The management has no integrity. Due to a verified death in my family, we requested a refund; they were the ONLY management that absolutely refused. When I attempted to reschedule for a week later, they claimed they had no availability; this was a blatant untruth. I went on the app and booked a room; when I informed them of their inaccuracy, they claimed that I had been lucky (verbatim). They got the last laugh when they charged me 1900 francs (yes 1900) for my final night when other adjacent properties were charging 400 francs. Lastly - importantly - they have no fitness center ( you have to go down the street to one of the hotels that charge less). Further, their restaurant is in the basement; it has no view and no ambience whatsoever. Horrendous.

I was first thinking that ok..this will be a regular hotel room..and Marriotts are nice.. I was wrong.. IT is not just a Marriott. It is a beautiful more like a boutique type hotel. The staff were great. The location is a short distance from the train station and everything is close and walkable. The hotel gave a transportation pass for the entire city. We used the bus to come back into town and it was easy (first time I took a bus in 40 years) All the main attractions for downtown are right there. The shower...best shower I have ever had in my life. The bed was very comfortable and I slept soundly with out outside noise ever even being heard. The dinner in the hotel will not get a thumbs up, skip that one, but the breakfast was outstanding and one of the best we had in Switzerland. It was a buffet and made to order eggs and pancakes. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed 5 nights in this hotel in a junior suite. Pros: very clean hotel, wonderful service, convenient location Cons: hotel is located on a very busy and loud street, impossible to open a window even if you are on the top floor. The bed is very very hard and the pillows are so soft (you simply sink in it) so it was almost impossible to have a good rest at night. I did complain several times and requested another pillow, however I was told that the hotel doesn't have any other pillows. The bathroom has a separate shower, but the cabin is very very small, I would say 2 x2 feet. I am a very petite woman size 0, and was very uncomfortable not only to sleep in this hotel, but also to take a shower. Overall, even though the service in the hotel was wonderful, I would not stay there again, for the money that I have paid it was too much of a discomfort.

Large stately hotel. the hotel also has residences which means less hotel guests and traffic (in a good way). i generally look for hotels with pools and saunas attached and the pool area has was beautiful was outdoor patio with view of alps and lakes. Lockers, robes and slippers provided. i had room #205 which had peekaboo view of lake and mainly a rooftop, I suspect City View rooms would be noisy with busy road in front. book lake view if possible. the front staff was lovely and very helpful. They were very accommodating in trying to sort out my room. I could have been made to move after the 1st night but to their credit - saw it was easier to keep me in the same room. restaurant and bar with outdoor seating looking out towards lake and promenade. Heavenly!

Slow unmotivated Service with an attitude. Long time to wait to order and a long time to receive the drinks, just after complaining.....and the attitude came from the ”Chef de Service”. Don't be fooled by the gorgeous exterior photo of this hotel. There is no grand lobby to speak of that you would expect to match the building facade. Rather there is no lobby!!! As you enter the building there is a Starbucks to the left and a Covid testing facility to the right with people in line waiting to get tested that you need to walk by. Around a corridor you will find the reception - and that is where the bad part of this report starts. We had booked a Deluxe Design Suite and when we checked in that is was the room type written on our reservation card. We got our room key and walked back by the covid testing line and waited amongst them for the elevator. Up to our room and no special area of hotel as promised, no shower in room - just a tub with no curtain, no double sink, no electric blinds, and a room less than half the size as advertised. We go back down to the lobby and told them that the room was not the one we booked. They argued with us that it was indeed what we booked despite it missing the features and size they advertised. They had the nerve to say to us ”.......we didn't know having a shower was a criteria for you......”. They said they had no other rooms and offered us nothing in compensation other than we could switch rooms the next day. We went back to the room contemplating whether we would try and find another hotel and after a few minutes the front desk called and said another room had come available. A different clerk brings us a new key and shows us to a different room in the ”special” area of hotel - same hallway except you needed to use your key to access a door blocking the hallway to an identical hall - nothing special here like having a concierge lounge etc etc. This new room was closer to what we booked so we accepted it. We stayed four nights and everything was ok except they did not replenish the bottled water each day - told us 2 one litre bottles per stay not per night. I would not have written a review except fir what happened upon check-out. A manager checked us out and asked how our stay was and our response was fine after they got our room sorted out. She looked at the reservation and said well the room you booked was what you were originally placed in and then proceeded to argue with us that there was no difference between the rooms and that not all Deluxe Design Suites come with a shower. Rather than argue with her we walked out pissed off at them once again.

