Overall we stayed in 3 rooms - the first we rejected after one night because the shower was unacceptable with an awful smell of drains emanating from it and there was no bath as alternative. The second they moved us to was much better with bath in the room but it had a shower cubicle which again smelled of drains - we didn't use it. The 3 rd room was a luxury duplex suite after we'd left the city and returned for one more night - yet again the shower smelt awful and they had to send the housekeeper up to pour disinfectant down it. They blamed rain but it hadn't rained on all the days - I blame the construction of the showers - marble slabs with gaps in between where dirt and mould was visible - frankly quite awful. We found the hotel otherwise a bit strange in layout but comfortable, nice terrace bar/restaurant and a good buffet and cooked breakfast. Staff were helpful except for young lady who suggested I needed 40 minutes or more for taxi to train station - I got there in under 5 minutes !

A wonderful experience at NH Paseo del Prado in Madrid. The ultimate breakfast experience! I had wanted to try the tomato on toast that I had heard about in Spain, but couldn't figure out how it was made. Miguel Angel, a fabulous waiter on the breakfast crew talked me through it, and helped me make this delicious treat. The entire hotel experience was great, but the very personal touch of MIguel Angel made the experience perfect!

As a Marriott Titanium / Lifetime Platinum Elite Guest, our family [husband, wife and two young daughters] decided to visit Madrid, Spain to start our month-long 2023 summer vacation in Europe. We spent five (5) nights at Westin Palace Madrid using our Bonvoy points in late May / early June 2023. Please see the thirty-eight (38) photos we posted with this review of all aspects of the hotel. Within days after making our five (5) night stay using Marriott Bonvoy points approximately ten (10) months prior to our arrival date, we emailed General Manager, Pablo Flores and advised him of our future stay as well as our special requests, including our request for an Executive Suite, which would comfortably host our family of four. Within hours of our email, we received a thoughtful reply Paloma Hidalgo, Director of Rooms, whom immediately provided us with a complimentary guaranteed upgrade to an Executive Suite and further, Ms. Hidalgo readily granted all of our other special requests. The prompt response did not come as a surprise to us given how active the management of this property is in reading and promptly replying to past guests on Trip Advisor as well as the Marriott Bonvoy website, which is but a mere sign of management’s commitment to exemplary customer service. Not surprisingly, we were overjoyed with such a response and really looked forward to our future stay at The Westin Palace Madrid. This gorgeous historic hotel is magnificently located in Madrid overlooking the Neptune Fountain and less than a three minute walk to the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, less than a five minute walk to the Prado Museum and less than a ten minute walk to the Reina Sofia Museum. It is also extremely close to Retiro Park and is within an easy 15 minute walk to Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and the Gran Via as well as many bars, restaurant, trendy cafés, market and other cultural attractions. You can easily walk everywhere throughout the entire city but public transportation options abound in close proximity to the hotel as well. Our initial visit to the Westin Palace Madrid did not disappoint, especially when the hotel accommodated our extremely early check-in (before 9:00 am). The check-in process with Ms. Hidalgo, Estefanía Martinez, Front Office Assistant Manager and Juan at the reception desk was a breeze. Further, Ms. Martinez was kind enough to personally escort us to our suite and show us all of the features and amenities of same. This was very thoughtful on the part of Ms. Martinez and very much appreciated. Throughout our entire five (5) night stay, Ms. Hidalgo and Ms. Martinez were especially helpful and friendly. We simply loved our Palace Executive Suite with slightly over 1,000 square feet in total space with a sublime view of the Neptune Fountain; it was truly remarkable. I'm probably bring slightly generous in my rating as this is a good hotel but not very good. However, I think it would be unfair to rate it as average which is the next rating scale on TripAdvisor. It's very conveniently located if you're coming into the main railway station and is a short walk away and there is an elevator to street level from the station if you have heavy suitcases. It's also a short walk to the Prado and the Reine Sofia but about a 30 minute walk up to Plaza Mayor. The rooms are comfortable and new. They're not very big but for a short stay they're adequate. The bathroom is of a fair size and the amenities in the room are good. They have breakfast at the hotel but we didn't use it so I can't comment.

Great location. Walking distance to many cafes and restaurants. We were surprised to learn that the hotel exterior was undergoing a renovation. We checked in our room at 4pm and could hear knocking and hacking on the wall. Thankfully we were just using the room to rest at night. Most of the daytime were spent exploring the city. It would be informative if the hotel inform the guests about the renovation but it is okay for us because we were out.

