Hotel Mackay dengan Gim

A very clean room and nicely presented but... 1. Large amounts of pigeon poo streaked down the very large bedroom window which looked pretty disgusting so I kept the curtain shut... 2. If you stay on a Saturday night, you WON'T sleep as there are teenagers causing havoc in the street below (shouting loudly and swearing and drinking) in the middle of the night... 3. Possibly an honest oversight but there was no washing up detergent or dishwasher tablets and as the office is unattended between 6pm and 9am, I couldn't get this rectified (I left for my work activities before 9 and arrived home late in the evening)

Amazing room, thought i could live there! It had a washing machine and a dishwaser and lounge room. The bedroom was lovely too, sliding mirror cupboards nd a tv. The bed was so comfy too, wish i could have stayed longer. Also the shower pressure was great! You know how hotel showers can be iffy, this one was hot and good presure. Also had a bath which was great to relax after a long day. Only thing i didn't love was the fact the iron was steamless. I understand that's probably safety. It did the trick.

My second time visiting Lanai since last August. Similar experience: Check-in and out after hours was seamless. This time I was in room 607. The lift as well as the apartment was had a musty smell- likely related to the warm humid weather at this time of the year. The apartment layout is almost identical to the previous (see my previous review of room 307)- spacious, clean and neat. The balcony was very spacious and even bigger, having a table setting as well as outdoor lounge. The bedroom looked over the water. Main bedroom had queen sized bed while the other, two double beds. The leather dining chairs and couch was fantastic – can be wiped down for cleaning. Again, no blinds in the living room for privacy. Despite being near the street, it was quiet most of the time. Two exceptions- one evening when the apartment above had a gathering into late the evening on the balcony. Another morning, construction work started before 6am (not on the grounds). Both of these are of course, random events. The cookware and utensils were of good quality and range. The bathroom exhaust fan was not very powerful and did not combat the humidity. Shower door had a gap, resulting in water in the bathroom after a shower- slip hazard. However, I’m aware this is not uncommon for many showers. Comfortable bed. Both pillows were very flat but I’m sure they would’ve been able to provide a higher one if I’d asked (I don’t like to be troublesome!). No flyscreen door- so be mindful to keep balcony door closed in the wet season! Admittedly this is a very different experience to coming here during the dry season, where the doors can be left open and I enjoyed walks before and after walk. One thing I am conscious of, is indoor lighting. It would be much warmer and welcoming to have warm white indoor lighting instead of white light. Particularly in an era when so many are conscious of “blue light” and wearing lenses to filter that out. (White light = high percentage of blue light). The gym, sauna and pool were quiet (no crowds). Nor the lifts. I’ve never had to wait for the lift. Internet speed (wifi) can be slow and drop out. But it is secured with a password. Overall, a pleasant experience without any main issues. Special mention- The staff was exceptional. On mentioning the musty smell (I didn’t expect anything to come of it) as an aside to something else, Andrea (manning the front desk) notified the maintenance technician (Richard), who cleaned my carpet on the same day. Andrea is pleasant, professional, attentive and takes pride in her work. It does not go unnoticed! Thank you! I now specifically ask to stay here for work each time. (I realize this review contains many personal preferences but hopefully it’s useful for those who share the same ideals.)

Great service at check-in, kindly upgraded which was much appreciated, clean rooms, great size, great location - was able to walk most places. The only down side was that there was a smell musty, damp smell when the air con was on.

We had a splendid 4 nights at Mantra Mackay. The staff were very helpful, caring and friendly. Many thanks especially to Julie, who organised breakfast for us on one of the days when we had to leave the hotel at 6am for an early tour. The reception staff were polite and always available to help and provide us with additional amenities and directions within the locality. The rooms were clean and spacious with plenty of natural light and a lovely view of the marina, coral sea and swimming pool, which made for a relaxing swim on a hot afternoon. The town's centre was an easy drive within a 10 minutes' from the hotel.

My stay at the ibis Mackay Airport was necessary due to the cancellation of my flight. The front counter Team Member Savannah did all that she was able to do to enable my stay even though they were fully booked. When I was told that accommodation would not be available I opted to wait until the airline contacted me to advise what had been arranged. After waiting for over 30 minutes Savannah advised that the situation had changed and that I could be accommodated for the night. The friendliness and concern of Savannah over my plight my very apparent. Consequently, I was greatly impressed with the service along with the quality of the rooms, service & restaurant facilities. Well done and I would strongly recommend the ibis Mackay

Disappointing experience. Would recommend looking elsewhere. I booked this hotel for an overnight stay on a road trip to Brisbane. Due to bushfires, the Bruce Highway was closed and my arrival delayed. The office phone number went to a message bank, despite the pre-recorded message saying the opening hours were till 9pm and I was calling before this time. My wife ended up finding an after hours number to get the late checking details. Suggest the message be updated. Room was poor quality. After the long drive, I wanted to chill with some tv before bed. However, the TV in the room didn’t work, I suspect it may have just been flat batteries in the remote. This is something that ought to be checked and reception was closed due to my late arrival. Whilst the room was largely clean, the bathroom was not the same. There was mould in the shower, and the toilet seemed to keep running. The only positive I have from this stay was the comfortable bed.
