One of our favourite stays was at White Swan Guest House.
We had the most amazing experience from the staff.
September 2024
We traveled to Meizhou from Shezhen.
Being from Australia with limited communication we struggled to get a DiDi not realising we were in the wrong town wanting a long trip.
We contacted White Swan hoping they could help us get transport. The lovely ladies Alice and Anna made every attempt to get us a DiDi so late at night and they had a friend who was able to get us from the train station.
Once he was at Meizhou train station and couldn’t locate us. Alice suggested we share location on WeChat. it was then that we all realised we were in the wrong town.
We had accidentally got off the train at the station before Meizhou, Xingningcun
Alice & Anna were so kind and offered to help find us accommodation for the night as it was already midnight.
We didn’t really want to because it will interfere with our schedule but there were no more trains. The ladies understood and
said they could ask her DiDi driver friend but no guarantee as he had finished work for the night.
She asked if he would be willing to travel the 1.5 hours to Xingning South Railway station at 1am to come get us.
Which would actually have him driving for 3 hours for us.
It was a late night but we are so grateful that they tried so hard to communicate with us and make us feel safe and cared for. He was wonderful and because of his kindness we reached out to him many times during our stay. The staff especially Anna and Alice were amazing. Thank you for making our first visit to China a memorable experience.
The rooms were perfect, clean and comfortable.

Because of the 2024 experience, we have chosen to stay at White Swan Guest House. They continue to go above and beyond, and it was great to reconnect with Alice again.
