, Beatles Statue, Liver Building, etc. it's in a great location (less than 10 mins walk to Albert Dock). If you want access to the centre of time it's a 15-20 minute walk up hill or a 5 min Uber. Check-in was straightforward and efficient. We had a 2 bedroom apartment (included a kitchen and separate living area) which was very spacious. I would not recommend breakfast. A number of breakfast items (porridge, yoghurt, packaged pastry) are placed in a paper bag and then provided each morning.

I’d like to share with you, my review of dockside apartments in Liverpool and hope that you can avoid the problems that I had. Firstly the apartments are conveniently located on the docks and very clean. We arrived at the apartment/hotel and was allocated an apartment 607 but after entering the room and finding an unpleasant smell we were allocated another room 207 which type of apartment and was told this is the only other one available as the hotel was full. After entering this next room we found firstly there was only 3 soft seats available (2 seater settee and a single chair plus 4 dining chairs despite this apartment being designed for 4 occupants and the web page showing four soft seats. We found the second bedroom to have no windows and it was so small it didn’t have any wardrobes and not even a single hook to hang a dressing gown, (this was not apparent on the web site). As others have mentioned the mattresses on the beds are clearly of questionable quality and springs can be felt. The biggest problem with this type of apartment is the ventilation system in both bedrooms which is interconnected to the bathroom and a cupboard in the living room which is working 24 seven and can be clearly heard especially in the dead of night and culminated in all four occupants getting very little sleep. We raised our concerns about these issues with the general manager who was totally in denial, unapologetic and very dismissive about these serious shortcomings. Indeed this is not a situation I would ever want to find myself in again especially at a cost of over £300 per night which is what we paid and I would urge you to check if you are allocated one of these rooms.

The apartment was amazing, the views out of the window were great and the room was spotless. We needed the sofa bed made up in our room and the girl on reception desk (think her name was chloe) come up immediately and set it up for us and got us extra towels. Will definitely be staying again.

When we arrived the outside looked a little bit disappointing, don’t be put off! The staff were very pleasant and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Our apartment was spacious, clean and comfortable with a spacious bathroom and lovely shower. Everything was in there you would need. We normally wouldn’t stay in this type of room but it made a lovely change to have the space and comfort. We were five minutes walk from the bars, restaurants and cafes in Albert Dock and about a ten minute walk from Liverpool One. Nice and close to everything but the apartment was very peaceful. We enjoyed our stay in Liverpool and hopefully will be back and definitely stay here again. Also close to the M&S and AO arenas, perfect if you’re attending an event here. Ample parking very close. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable. Next time we will bring Aynsley some oatcakes!