Overall it was a decent place to stay at purely for it's location as it's a 5 minute walk from the main station. The lobby is really new and modern but the rooms and toilet are a tad old. However, I must commend the staff who really went out of the way to make our stay special as it was our honeymoon and they gave us chocolates and rose petals. Thank you so much!

Hotel location is fantastic. Less than 1 minute walk from the information center located from the train station. Hotel room is fine but the edges of the bed frame protrude out hence one needs to be more cautious. We arrive at 7pm on a Sunday evening and check in was quick. Will appreciate if WiFi password and Lucerne Visitor card are given upon check in instead of having to request for it. At 11pm, when i tried to input the WiFi username and password, it shows Credit used up. I called the reception for assistance and was told to come down to the reception. After going down, I was given another print out of the WiFi username and password. I do not understand why this cannot be communicated over the phone. Went back to the room, tried the new username and password and it still doesn't work. Only managed to login to the WiFi the following morning when I went to the reception and get another user ID and password. Not sure if this is common in Switzerland but this sure is my first encounter.

The Radisson is steps from the train station and is very close to Lake Lucerne. I had not signed up for the rewards program and the kind gentleman at check in signed me up. I arrived early in the am and was able to store my luggage for check in later. The rooms are clean, modern and basic. They have AC , a refrigerator, n espresso machine, hair dryer, bathtub and shower combo and big bottles of toiletries to use. The flooring is a mixture of carpeting and faux hard wood. My room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. I did not get a chance to try out the gym or restaurant because I left so early each day. I also noticed that this hotel was used by Viking cruise groups. I enjoyed my stay and found it all to be within walking distance.

I was really excited to start travelling after 2 years hiatus. I chose Switzerland as I had already made plans for the a 3 weeks trip in May 2020. I had to cancel it due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I picked Alpina Hotel in Luzerne due to its great loation and affordability. It is near many eateries and other attractions. I booked 2 rooms; 338 and 339. We get to enjoy the street view and marvelled at the beautiful building opposite our rooms. I noticed that the opposite building was built in 1537 [ need to confirm this ]. The street was generally quiet except in the mornings when rubbish trucks cleared did their cleaning. The room has simple layout and mine has 2 sinks in the living area. The bed and pillows area are comfortable. The bathroom is small but all items worked well. I did not see any staff at Alpina as most of them were based at the nearby sister hotel, The Monopol, which is located about 20m away. Checking in was fast and easy and it was done at Monopol. I was grateful for all the guidance and assistance provided by the receptionist. Alpina hotel is located about 110m away from Luzerne Train Station and it was relatively easy to find. My room ; 339 is bigger than 338. All in all, I had a really great experience staying in this hotel.

Stayed for 2 nights at this hotel, we booked the room for 4 peoples and we came with 5 peoples instead because we booked it through an app, i intend to pay the additional bf and charges at the spot. All the staff are friendly and a lot of smile except one, which i guess is the boss. In the morning when we are going to have bf i talk to the receptionist or the boss about paying for an extra charge for another person. He look at me with anger and said he is pissed of me because of having 5 peoples instead of 4 allowed . Im willing to pay for an extra charge and asked for his help to find me another room but his reply really surprised me, he said he is fully booked and insisted one of my family member to move out today, he said it is not his problem. Well this is something new for me, a hotel with a boss acting as receptionist, and a hospitality industry that evicting a customer who is willing to pay. In the end he deactivated my key card and make my mother and my wife abandoned in the lobby waiting for me to talk to the boss to reactivate the key card. When i go talk to him ,he already waiting with another key for another room . He said i have a single room available for you to rent and it will cost you Chf 120 for one night. Why dont he said that in the morning when I talk to him ? Is he did it to show me that he is in power ? Well the question is, is it legal for him to lock my room ,which i had pay in full, just to make me come to him, instead of him talk to me and ask me to pay extra ? So many drama in altstadt krone hotel. Now the reviews Lobby is minimalist Room is standard Bathroom empty shampoo dispenser Breakfast standard selection but the taste is delicious Location is the best Hotel staff is friendly And Drama is plenty
