******DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL******** PLEASE read all the negative reviews posted here before you book your stay. I did not spend time reading all the negative reviews here (which is a huge mistake on our end looking back), and I ended up having to double book another stay so that I could have a decent place to sleep and shower during my holidays in Mexico City. Pro: They did a fantastic job with the hotel/room decor. The room is beautiful as posted on their social media and it’s situated in a great location, and that’s the key reason that lured us to book the stay at the first place. Cons: 1. The wall is paper thin and the hotel is right ON the street: we’re assigned with the unit (RODIN). It is on the main floor right next to the main traffic street (Monterry) and a pedestrian sidewalk. Monterry is a busy street and passing ambulances and construction trucks are a constant. To make things worse, the room is situated 20 feet in front of the receptionist desk. It’s almost comical that when you speak with the receptionist on the phone, you would hear the response from the phone and also from outside the door simultaneously. It lacks no privacy and ear plugs would be required during the stay. 2. No hot water: My husband and I arrived at the hotel very early in the morning due to our flight. When I was going to take a shower after checking in, there was no hot water at all. They found out that the hot water boiler was turned off at night. 3 No water/water pressure issue with the bathroom sink: while I was waiting for the staff to figure out the hot water issue, I also noticed that there’s no water coming out of the bathroom sink whatsoever. After they resolved the issue, the water would explode every other second when you turned on the water and it sprayed everywhere in the room (the sink is situated in the room). 4 I did not notice an elevator on site, only tiny spiral staircases accessible from the main floor: I’m not even sure how one could bring the bigger checkin bags upstairs. We checked into the hotel around 6am and tried to catch some sleep until 10am when we’re woken up by the constant ambulance noises and traffic and also chatters from the street. We decided to look into another place to stay as the area will only get busier at night with the clubs nearby. We spoke with the receptionists to cancel the rest of the stay as this is not what we expect from a hotel that charges $93 USD per night. Motel 6 has better sound proof than this hotel. We requested refund for the rest of the stay as this is not acceptable for what they’re charging (or even listing as a hotel!!!). The management responded that it’s not hotel’s fault that the area is noisy and therefore they refused to refund the payment. Hotel is a place where we tourists pay in order to have a place to rest and recharge and the quality, not just the appearance, should reflect in the cost of the hotel stay. We ended up booking another stay with Hotel Galeria Plaza Reforma an
