Maison Daouia

All I can say is what a fabulous little retreat, from the moment we got there we had the warmest of welcomes, the staff are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble,you are about a 30min drive to the main city but they will organize a return taxi for you. I would highly recommend this hotel if you didn’t want to be in the hustle of the city. Thank you youseff and Omar for looking after us.

We had an excellent stay at maison Daouia. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout. Very relaxing atmosphere, often having the pool to ourselves. Rooms were also very spacious and had excellent air con. It was easy to get taxis to the local area around as well.

The hospitality of MD started even before my trip began. Hicham, the hotel manager has reached out and asked my preferences. As soon as you arrive at the hotel, you know that it will be an intimate setting. The hotel has only a few rooms outside of the city whcih makes it veyr good for recharging after a long day traversing the souks of Medina or the valley of Ourika. The staff of MD goes over and beyond their service to make your stay the best it can be. I am a simple traveller with very simple tastes but MD made it possible to be spoiled on your holiday. The chef whipped out amazing dishes that reflect the best of Moroccan cuisine. If you like the big contrast of the bustling Marrakech and a peaceful place to unwind, MD is your place. It feels like home away from home.

If you are looking for somewhere away from the busy life , then I would highly recommend this place . So day if the objective is to relax and catch upon sleep , then definitely book a stay here it is away from everything you are pretty much in the middle of somewhere no nearby shops , hospitals, pharmacy, transport . However if you wanting to be out and about , I recommend staying away from this place as it is very far . You will have a very difficult time to get around and some taxi as well as excursions do refuse coming there . They do offer excursions , transportation etc etc , but I think when you compare it to viator for example , I do believe you end up spending a lot more . The place does have local taxi who will offer a ride to town center ( medina and old town ) for 150 dbs during the day and 225 after 7PM . I am not sure how much that works out in pound or Euros , but again maybe slightly pricey as you cannot really negotiate the price as you would if you got taxi elsewhere . The 150 dhs is just for them to drop you at town center and as mentioned the prices changes by 7PM things do something be mindful of should you wish to stay there maybe hiring a car is better . The taxi men are friendly , but they maybe a language barrier even if you speak French many speak more Arabic , then anything miscommunication between both parties may happen . Also their breakfast selection is very limited you get given eggs for breakfast everyday alongside a few olives , plain yogurt and a few other stuff They do not have a variety selection you will get the same breakfast everyday Another thing you need to be mindful of is if you want like coffee or tea that’s not included as part of the breakfast deal you will need to pay for that separate. They do lunch and dinner one must order at least 2 hours in advance to allow the chef time to prepare which , I guess that is understandable. I did enjoy the meals they cooked The staffs were very friendly and very helpful. The place is very clean and very much as advertised online . They offer WIFI and it was quite decent .

Le service est incroyable et le calme de cette maison d'hôtes  rend ce lieu paradisiaque, comme une petite oasis. La maison daouia est l'endroit parfait pour se détendre et lézarder au soleil. La vue depuis sa terrasse est splendide. La chambre était très grande, bien décorée et surtout confortable.
