Hacienda!! This place is a dream! It is so peaceful and beautiful there. I loved every moment I spent in this paradise. The views are incredible. The staff, top notch. The owner, JC, was so nice and warm. He made sure that we were taken care of and never taken advantage of. He guided us step by step on how to get to the property. Once there, he made sure we were comfortable and happy. Francisco, who works there, was the nicest man! I have nothing but amazing things to say about this place and the food was terrific! If you’re looking for peace and beauty emerged in local culture, this is the spot!

This is one of the most unique hotels I have ever stayed at. It is essentially a villa owned and operated by JC Espinoza, an accomplished architect who built this place for entertaining his clients. The hotel overlooks the volcano Masaya which had a minor eruption on Dec 22, 2024. It also overlooks the lake Masaya which, in itself, is an old volcano crater. The view and wildlife are simply amazing. This hotel is tucked away up in the mountains. Access road (which is not paved) is a bit tricky and bumpy. Better to have 4x4 vehicles but not big pick-up trucks as possibility exists that larger trucks would no be able to get through tight mountain passes. If in doubt, local guide is recommended. For several nights, we were the only guests there (out of 8 rooms available). All staff are extremely friendly and we felt it's own villa completed with own staff including chef, groundskeeper, waiter, who stay here in the hotel. Food is mostly local and simple. It is cook to order. Meals are scheduled based on guests preference. All meals are a la cart and no buffet. Because we were the only guests there, the chef essentially cooked for us and rest of the staff. To be realistic, please do not expect fine dining since this is simply not that type of resort. Wifi is available in public areas and is excellent. This is why I am typing this review now while overlooking smoke smouldering out of the volcano. This hotel is also not far from the historical town Granada (about 45 min) This 500 years old establishment is worth a day trip visit. Although there aren't many activities in the hotel, star grazing is amazing, so is playing with the cow. All is all, our stay has so far been quite an experience and I recommend anyone who are interested in this type of tranquility. I shall miss this place.

Charming place. Very comfortable. Super views especially at sunset. Fabulous staff and JC was great host. Slightly out of the way but worth the effort. Over all, it was a very relaxing place. See photos of views from room. Highly recommend.

I had the best time at Hacienda! All the staff were so lovely and helpful and went over and above to make sure I had everything I needed, and helped arrange all my transport. The views are absolutely beautiful and I will miss having my breakfast looking out over the lagoon. Can’t recommend this hotel enough.

During our unforgettable stay at Hacienda Puerta del Cielo Eco Spa in Nicaragua, my daughter and I were treated to a truly magical experience. We had the place almost to ourselves on a peaceful weekday, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the tranquility of this secluded paradise. The Hacienda itself is a haven of relaxation, with comfy hammocks, quiet nooks, and sunny poolside lounges beckoning us to unwind and soak in Nicaragua's natural beauty. The Hacienda's commitment to eco-friendliness was truly commendable. Locally sourced materials and vibrant murals depicting Nicaraguan life added to its unique charm. The owner's dedication to sustainability was evident in every aspect of the Hacienda. Their attentive service and the staff's efforts to make our stay perfect were the cherry on top of this eco-friendly paradise. The dining experience at Hacienda Puerta del Cielo was equally delightful. We savored delicious meals made from locally sourced, farm-to-table ingredients. From traditional Nicaraguan dishes like jalapeño chicken to international options like chicken tenders, there was something to please every palate. It was truly one of the best meals we had during our time in Nicaragua. Hacienda Puerta del Cielo Eco Spa is a hidden gem that exceeded all expectations. Its stunning location, luxurious accommodations, and warm hospitality make it the perfect retreat for travelers seeking relaxation and rejuvenation. We feel incredibly fortunate to have discovered this paradise and can't wait to return for another unforgettable stay. If you're looking fora romantic getaway I highly recommend the Honeymoon Suite. We did not stay here but had a chance to see it as it was when we where there. From the Jacuzzi tub to the romantic outdoor shower, every detail was thoughtfully designed. The private deck, complete with hammocks and deck chairs, offered the perfect spot to unwind and take in the stunning vistas and it gives you direct, private access to the pool.

Fantastic, one of a kind place. Cool place made out of local and natural materials. Excellent views, owner, and staff. Staff was very helpful in arranging tours and transformation. Food was excellent. Owner went out his way to find fresh fish to make a local dish that wasn't on the menu. Recommend visiting if you are in Nicaragua.

