Good hotel for the price! Cleanliness could be slightly improved but felt safe and staff was nice.

Hotel Fuente Mayor Centro, under new management, implemented new policies that affected our reservations oat their city center location. We booked two rooms through *********** and reconfirmed the reservations directly with the hotel. Nevertheless, the hotel new manager informed us that due to booking issues, our reservations were moved to their new property at the bus terminal peripheral area, or we can cancel the reservations without penalties. Stranded and dissatisfied we had no choice but to compromise and spent the first night at the noisy busy terminal area and return to the center for the following two nights. Sadly, under new leadership, Fuente Mayor no longer provides superior service, cleanness and comfort declined too. However, I acknowledge the front desk and buffet personnel for their good service, I cannot say the same for the housekeeping staff.

Hotel was in a nice central location and staff were pleasant. Most helpful was Gonzale Seqouvia at the front desk who assisted us with booking and giving helpful advice around the area. Gonzale deserves the 5 STAR rating!!

Breakfast wasn’t as good as we’d expected and several things were broken in the bathroom. Also, in a room next to the stairs was noisy.

Very poor customer service. Zero response to messages sent prior to arrival. Promised bottle of wine was simply a promise broken. Rooms EXCEEDINGLY small. WAY better options for the prices they charge. Breakfast is ok but to serve Nescafé as coffee is a stretch.

Service at the front desk varied significantly; one person was very friendly, the woman when we arrived for check in was not. The main issue was with the floors for the room; they were disgusting. All hard floors and obviously not cleaned with any frequency. The amount of dirt on my feet was nasty after walking around in the room. Also, the items in the fridge aren’t free, but I didn’t see that posted anywhere in the room - let alone the prices. Next time I’d pay a little more to stay somewhere a bit nicer.

Loved the location. Hotel lobby smelled terrible... like car air freshener and the rooms werent clean at all (stepped on a toenail, sticky bathroom floors, no covers on the duvet, someone else's hair in the linen, dirty towels). Made me appreciate every other hotel/airbnb on this trip around Argentina.

We had largely pleasant stay. The breakfast was very good and although you were asked to book in for a 45 minute time slot, the staff still had difficulty keeping the buffet supplied. That meant that you could arrive and find there were no cleared tables nor was there food available if you didn't want something sweet. The swimming pool area was very nice and there were tables outside there where you could eat if the weather was pleasant. The staff spoke English and were helpful. The location is very good for walking and also is right close to the ticket office for the hop on hop off bus. If you have cash buy your tickets there. For us the major downside was that we had specifically chosen the 'Pay the Hotel' option in ******* when we booked only to discover that our credit card had been charged as soon as we booked. When we went down to pay the night before we were leaving (we had a early morning flight) we were told what had happened. We showed them the reservation booking that clearly said we were to pay at the hotel and they acknowledged that it was their mistake however, for reasons that we cannot understand it was apparently simply impossible for them to reverse the charges and let us pay in cash. This effectively doubled our cost of the stay because of the exchange rate system in Argentina. We contacted ******* and they were NO help and their site still says you can pay at the hotel. Buyer Beware. Two bottles of wine were not sufficient compensation for this mistake.
