We travelled with Crystal ski and stayed for a week as a family in 2 rooms. The hotel is central but that was also it’s biggest drawback. Our rooms were 1st floor at the front just above the hotel entrance and restaurant. The rooms are dated with tired decor and not particularly clean, the bed was comfortable BUT we hardly slept all week due to noise of people shouting on the street below, the rooms were also far too warm but you couldn’t open the window until 2 or 3am due to the noise which then started again at around 6am with people departing the hotel. Having returned from a week’s holiday I am now exhausted through lack of sleep! After our first night I asked the receptionist if it was possible to move rooms as we tend to be in bed by around 10 when the noise was at it’s worst, I was told they were full and it wasn’t possible. We had booked bed and breakfast but on our first evening struggled to find anywhere to eat, I asked at reception if we could eat in the hotel and was told we would have to queue in the street for a table! Luckily, one of us asked a waiter in the hotel restaurant who allowed us a table, the service was very slow ( after around 20 minutes we had to ask if we could order drinks), the food was average, and the glass of house red wine was awful. The spa area was good and the rooftop pool lovely after a day’s skiing. Breakfast was average, with the the same buffet everyday. We didn’t realise until the last day that you could order cooked bacon and eggs ( we’d never been told.) Staff were quick enough to tell us not to take food from the breakfast room though, my son in law was ill in bed so we had made him some sandwiches to eat and were told abruptly that we were not allowed to take them out of the breakfast room. After some discussion the waitress reluctantly agreed we could have them. All 4 of us agreed that despite the pool area we would never return to this hotel, there are definitely much better hotels for the money.
