We chose this hotel for its reasonable pricing and location away from the Marseille city center. It’s in a local neighborhood and within about a mile walk of the beach. Nice breakfast every day. But… The front desk staff was awful. First, the staff had us pony up a deposit equal to almost 150% of the room charges for a two-room reservation. Then, when we checked out, they informed us that they had “released “ half of the deposit the day prior and that we owed the full stay’s price of a room to close out. The problem, which I pointed out, was that no credit hit my credit card and the deposit was still listed as a pending charge which I showed via my app. So by the time I left I had paid almost 175% of the hotel tab, waiting for the credit to post. Only took three more weeks despite staff assurances and confusion. Second, parking in the recommended garage was a hassle. It’s around a corner and has a back door connection to the hotel. Front door staff struggled to explain how the garage worked and only gave out passes in 24, 48, or 96 hour increments so we had to go back several times for our week plus stay. Every time we went back they tried to add additional charges to the bill even as we were told on day one that they would just add the full parking amount at once.
