NH Mechelen has a good location and friendly staff. Beds are decent and breakfast is OK. BUT: (1) While certain parts of the hotel (e.g. reception and breakfast room) are somewhat renovated, other require urgent renovation and are far below the NH Hotels standard I'm used to (please refer to the pictures of room 506 attached), (2) A pungent sewage smell is present throughout the hotel, (3) The parking is limted to cars ＜ 165 cm (so SUV's cannot use it), (4) The airco is very, very old, makes a huge noise and does not work adequately, (5) And all this for 186 €/ night (breakfast included), which is far too expensive for the poor quality offered. See pictures attached: (1) Curtains which could not be closed (30- 40 cm), (2) Curtains with a lot of holes, (3) Dead insects on the the window, curtain and at the coffee machine, (4) and (5) Furniture with all over scratches, (6) A new door lock was installed but the remains of the previous system were not removed.

Hotel in a lovely location but was not until booking confirmed that we were informed that that were no reception staff and we would have to pick up the keys from another hotel We had breakfast one day and had an issue sorting payment, someone from the partnership hotel had to come and sort, and although breakfast was OK, you can get a much nicer breakfast for a similar price elsewhere There was no kettle/cups/tea/coffee in the room The room was just about warm enough Had no pillows and that took a while to sort

I was served by a guy at the front desk / reception and he was friendly and willing to help which made the stay pleasant. Location is about 5-10mins walk to the city centre and there is a convenience store a few minutes away from the hotel. Clean and spacious room and the toilet - there was air-conditioning which is a plus point especially during the summer season. I would pick this hotel again when I am back at Mechelen and Brussels in the future.

nous y sommes allés plusieurs fois mais cette dernière fois a été une expérience horrible!!! Nous avions loué l'appartement pour 6 personnes au 6ème étage (604) La cuisine était dans un état lamentable , plan de travail cassé à plusieurs endoits, armoires très sales avec présence de fourmis du coup impossible d'y mettre de la nourriture (confiture , choco...) sans y voir un attroupement de fourmis le lendemain; les tiroirs à couverts et ustensiles de cuisine étaient dans un état de saleté (cheveux , miettes ...) les casseroles ont dû être récurées avant utilisation...je n'ose même pas parler des poubelles de l'appartement qui étaient aussi sales dehors que dedans !!! Les salles de douches étaient dans le même état avec une très mauvaise évacuation d'eau. Présence de fourmis sur évier . Sous les lits ont a pu constaté la présence d'au moins 6 mois de poussière . Bref, séjour inoubliable mais pas dans le bon sens...

Got a corner room on 1+ floor. It was beautiful. Breakfast was all anyone could dream of. Bring a sleep mask to avoid light in the morning. Everything was clean. The bad was good, not too hard. I loved the high ceiling. The pictures will convince you.
