Riad Luzia

Extremely noisy. Not very pretty. Not the serene comfortable experience I expect with a Riad. Maybe ok if you are a party animal who likes crowds. Happy to wave goodbye. There are much nicer hotels further away from the Marrakesh mayhem (which who needs anyways?).

Central location but still quiet. Very clean and tidy, compact rooms. Great rooftop breakfast area and large lounge for relaxing. Breakfast and the early morning views were a highlight. Some stairs to negotiate but the porters took care of the heavy luggage. Friendly helpful staff. Easy walk to main city sites . Would stay there again for sure.

What I didn’t like was my treatment from staff Just because u are black and American the staff would be very untrustworthy. And on top of that I left 5 post cards to be mailed to love ones and the front desk guy promised he would send them out. I called 3weeks after my stay and told front desk nobody received post cards , the guy placed me on hold came back to the phone and said oh we are sending them out now THAT WAS 3 weeks ago and still no post cards !!!!!!! This place only caters to RIAD Locals !!!!!!!!!! If you aren’t familiar with RIAD THIS IS NOT THE HOTEL AND ALSO THEY WILL ASSIST YOU WITH OUT GOING ACCOMMODATIONS BUT THEY WILL MAKE SURE THE LOCALS CHARGE YOU MORE !!!!!!!! I will never EVER live here again The love of money be so real BUT IF U ARE A BLACK AFRICAN AMERICAN STAYING HERE TRUST NO MON !!!!

The rooms were dark, dingy, and with paper thin walls that we can hear everything, everywhere. The shower floor would get flooded from a poorly working drain. Our assigned rooms were several star qualities down from the 4 star rating they are listed and looked nothing like the nice pictures advertised. I told the owner this and she was hostile to me. She said just because “Ms. XX comes, it doesn’t mean I will ask my other guests to leave their rooms.” Of course, I wasn’t asking that. I just wanted to point out that regardless of getting the last 2 rooms, the rooms should represent the hotel class, which they didn’t at all! We wanted to leave earlier than their breakfast times, so they said they would have something small ready, like coffee, fruit and cereal. But, when we were ready to leave, they had prepared nothing. It felt like they did that on purpose because we complained. We also told *********** that we weren’t happy and this was the worst part! They claimed that Riad Luzia said we broke their TV. But, when *********** pressed Riad Luzia to furnish proof, they said, that no, the tv is okay. I couldn’t believe they would tell such a lie. The treatment was very similar to staying at a unwelcoming hostel not a 4 star property. Read some of the other 1-2 star ratings of the property and be warned. While you may wish to stay close to the Medina, if the good Riads aren’t available, stay at some of the established brands just 10 minutes away from the Medina.

Beautifully decorated, small riad near the square and all the historical landmarks. Comfortable, spotlessly clean rooms. Very friendly staff. Adequate breakfast in the rooftop dining area. very minor complaint - the shower door did not close tightly so the (small) bathroom floor got wet. Enough towels provided to soak it up. No big deal.

This Riad is amazing. Very beautifully decorated with vibrant colours, with a large dining table and sofa seating area upon entering. The rooftop terrace is also an amazing place to sit to relax and have breakfast. The terrace tables and seating areas are decorated in authentic Moroccan style. Our room had a large comfortable queen bed. Shower was hot and had a great water pressure. There was a nice area to sit and do your makeup. Again the room was decorated with lots of beautiful pattens and colours. There were also some lovely rugs on the floor that made the room warm and cosy. However, what really makes the place is the staff. Wafa, the owner, welcomed us on arrival and gave us lots of helpful information on things to do, excursions etc. She asked us to treat the Riad as our own home and let her know if we needed anything and this made us feel very welcome. Hassan who works on reception is very friendly and helpful, and answered all our queries and questions with a smile. Also when leaving he carried our luggage to the street where we hailed a taxi. The staff serving breakfast are also lovely and serve an amazing breakfast with a lot of variety (inc fresh flat bread and fresh orange juice.) In addition, the location is very good as it’s within in walking distance to all the major attraction. Thank you to all the staff for making our holiday experience and welcoming us like family. We would highly recommend staying here and we would definitely come back!
