The perfect place to stay in Lugano. Family-run, the staff are just so welcoming and, for Switzerland at any rate, it’s good value. I stayed for three nights and had dinner each evening. The four-course ‘menu’ is exceptionally well priced at SFr 44 (£37) if you book half-board. The food was delicious and served in copious quantities. Drinks prices are also inexpensive by Swiss standards. The hotel’s location, a 5-minute step-free walk from Lugano station, is also excellent. The hotel building is quite old but the facilities in the public areas and rooms are thoroughly up to date. I’d not hesitate to return. My thanks to all the staff for their care and welcome.

La chambre souhaitée (encore merci!) est magnifique et impeccable avec sa grande fenêtre, oreillers à choix , lit confortable, salle de bain avec fenêtre et tablettes ; grand coin bureau avec chaise rembourrée, frigo et excellente machine à café Caffe d'Italia. Nombreuses lampes pour un éclairage parfait. Délicieux petit déjeuner avec fruits frais et cappuccino remarquable, salé et sucré variés. Situation idéale en plein centre, à quelques pas de la gare et du lac, des boutiques, restaurants et musées. Hôtel à recommander sans hésiter.

Last minute booking here after I missed my train and had to suddenly rearrange travel plans. Staff super friendly and the lady even stayed late to let me in and kept good communication by email. I had a lovely big private room with comfortable bed and a sink. The hostel is in a superb location and in lovely grounds (I wish I had been able to stay long enough to use the pool!). As it is a hostel the facilities were fairly basic and there was some early morning noise from people as my room was next to reception (get a room upstairs if possible), but nothing unreasonable or unexpected. I would definitely stay here again and recommended it to others I met on my travels

Per lavoro Ho soggiornato presso questo hotel almeno un giorno alla settimana nell' arco dell' ultimo anno. Non posso che esserne entusiasta, in tutto e per tutto. La cordialità e la disponibilità dei proprietari, la squisitezza della cucina, le camere, la location: appena fuori dal centro di Lugano, in una posizione strategica. Un ambiente molto accogliente, una vista incantevole. La terrazza è superlativa, un angolo di pace dove rilassarsi e stare bene. Il rapporto Qualità/ prezzo, assicuro, è ottimo.

Hotel Splendidie is a grand hotel in an impressive building and many parts of the building are impressive. However many aspects of this hotel are disappointing and I even question it being 5 star! We stayed in a Palace Deluxe double room, with lake view and large balcony. The room was spacious and well laid out, but was let down by a set of IKEA (like) wardrobes that didn’t fit at all! The balcony was nice but there is a very busy road between the hotel and lake and there is a lot of road noise. The hotel has 2 main restaurants, we only used the Veranda, which was fine but nothing special. We also used the out side bar which was a third place you could eat, with Pizzeria being available in the evenings as well. This whole area was nice but it just felt like a pop up bar, it lacked any real splendour and comfort we have seen in so many other 5 star hotels. On the Thursday evening they hosted “market place” pop up restaurant that we booked – the evening was pleasant enough but all the staff were on edge and I suspect this was the first time they had put it on. Overall the food was simple eg cold meats & cheeses; pasta; BBQ and Pizza, certainly nothing special! The other strange thing was there was a beautiful bar in side, that was only used if it rained – why not have both open? The outside is space is small and there is no outdoor pool which isn’t great and no access to the lake. Staff were OK but didn’t really make you feel welcome, they often appeared on edge. This hotel could be so much better!

The arrival is unwelcoming and impersonal. We didn’t even get a smile, much less any information to the amenities. I was then sent on an odyssey to find the room down a confusing maze of corridors, overly decorated with scores of faux Roman busts. The room itself was a very good size but the decor faded and scratched. The carpet stained, the air con noisy. One of the chairs was broken. The style is smart late 1980’s, certainly not to current styles. There is a peculiar little kitchenette but without anything to make use of it. Not even a kettle, much less any complimentary coffee or tea which I would expect at the price. On the first night we slept on pillows that were hard like bags of flower, the second night I requested softer pillows which were provided. There isn’t a shower, merely a shower attachment in the bath and flimsy plastic cups instead of proper glasses for toothbrushes. The breakfast was included and is standard Swiss buffet, adequate but nothing special. Especially the reconstituted catering scrambled egg was disappointing. What makes this hotel, is the beautifully kept garden and well maintained pool area. But generally speaking, I feel this is quite overpriced and not good value for money.

