NEVER EVER AGAIN!!! I deeply regret recounting a disheartening array of issues during our stay at the hotel: Upon arrival, our assigned room was not only in a state of severe disrepair but also shockingly unclean. Despite a room change, persistent problems like a leaking toilet and malfunctioning air conditioning plagued our experience. Maintenance interventions, notably during planned fishing excursions, only heightened our frustration. Things that were mentioned in the folder are not even true, plus they lied about the constitution that was going on above our room, they promised that it will stop in the weekend but never did. Plus what bothered me was that the towels are not fresh and hygiene is far far from the norm. Dinner, scheduled at 20:00, was hindered by our aversion to spicy Indian cuisine, and the sleeping conditions were marred by disruptive noise, slamming doors, and inconsiderate fellow guests. Efforts to engage with the director for resolution were met with disappointment, as our concerns remained unaddressed. Scheduled activities faced setbacks, with delays and cancellations affecting a half-day excursion and a fishing trip due to a broken engine and adverse weather conditions. The subsequent request for a payment totaling 610 USD seemed disproportionate, leading us to cut our stay short after the second day. The half-day trip to Gulhi Island, conducted on an aged and sluggish boat, offered unappealing surroundings with an unpleasant odor. Promised photographs and videos of our experience were not delivered, intensifying our disappointment. Hand-fishing proved unproductive and induced seasickness amid high waves. Despite these challenges, it's important to commend a responsive woman who earnestly sought to rectify our grievances. Additionally, Mr. K's consistent politeness and assistance, especially in facilitating our return from the hotel to the boat, were notable. Unfortunately, despite these positive interactions, our honeymoon experience concluded on an unsatisfactory note, leaving us profoundly disheartened and dissatisfied with the overall quality of our stay.

We stayed at Icom Hotels in Masfushi this August, and it was a great experience. The warmth of the staff made us feel welcome from the start, starting with the hospitality of the housekeeper up to Ali Adam, the General Manager, whose support and guidance made our stay feel like home. The company also offers trip services, which was perfect for us as active travelers. We enjoyed exploring the area and appreciated the recommendations for various activities. Finally, we’d like to extend our gratitude to Moosh, who took great care of us and was an incredible guide in helping us conquer the ocean. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the attentive service. We look forward to coming back!

It is a small island and there is one public beach (also called bikini beach). The location is between speedboat pier and bikini beach. In the tiny island arena and kaani hotel are the only two that are about 2-3 star hotel category others are more like guesthouse. incl. cyrstal sands. The building is noce from outside. the rooms are aged and there are mold at the corners and broken furnitures etc. We had problems with electricity it is gone several times. for above 130usd a night price in March, I found it very expensive (before covid we paid similar hotel 60-70 usd only). the prices in general seems to be much higher meanwhile not only this one. For dinner, 5-10minutes walk arena beach buffet for 18usd is very good offer. hotels own food offer is very limited. Staff is in general friendly and good. It is an option if you want to conduct day trips and use it for sleeping only.

El hotel Kaani Village forma parte de una cadena hotelera en la isla. El trato ha sido excelente desde el recibimiento, donde no tuvimos que llevar las maletas en ningún momento. La primera persona con la que tuvimos contacto fue con Magic, que nos dio su número de teléfono para cualquier cosa que pudiera pasar. La habitación tiene todas las comodidades: baño amplio, cama grande, enchufes, wifi, aire acondicionado, ventilador, mucha luz artificial y natural, así como acceso a la piscina interior. La playa está a menos de 2 minutos andando. El hotel ofrece todos los servicios directamente, sin terceros. Nosotros hemos hecho excursiones en las que hemos nadado con tiburones, tortugas, hemos visto el arrecife de coral, hemos jugado con las mantas raya y hemos comido en islas desiertas. Además los monitores que nos han tocado han tenido una atención impecable. Hemos coincidido con gente de muchas culturas y se nota el respeto que hay en general. El precio por excursión es de 30-50$ por persona, lo cual es muy asequible teniendo en cuenta que pasas gran parte del día fuera y te incluyen la comida. También ofrecen deportes acuáticos. Nosotros no hemos podido hacerlos porque nos ha faltado algo de tiempo en la isla. Hemos estado aquí 5 noches. En cuanto a la comida, nos hicieron una mejora respecto de lo que habíamos contratado y todas las comidas (desayuno, mediodía y cena) han sido en el Kaani Palm, que está en primera línea de playa. También nos dieron acceso sin mayor coste a la piscina infinita que tienen en la planta 9. Las vistas son increíbles. La playa que está enfrente es privada y sólo pueden acceder los residentes del hotel. En esta playa se puede ir en bikini sin problemas. Hay acomodadores que se encargan de todo lo que te pueda faltar: tumbona, bebidas, comida... Cabe destacar que la isla es una mezcla entre varias cadenas hoteleras y casa particulares de gente que reside aquí, por lo que no es tan artificial como si fuera una isla desierta con un resort. Hay muchos gatos que están muy humanizados, son buenos y se dejan acariciar. En general la experiencia ha sido muy positiva. Si tuviéramos que recomendar el viaje sólo aumentaríamos 1 o 2 días la estancia para poder hacer lo poco que nos ha faltado.

