Le Saint Erasme, Hotel Eco Friendly

We had a fantastic stay in Hotel St Erasme. It’s a small, family-run hotel, with incredibly kind and friendly staff, and a great vibe. We booked a cheaper room and it was cosy, with a countryside-view, but we had a balcony which was lovely and a huge bathroom. Our stay coincided with Storm Boris so we ate in the hotel on our first night, rather than venture into the town. The food was delicious, and the bar served only local drinks, so we had delicious Corsican wines and beer. We spent a day by the pool which is small, as others have said, but very clean and with great views. The car park was full when we arrived, and free parking on the road was limited. There is a small free area for parking cars both opposite (the space with the memorial cross) and a few spaces outside the hotel, just off the main road, going uphill. We would highly recommend this hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at the St Erasme, so much so that we extended our stay. The hotel is an easy 5 minute walk from the Citadel with views over the bay and easy acces s to the coastal path and the sea. The rooms are spacious, thoughtfully designed and in some cases with wonderful sea views. We ate at the restaurant on one evening and the food was outstanding. The vegan options were imaginative and superbly delivered. The only criticism from a vegan perspective would be the lack of vegan options for cooked breakfast given the 16 Euro Fee, some sauteed aubergine, tomato or Zuccini would be a good accompaniment to the potatoes. That said, again from a vegan perspective the hotel has plant based milk options and provided a plant based chia pudding for me on each day of our stay. We plan to return!

An excellent experience, in a hotel where we stayed in spacious rooms overlooking the sea, with comfortable beds, which allowed us to rest from the very active life we ​​had in Corsica. But the best of all was breakfast, which we paid for separately. The experience began with the crockery, which we later discovered was made of clay, not only because of its design but also because it was made in a factory in Batalha, Portugal, which has been in business for over 100 years. Then, the coffee and latte, long and tasty, the bread, crispy and soft, very fresh, the sheep and goat cheeses, some of the best I've tasted on the island, the orange juice, freshly squeezed, the fruit, and the fruit salad, with a touch of mint, a variety of teas, sausages and hams and so on. The view over the bay is magnificent and the weather helped us enjoy being there. I would like to add the friendliness of the staff, even a little better than in other places we were on the island.

The breakfast served Nescafé and not real coffee and the food was okay but not good. Dinner had a limited menu but was excellent. The toilet in our room offered no privacy with a sliding plastic door. The room could not have held a large luggage. We had 2 small so it worked. The bed was fine.

3 people (2 adults, one child). We rent a nice, clean and comfortable bedroom, with a marvellous sight on the Revellata. Queen size bed for the adults, 90 cm bed in a separated room for the child. Big TV in the main room, bathroom with a large shower. The old town center and the citadel are within a few minutes walk. We strongly recommend this place !

We have stayed at Hotel Le Saint Erasme for many years and it is the perfect place to enjoy the town of Calvi. Everything is excellent; from the ambiance and decor of the hotel to the friendly, welcoming service by the team. The best situation to enjoy the magnificent views as well!

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay at this hotel whilst on a tour of Corsica. We had a family room (double bed with a separate single in an alcove - which we used for luggage/as a dress room!) with a wonderful sea view across the hotel pool to the peninsula with its lighthouse, which was even more beautiful at sunset (see pic). One of the plus points for us with this hotel (contrary to the previous reviewer feedback) was the fact that we didn't have to spend circa 16 euros per person each morning on a buffet breakfast, unlike the other hotels we stayed in during our 2 weeks on the island. Here we were presented with a menu and could tick the items we wished to have and pay for them accordingly, ie hot drink, orange juice, pain au chocolat, croissant etc which worked out more economical and avoided us paying over the odds for food we didn't need. The pastries were also the best we had in a hotel during this holiday! Hot drink refills were available. The hotel pool was heated and lovely for a dip after a day out, and a real suntrap in the evening. There is a smallish car park belonging to the hotel and immediately behind it, but it isn't big enough when the hotel is full so some cars parked on the small side street and I think it may be a problem at peak times. Its a steep walk either down or up (depending on where you park) to reception so not good for those with limited mobility. It was a pleasant walk to the citadel and then down to the harbour for those of average fitness - one day we walked into town and took the train to Ile Rousse and back, which was scenic and a nice break from driving. There are some nice restaurants in the pedestrian street which runs one block back behind the harbour we would recommend A Cantina di Delia (tapas type dishes available which were very good) and Restaurant Santa Maria with al fresco dining in front of the church of that name.

Our room was perfect for our little family with a beautiful view across to the lighthouse and enough space for our week away. The breakfast was a treat and the pool was clean and never too busy. The parking can be a hassle if you arrive late from a day out but also convenient as parking in Calvi is a pain anyway. Thanks to the lovely staff, Merci beaucoup

Huge family room with beautiful view. Very friendly team. Breakfast in the garden ( unfortunately no buffet, but very good quality and fresh orange juice). 10 minutes away from the citadel. Highly recommend this boutique hôtel.
