Our experience was horrible our room had roaches . When I called to tell them I wasn’t staying in the room they gave us another room I asked to speak to management and they never showed face the front desk was very unprofessional . If you are handicapped or with special needs don’t stay here as the facility isn’t handicap friendly. Only area is the pool and that’s basically it the lift is full of bugs and webs . They have steps in all there designated areas . I was very disappointed and don’t recommend this place no management skills and they need to better train there employees when we asked security where a room was he said I don’t know it’s my first day how are you security and have no knowledge of the property this tells me someone didn’t train him. Very disappointing we had such high expectations of this place

We have been going to Gurney's every summer for years since we had our son's wedding there. Virginia, the wedding planner, is the heart and soul of the place and always makes it a point to check in with us even after all these years. We love Gurney's it is always a special and beautiful place to visit.

Very expensive Dirty Room. Marks all over the walls. Mold in the bathrooms. $1200 per night for a filthy room. I have stayed in motels nicer than room 542! I would not recommened staying at this place unless a filthy moldy room is your thing. Also their partial sea view rooms look directly at a parking lot, so beware when booking this hotel. It's such a shame we stayed here 3 years ago and had a very different experience. It's such a shame to see such a nice place to downhill so quickly!

Horrible experience by the manager. I called to change our reservation because my daughter got injured and they would not accommodate. charged us a full night didn’t offer credit. back and overall was very rude and greeedy I called and email to change the reservation and they ignored it

I absolutely loved the location of this resort, and it was my second time visiting. However, this was my first time staying overnight. I booked a two-bedroom suite on the second floor, which was located at the far end corner of the building. Unfortunately, I found that the structure and material of the floor were poorly constructed. We could hear every step from the floor above, and it was quite disruptive. Every morning, we were woken up between 6-7 am by kids walking, running, and jumping. We had to call the front desk to send security and issue them a warning. Furthermore, the AC and heat in our room were not functioning, resulting in a very cold night. The master bedroom doesn’t have HVAC vents so the report put a portable AC and run the hot exhaust pipe in between the sliding door, hotel use a wood stick to prevent anyone from entering into the room via the balcony. This was definitely not acceptable for a luxury resort. When I complained to the front desk staff, they were apologetic and informed me that they had been experiencing issues with the AC. As a temporary solution, they installed portable AC units in the rooms. I have included a picture for reference. On the other hand, the spa facility itself was wonderful, but I had a disappointing experience with the spa host. They were not friendly at all and did not make eye contact or greet me during the three days I was there. One aspect of the resort that I did enjoy was the beach service. The servers were always checking on the guests and providing great service. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the on-site restaurant, Scarpetta Beach. The quality and taste of the food were not up to par and definitely needs improvement. It was not a good enough experience for a luxury resort.

We just got back from celebrating our anniversary at Gurney’s. I’m giving the hotel 4 stars because it was beautiful, the beds were really comfortable and I couldnt hear any noise from the rooms next to us or above us. To me, those are the most important qualities of any hotel. Some things that could be improved: -I’m not sure why some hotels feel like they have to play club music at the pool and beach. Some people probably like feeling like they are at a party but I’m at the beach: I want to be able to hear the waves and relax. I know this is a personal preference -when we got to the beach in the morning, there were plates and empty bottles - just all kinds of trash from the day before. Closed umbrellas just laying all over the place. I’m not sure how hard it is for someone to clean this up when they get there in the morning- and we didn’t get to the beach all that early maybe 9:30am -we had a deluxe oceanfront studio. The noise from the hallway sounded like those people were actually in your room. Unfortunately for us it was a bunch of kids throwing those little firework things that crack when they hit the ground (that’s not the hotels fault) - we asked for late check out and were told no. Usually we can get an extra hour or so. I guess they had a lot of people checking in on an off season week? I don’t know if this can be improved but it’s not an accessible resort. We had to go up and down 4 huge steep flights of steps to get to our room from the lobby.
