On Day 3 (April 18, 2023) we decided we had to leave this apartment and '***********' are not cooperating and making it difficult for us in relation to a refund. The property is a major health and safety hazard. First of all, it is dirty from floor to ceiling. Forget bare feet on the floors .. the carpet most likely has never been cleaned. There is a sewer smell that seems to be coming from the kitchen, a smell that we had to breathe in during the night, which caused us to feel nauseous in the morning. The windows also appeared never to have been cleaned, and through the filth the view outside is of overgrown weeds riddled with rubbish. The photographs on *********** are enhanced to make the appearance look warm, clean and inviting. We were shocked when we arrived for our 2 week stay. Outside on the front step, two bars of used soap were in front of the door, one of which I almost slipped on. In the hallways, the walls were lined with rubbish which is both a health and safety hazard. There are 4 flights of stairs up to the apartment. On the 2nd or 3rd landing there are dirty quilts and blankets thrown over a cupboard against the wall. There was also a vacuum cleaner sitting in the middle of the landing which we had to move out of the way. Also, no safely instructions were left for us. No fire exit plan or signage. The place is a fire trap. We had no heating. The owner arranged for a tradesman to fix this. We had to rearrange our holiday plans to be present. The tradesman was 2 hours late and he told us that a part had to be ordered and that he would have to return to fix the problem. At first he said he would be back the next day, then within 2 minutes he said 2 days. This problem should have been fixed before any tenants occupied the apartment.. not during our holiday. We did not spend thousands of dollars to wait around in a stinking apartment for tradesmen. The sofa that is advertised as a bed to sleep on was filthy. We had to cover it with a sheet because it was not healthy to sit on. On one of the sheets on the bed, I found a small squashed bug that was stuck into the fabric and my skin itched from Day one after sleeping in that bed. Our stay was supposed to be 2 weeks and we had to ask for more towels, as we were only given one towel each. No bathroom mat was supplied and the bathroom floor was filthy. Don't be deceived by the photos on ***********. The bathroom is so small you can hardly move in it. *********** have been notified and their response was that they require documentation in relation to our verbal discussion with the tradesman re fixing the heating in which we were unhappy about the fact that we had to spend our hard earned holiday waiting around in that apartment for tradesmen to fix a heating system that obviously had not worked properly before we arrived. When we confronted the owner, we were told that this was the standard to expect in the area. My answer was that the photographs supplied in Booking