Where to begin?! My wife and I spent 6 days here for our honeymoon and we have no regrets about doing so. Setting: The Hacienda is perched on a secluded overlook of the Masaya Volcano and lagoon providing a beautiful view around the clock. The Hacienda is replete with comfy hammocks, quiet nooks, and sunny poolside lounges. Owner & Staff: JC (the owner) is an entertaining and gracious host. He was always checking in on us and helping to assure we were having a good time. We spent several nights trading stories and histories over glasses of rum. His staff were attentive and helpful as well. Special consideration goes to Chico for going above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Amenities: The rooms were clean and we'll kept. We were very comfortable the entirety of our stay. The food was fresh and delicious (definitely get the pancakes for breakfast at least once!). Overall our stay was one my wife and I won't forget. We are already talking about a return trip in the future (which is really the best review of all).

A taxi drive of about 75-90 minutes brings you for around 50 USD from the international airport to this rather remote place. The last part of the travel is a rather bumpy 1,5 km road but you forget everything when you arrive at the terrace in the hacienda and see the view of the volcanoes. Amazing! The rooms are cozy with a comfortable hammock and outside rocking chairs. The owner JC is a great, flexible and problem-solving host with wonderful stories. He cares about his guests supported by his sweet staff. Meals are ok. We made nice trips to the volcano rim, hiked to the village and around the lake. Suggestions for improvement: 1) internet was sometimes weak and sometimes ok, 2) this was the only hotel in Nicaragua where we had to pay for water (and you cannot drink the tap water in Nicaragua), 3) no water cooker/fridge in the room, and 4) also compared to other hotels the tours/taxi drives offered are on the expensive side. Pure magic! The location, the room, the hospitality, and the food was dreamy. The PERFECT destination for a quiet getaway with a loved one or friends. I will always cherish how well JC, Pablo, Isabel and Francisco took care of us.

This is a simply breathtaking location with absolutely brilliant service. I was meeting up with a family member in Nicaragua for a holiday. We had separate rooms so I was able to check out the different accommodations. The first thing is that this is a very remote hotel! I thought it was an easy reach of the airport, but it's still quite a journey. The second is that it is absolutely beautiful, but it is genuinely remote, and there are not many ways out other than the wonderful (who takes care of most things) Francisco providing a driving/walking tour. (I would highly recommend it!) The rooms differ greatly - I had the basic room, which was fine, but not the most comfortable bed or shower, etc. However, my sister had one of the villas which had its own private area with a hammock / private shower, etc. So worth the upgrade. Overall it's a small boutique spot, despite what may appear to be a much bigger resort. However, it offers a wonderful experience, not so much for a solo traveler who may want to wander alone, but great for others who want to experience the beauty of Nicaragua .

Fantastic place with everything you need for a good time. The view was great and the food was great. The personal was very nice and Francisco who worked in the reception and bar was always aviable to help if i needed something. Recommend this place to all! Andreas

This was our first trip to Nicaragua and I could not have picked a better place to stay then Hacienda Puerta Del Cielo Eco Lodge & Spa. When we arrived at the airport they were their to greet us, making our arrival go smoothly. We stayed in the honeymoon suite which was very nice. It has its own porch with a hammock, and access to the pool. The lodge has many comfortable places to sit and take in the views of the valle and Masaya Volcano off in the distances. Each night we enjoyed our wine while watching the clouds from the volcano making a colorful sunset. It a great location for visiting the Masaya volcano, Maysaya artisan market, tours of Granada, and Catarina. Many of the packages include these tours which are well worth it. The staff here are so warm and welcoming. They take care of anything you may need or want. We had all our meals here and enjoyed everyone of them. Everything is made fresh to order. I would highly recommend this lodge and spa for any length of stay. We were there for 5 nights and enjoyed every moment of our time there.

I didnt know what to expect going into this trip but once arriving to the hacienda it exceeded our expectations. It has such a beautiful and peaceful atmosphere. Everyone is super kind, helpful, and attentive ! The food was AMAZING ! super flavorful and always made fresh. We were helped with anything and everything we needed. It’s definitely a place to bring your family or even just a couples get away. It left me not wanting to come back home and already looking forward to coming back. I look forward to next time !

To first start off, the pictures don’t do any justice. It is so much more beautiful in person! The Hacienda exceeded our expectations and everyone there was very attentive, friendly, and helpful. I’ve been to different countries in Central America and by far Nicaragua moved up to the very top of the list because of the people! I would recommend this to anyone who goes Solo, couples, or even families. The food was amazing even the desserts. We didn’t even need to eat outside food because what they had was very flavorful(trust me). Try the tres leche dessert. The tours they offer were awesome they had something for everyone. I am going back soon again! Everything was affordable and at a fair price compare to other countries.