Masala Street (inside White Shell Hotel): The entrance looks very fancy but when you step in, it's a kind of a let down where they have a plain room with tables and chairs put together. As this restaurant is attached to White Shell Island Hotel and Spa, their menu prices are all in USD, as is the case with all such other restaurants in Maafushi Island that are tied with a hotel. On the other hand, it seems that stand alone restaurants charge in MVR. A major negative is that they charge a 4% fee on the Bill of you pay by card, which doesn't apply if you pay by cash. The moment we told that we don't have USD and were about to walk out, the person said it's ok that we pay by card and he'll waive off the 4% fee. LOL! We had ordered Veg. Kadhai and Rotis (because their tandoor wasn't operational, so we couldn't have had naan) and were pleasantly surprised by the taste. It was very much like typical Indian taste. The rotis were phulka and served piping hot adding to the good experience. We would visit again, just for the taste.

For the price, it was great! We booked the double deluxe with the balcony (sea view). Although, it’s a basic hotel compared to the many all-inclusive hotels in the Maldives, it is still a good hotel . We had to go to their other hotel (just a minute away) for breakfast. There are a lot of choices, although, if you stay in their hotel for more than 3 nights, you might feel that there is not much choices. However, there are a lot of restaurants in front of the hotel.

We stayed as a family for 3 nights in the quadruple room which was spacious enough for 2 adults and 3 children to sleep comfortably. The quadruple rooms do not face the sea. The condition of the room is excellent and the hotels seems to be well maintained. Service wise, the staff are generally polite. The breakfast had limited options. Be warned, the cats literally dine with you in the restaurant and it appears to be a problem across the island. The beach is nice although it is not maintained as it should be. There were plenty of sun beds available. Water sports are very reasonably priced compared to average prices in Maldives. Overall, pleasant stay.

The staff is rude and uncooperative, especially their operation manager , a very malicious and provocative person. The hotel is not 4 stars at all. Before and after the hotel is a construction area, which makes it a very dirty place. The restaurant smells rancid and the food is bad. We could not eat a bite, even the water glasses smelled bad. The session The interior and exterior are lousy, and the disaster is that the beach and the sea are not beautiful, as if you are in a poor village that is not in the Maldives. Our children’s room was dirty and full of insects, and when we told them they just sprayed insecticide and caused our children allergies, the balcony is not soundproofed and all the noise and drums on the beach and the street you hear while you are inside the room, we could not sleep That night, one hour, even the voices of people in the entrance can be heard, and the curtains are not light-proof, the bed and pillows are very bad, we stayed one night and asked to checke out early and that they have to return to us part of the payment of the remaining four nights and for two rooms .we checked out to find out that they deducted all the booking and the high tax and the 5 breakfasts with the green tax with careLess and disregards from their manager . It was the most terrible hotel in Maldives with the biggest lose

As a newlywed couple, our honeymoon in the Maldives was an absolute dream, and it wouldn't have been the same without the exceptional service we received at Arena Beach Hotel. Their professionalism and willingness to assist were truly appreciated, and they went above and beyond to ensure that all our needs were met. On the culinary front, Nipuna and Janith, the talented chefs at Arena Beach Hotel, took our dining experience to a whole new level. Their culinary creations were nothing short of exquisite, and each meal was a delightful journey of flavors. From delectable breakfasts to romantic dinners by the shore, Nipuna and Janith's culinary skills added an extra layer of magic to our honeymoon. The accommodations were luxurious, offering breathtaking views and all the comforts one could ask for. The pristine beaches and turquoise waters of the Maldives provided the perfect backdrop for romance and relaxation. Our gratitude goes out to all the staff at Arena Beach Hotel including Themiya, Ruwan, Nipuna, and Janith for their unwavering dedication to ensuring that our honeymoon was an unforgettable experience. Their contributions truly made a difference, and we are immensely thankful for their efforts. This is our first time visiting Maldives and we have choose Cocoa Island. I would like to highlight some staffs who have a great attitude and we are highly appreciate it. Maru from the restaurant, Every day, we were greeted with his smiles and an impressive variety of dishes. The food is so good and delicious. My wife, who doesn’t swim, thanks to the great guidance of Ali and Imma from the sport center. They are professional and made my wife know how beautiful under the water. Lastly, Minnu from housekeeping was a young and helpful fellow who ensured our stay was comfortable and pleasant. I absolutely fell in love with this little island and can’t wait to return!
