Principe di Salina Boutique Hotel

This hotel is first rate, from the rooms to the pool to the food to the wines to the accommodating staff. Prices for rooms and food and wine are all very fair and would be three times higher if this island (Salina) were not in one of the most remote (but lovely) places in Europe. Located in the little hamlet of Malfa, this hotel is the place to go for total relaxation. The well-designed and perfectly maintained pool area is one of the finest in the world, with views of nearby Stromboli and Panarea islands. Highly recommended.

Let me start by saying I want to live here. This was the most beautiful and relaxing vacation I have ever experienced. Principe is exquisitely designed to exude peace and calmness. Attention to detail is not overlooked. The service is impeccable and you will leave feeling part of a new family. Meals are held communal style allowing for mingling with other guests...or not....your choice. You'll leave dreaming about the freshest ingredients and most delicious meals you've ever had. Anita, the owner, is incredibly friendly and helpful and will offer the perfect itinerary (not rushed, yet still seeing much of the island) if you'd like. It's my new home away from home and I'm confident you'll feel that way upon departure as well.

Sensational- everything I expected it to be. The owner Anita is very present and is always checking on her guests. She has sensational staff who give excellent advice. Hotel is located on a hill so a lovely breeze on the hot days is welcome Rooms are simple but very adequate Food is very good, or they will suggest local restaurants to eat- get them to book tables, they get the best! Use a moped from hotel or the local bus is fun

This is an amazing, small boutique hotel. Every detail of the property has been thought through & works, it has a lovely relaxed pool area, and the upstairs terrace where you have breakfast and dinner was just perfect. All the staff were very friendly & helpful, genuinly wanting you to have an amazing stay. Our Top Floor rooms were very well decorated, with good quality bathrooms & a lovely terrace with views of the sea, although we didn't spend much time in these as the hotel has lots of space for relaxing, and given the small number of guests it never felt crowded. The food, breakfast & dinner on the dinning terrace and lunches by the pool, was fantastic. The evening meal is a real experience (we ate in on 3 of our 6 nights staying there and had a different, interesting menu every time). While you sit at a long series of tables, the settings are well spaces so you can chat to your neighbours or amongst yourselves as you wish. It is a lovely experience. It's less than 10 minutes walk into Malfa town, which is very pretty, with a lot of boutique shops and restaurants to chose from. We are already planning our next visit.

Dearest Anita & Filippo. We are now nearing the end of our Italian journey. As we head home after a month away we cannot praise you enough for our time spent at Principe di Salina 🙌 If P stands for anything, it is for Perfection. From your DM to us at 4am when we were stranded in Milazzo, to heavenly balmy evening meals and views for days - no photo really does justice to what you have created. Great location with a fantastic view on the Aeolian islands (Stromboli and Panarea right in front of you). Relaxing and very quiet mood what you breathe during your stay. I loved the breakfast/restaurant area. Room very simple but attentive in details! Staff and owners were very friendly and helpful with us. Dinner was a pleasant surprise! We had dinner there three nights. Good selection of wines! the view from there is amazing… unforgettable I mean! A suggestion: enrich breakfast with fresh juices (I missed fresh orange juice in the morning)!

One of the most beautiful hotels we have stayed in, everything was absolutely perfect. Anita and Filippo along with their incredible staff were exceptional, so friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to ensure a perfect stay. We cannot wait to return!

Absolutely wonderful experience!! Principe di Salina is a truely unique and special place. My husband and I were recommended to stay there by several people - one Australian who has a house on Salina and an Italian who grew up there - and we were thrilled not disappointed! Prior to arrival I was provided huge amounts of helpful information via email regarding ferries, transfers, etc. On arrival the owner, Anita, met us and showed us around the lovely spaces including the pool. We were very lucky to stay in a suite which was beautifully appointed with a fabulous view over the sea. Sadly we only had a short stay but managed to enjoy the pool, our room, the pool bar, dinner and even a packed breakfast for an early getaway. Throughout our time there, we were made to feel totally at home, part of a family who have lovingly created this slice of heaven. When it was time to go we were advised that our ferry had been canceled however all alternative arrangements had been made and were clearly communicated.

Very reluctant to share the view that Principe Di Salina is simply the best hotel in the Med. Thank goodness it is not that easy to get to as otherwise it would be overrun. It is small but not claustrophobic, it is quiet but not dull, the menu is short but perfectly formed, that staff are discrete but always there, the rooms are simply but very comfortable. Really there is nothing not to like.