Very good staff and facilities. A relaxing experience by Lake Lugano. They really pay attention to details (in our case, a surprise bday cake). They even have a transfer service to Lugano center. A 15 minutes drive to the outlet stores in Mendrisio.

I first wrote a review on this lovely little hotel in autumn 2021 and remarked that we would return to the hotel if ever in the region again. Fate has it that we have been back to and through the Ticino region of Switzerland again every year since and have returned to the Hotel La Tureta a further five times. This speaks for itself, I believe. La Tureta obviously suits us very well, the friendliness of the staff, cleanliness of the hotel, comfort of the beds and good food at their restaurant. No frills, but very appealing. We have made a point of planning our route to be able to stay at La Tureta, the only drawback being that we have never had the opportunity to stay longer than one day/night, much to our regret. But we will continue to return and recommend this delightful hotel to anyone in the Bellinzona region.

JJun JieLuganodante definitely like you (us)! Staff were welcoming and knowledgeable. Room is clean and cosy. Had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant/bistro - flame grill - awesome service! The only regret was staying there for just one night, wish we had stayed longer. Will definitely choose to stay at Luganodante again if we are back. Thank you team!
IMPORTANT TIP: please take the funicular - Lugano Città - from the Lugano Stazione to the hotel (just stop outside the hotel, very convenient). If feeling adventurous, proceed to enjoy the walk/hike down to the hotel from the station.

PPengguna TetamuI am sure this hotel was once lovely, however its position is now blighted by the train station which is literally by its front door, the noise is very intrusive and the whole hotel felt it was past it's prime. We were in the main hotel but the rooms were poky, hardly room to move, no-where to put your suitcases, a view of a brick wall, ripped curtains, no toiletries to speak of and no water provided or any facilities at all, you could not make a coffee and there were not even cups to put your own water in. The towels were tiny, thin as paper and scratchy, probably the worst towels in a hotel I have ever come across! The food in the restaurant was good, breakfasts had ample choice for everyone. Staff very friendly, which was it's only saving grace, but there are better places to stay- we would not recommend.

PPengguna TetamuLugano, the perfect mix of modern Switzerland and old-school Italian flair, is quirky, beautiful and delicious. So is Hotel Atlantico. Aged like a fine wine, current in its’ ability to anticipate modern travelers needs, THIS is the place to stay if you want to live like a local. All the local attractions are easy to walk to and the multilingual Elizabeth excels in role as Manager, concierge and while you’re there it feels like you’re old friends. The place is unique, quaint and well maintained. The breakfast ROCKs and so do the staff and atmosphere. Danke, Grazie, Merci, Thank You.

PPengguna TetamuMy biggest mistake was I only spent two nights at this hotel. And YOUR biggest mistake would be NOT to get a room facing one of the most beautiful lakes in Europe. And we're talking a REAL view. If it wasn't for the swimming pool right underneath, you could throw yourself directly into the ocean. The hotel is a mile from downtown which is perfect. The rooms are beautiful and the breakfast is fantastic because of that view. I made the mistake of moving to a cheaper hotel in Lugano for the second part of my trip. I will never do that again. I'm going to stay at the Lido Seegarten next time I'm in Ticino.

The best thing about a vacation is to rest well and have a delicious breakfast and this hotel has it all, a first class service, with high quality care, I have to mention what caught my attention the most was the hygiene at breakfast time is very Important for me. I don't have many photos but I do have videos that I can't upload here from the hotel but I have it on my Instagram karol__0729….Very satisfied with our stay, just need to implement the parking

PPengguna Tetamuby: Michael Chrisman Perfectly located near Lake Lugano and main rail & bus services for this marvellously family owned and run hotel. Great attention to detail by its proprietor Learco Bernasconi and wife along with desk administrator Leila who all keep it spotlessly clean and are always only too glad to please and recommend things without being overly fussy. Hotel offers free local transport voucher which also includes a number of discountable Lugano attractions. Attached bistro restaurant/pizzeria offers a menu which is frequently changed during the week to keep it fresh and interesting. Well and moderately price rooms which include breakfast offering a continental style spread. Overall- literally little if anything to complain of. Very much in the Swiss tradition of hotel management. For people looking for a well run 3-3.5 star accommodation.

PPengguna TetamuThis unassuming hotel right in the heart of the shopping district of Lugano was an excellent value for expensive Switzerland. I was able to upgrade to a larger room than originally planned and it was still smallish but comfortable with a narrow view of Lake Lugano. The staff is very helpful and works hard to make sure their guests are comfortable.
