Zornitza Family Estate Relais & Chateaux

Another great experience! We love Relais&Châteaux, we appreciate this beautiful place which we discovered in early 2020 and visiting as much as we can for a family trip or to escape with a loved once, this spot is in the middle of nowhere but all is selected with a fine taste. This beauty is definitely having an exceptional natural charm, peace and a top cuisine (and wine!). Amazing contact with the nature and the silence, the mineral water too The added value is also the peaceful ambiance all around, the gentle care, great calm and water inside and outside the family Estate. Ce calme, cette beauté naturelle et authentique avec le goût raffiné sont assez exceptionnels dans le pays, merci de les entretenir pendant toutes ces années! From the moment you drive into the estate you can sense the calmness. Welcomed by the General Manager, Yavor Kirov, who was absolutely wonderful. Offered a beautiful glass of champagne while we checked in, fire place was lit and the atmosphere just continued to be one of the best we have experienced. Had a tour around the estate.Ate in the fine dining restaurant. Food was out of this world and great service. Would recommend there own Syrah. Delicious. Well done to the family and everyone involved in this amazing concept. Cannot wait to return.

Zornitza Family Estate provides a one-of-a-kind experience to its guests in a luxurious, yet tastefully decorated setting that attends to a modern guest's every need, while creating a peaceful unity with nature. Vines, orchards, fields, lakes, forest, river, farm - you have it all within reach. The staff's professionalism could not have been higher - paying attention to every little detail in ensuring their guests feel truly welcome, while maintaining a friendly attitude and not being intrusive. Locally grown fruit and vegetables and locally produced meat and dairy products are introduced into the cuisine offered both at breakfast and in their two high-quality restaurants. Locally produced wine of different varieties could rival the best in the world, so make sure you ask for wine tasting. Finally, the various facilities offered at the spa, as well as the outdoor pool, should not be missed!

We had a wonderful stay at Zornitsa and will gladly return. The property is lovely, and it’s very apparent expense and effort were not spared in creating and maintaining the space - beautiful finishes, tasteful decor, fresh flowers, etc. The spa is gorgeous and the spa treatments were lovely. Food was great, from breakfast to bistro to aEstuvium. Highlights include the banitsa at breakfast, the nettle risotto at the bistro and the beef tongue appetizer at the restaurant (especially the celery cream covered in chocolate - brilliant). A few points that can be improved upon to make everything perfect: 1. There is no poolside service to speak of - when we called reception and asked for food or drinks, they were delivered, but sometimes quite slowly and there was no attendant checking on the guests. Even something simple like QR codes with the menus and someone occasionally coming by would make a big difference. 2. No one made up the room during our two-night stay - not even to clear out coffee cups, bring towels, etc. We don’t expect changing sheets, etc., but even at much more basic hotels you usually get some cleaning/freshening up on a daily basis. 3. Getting to and from our villa became a bit of an issue on our last day, when the resort filled up a bit more - our villa was about a 15-20 minute walk from the hotel, so we were transported with golf carts to/from dinner etc. It worked just fine when the hotel was empty, but as more guests showed up, we couldn’t even get through to reception to get a pick up (we had to bike to breakfast our last day) or would get a somewhat exasperated and borderline rude response when we asked for a ride (we didn’t have a choice because it was quite far and we had to bring our bags to our car, so walking wasn’t an option). It was clear that other guests were asking for rides, tours, etc., which is fine and understandable - but in that case, the resort should have had more than one cart to service them (they have multiple carts, but as far as we could tell, just one attendant driving on Saturday morning). Notwithstanding the above points, which were quite minor relative to the whole experience, we had an amazing stay and look forward to coming back.