We stayed at this hotel for our first trip to Madrid, it was the perfect choice. It is located within the main part of Gran Via and is next door to Zara, Mango, H&M and opposite Uniqlo. It’s within walking distance to many restaurants, the metro and the sights. We booked a rooftop view room and it did not disappoint, stunning view and very quiet. The room was a good size, clean and comfortable. The sink and shower are in the bedroom, the toilet is separate. We really valued the free soft drinks in the room every day, great touch. The wardrobe was also a good size. The TV in the room did not have many English channels but it allowed you to mirror your phone content. Really easy to use. The staff were all super friendly and all spoke English. When we checked in we were given free tote bags and vouchers for two free alcoholic drinks at the bar. The bar area is beautiful and doubles up as the breakfast area on a morning. It’s modern and clean and has a balcony if you want to sit outside. The rooftop bar is also gorgeous and has great view. We ate breakfast at the hotel for €14 each. It had lots of choice with everything from cereals, range of breads, cooked breakfast, fresh fruits, meats, cheeses, yoghurts, juices and danish pastries. We walked past many hotels during our trip and it really did feel like this hotel is in THE perfect location. Highly recommended, don’t hesitate to book.

The location is excellent, two subway stations very close, fast the check in, we arrived early and they had a room ready for us, the rooms super clean and modern, whoever hates the morning sun to sleep a little more, this is the place, they have great curtains that don’t let a ray of light to enter. The bathroom was comfortable, a good closet, the mattress and pillows perfect. The breakfast super complete with many choices to pick.

Absolutely loved this hotel. It was perfect for a couple traveling with their children. We stayed for a week, the location was amazing across the street from The amazingly beautiful Retiro park. The staff was great, rooms cleaned very well. We had the included breakfast which was great lots of choices. Can’t say enough about it. Having a junior suite with separate bedroom and huge separate space for sitting and bunk beds was key for us to have a wonderful week! Would definitely return!

This lovely hotel is truly a gem. We just finished a 10 day stay and loved the entire staff. The hotel had a boutique charm to it, modern and cozy. The hotel restaurant has very nice breakfasts and at night a bar and light fare as well. The hotel is located in one of the most vibrant areas of Madrid. Outdoor and indoor cafes, shops and restaurants. The Prado and Sorolla Museums are within walking distance or a quick 5-10 minute cab ride. Cabs are very reasonable and Uber as well. Madrid is an extremely fun walkable city. We totally enjoyed both museums. Joaquin Sorolla was an extraordinary artist in the impressionist style. The museum is housed in his magnificent original mansion. We found the Madrid people friendly and helpful. We would choose the AC Recoletos again if we return to Madrid.

El 1 de agosto, mi familia y yo llegamos al hotel de la calle Almirante dispuestos a dar comienzo de nuestras vacaciones. Nuestras expectativas eran altas, basadas en el precio que pagamos, las fotos prometedoras y la reputación en línea del hotel. Pero la realidad resultó desalentadora desde el primer momento. La falta de advertencia sobre las multas en Madrid Central al llegar en coche fue un golpe inesperado. ¿Cómo es posible que un hotel de supuesto lujo no se preocupe por informar a sus huéspedes sobre esto? Viajar con un bebé ya implica desafíos, y esta sorpresa lo hizo aún más complicado. Mi solicitud de ayuda fue ignorada, y la falta de empatía nos hizo sentir desamparados. El apartamento que encontramos no se parecía en nada a las fotos en línea. Las paredes desgastadas y sucias, los marcos de las puertas envejecidos y los baños anticuados eran una decepción total. Nuestra inversión de más de 200€ no se correspondía con la realidad que encontramos, y la diferencia era dolorosamente evidente. El peor momento fue cuando la puerta de la nevera se rompió al abrirla, dejándola inutilizable. Esta situación se convirtió en un total despropósito al viajar con un bebé que necesitaba comida y poder guardar medicinas frescas. Nuestra llamada en busca de ayuda quedó sin respuesta, y la sensación de abandono fue abrumadora. A pesar de nuestras solicitudes de ayuda tanto con la situación del coche como con el estado del apartamento, fuimos ignorados. Incluso expresar nuestra frustración solo generó una respuesta indiferente. La promesa de ”lo anoto y se lo haré llegar a mi responsable” resultó ser vacía, sin explicaciones ni disculpas. Casi un mes después, tras agotar las esperanzas de que la empresa se comunique con nosotros y nos de las necesarias explicaciones, he contactado con ellos. Nada nuevo bajo el sol. Excusas y palabras vacías que no van cambiar la pésima experiencia sufrida ni van a revertir el peor inicio de vacaciones que uno puedo imagin****.

Perfect Location to stay in Madrid. Close to the Grand Via and museums. Although there on business, this would be a great hotel to stay to put on your running shoes and explore the city. Clean, great staff and excellent breakfast. There was an issue with a package that was to be shipped to the hotel for business and the staff helped us with the issue. Would recommend and will stay here again.
