Great little place 5 mins walk from Doctor Cave Beach. Lovely pool + pool bar. Simple good food at the restaurant, Clean simple room, shower in bath. Free parking. All round a good value for money choice.

Yes, one can locate a newer hotel with more amenities; however, S Hotel has everything needed to enjoy Jamaica within an easy commute. It is a Jamaican owned hotel staffed by locals. A wonderful selection of freshly prepared food and beverages were always available. Spa services were easily booked. Free and low-cost activities were available all day. There were very few service delays. While staff appreciated tips, one didn't feel obligated to carry cash. The hotel was safe for an all-girls' trip. We relaxed in the ocean, did water aerobics in the pool, attempted to learn Jamaican dance steps, learned about coffee and rum,...the experiences were varied and available. Go. Renew. Refresh.

This is a wonderful resort. The food and the service is great. Very professional staff. Very friendly and helpful. This is definitely one of my favorite resorts in Jamaica.

The hotel is on a beautiful well maintained property, the room was clean and spacious, staff were generally welcoming with exception for the odd 1 or 2 interactions. However major improvement is required for the checking in process, I stood for 45 minutes waiting to be checked in, this is my second visit, the 1st was long as well but not as long as this occasion. The customer service agent was apologetic and also gave us a bottle of wine for the delay. I found the food at the main buffet area was quite limited, pasta station had for protein only seafood mix, entertainment was next to non- existing, not much excitement on the beach or pool, sport bar is a no as well Overall it is a nice property, but not much to do within the property, it was good for relaxation.

In the first room, our shower was leaking from the drywall which also had water getting closer and closer to the light fixture, this was scary because the light fixture was next to the rainfall shower head. We had to request a room change and were accommodated, after that the new room had an upside-down light switch, another switch was barely functioning, and the lights in the shower were barely functioning probably 2 out of 8 were lit and the toilet room lighting was out and barely visible, the auto shade for the porch was not working properly and you'd have to close it until the auto function quit then you would have to get up and manually close the shade. Yes, I am complaining about a bunch of little things but if not taken care these can all become bigger issues.

An amazing place to stay. Attentive customer representatives, the place was immaculate, clean, and family friendly. The entertainment and entertainment host was top tier. I enjoyed how he got the crowd involved and let those be who didn’t want to participate in other activities. Actually, he was the highlight of my stay there. The food…ohhh the food. Great variety of Jamaican cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. That Ackee tho… I could eat that every day… I definitely plan to come back and stay…

Not the best experience at check in. Rooms were not ready for us and many other guests. No towels available before and after we went to the beach. The customer service however was awesome. The employees did their best to make us comfortable in the situation. The hotel itself was good. Food was ok. The beach was good. Be aware there is a cost for the chairs. Unfortunately we only got to use it for about an hour during our over night stay because it closed early and opened late.

We took a family and friend vacation in August 2024 - thirteen people, 6 adults and 7 children ranging from 5 yrs old to 11 yrs old. We stayed in the Rose Villas, and we loved how spacious they were. It was well-kept, extremely clean, and the perfect space for our large group. However, and this was definitely an issue for us in August, it's important to note that there is NO AC in any of the common spaces. There is AC in the bedrooms, but this was a big disappointment for us. We had booked a villa thinking that we could all spend time together after dinner, but with it being so hot, it was impossible to take advantage of the big, beautiful spaces that we did have. It was just too hot. There were also no air conditioned restaurants open that week that we were there. I understand it's the Caribbean, but having traveled to many islands you usually do have the option of at least one indoor restaurant. This was not the case here. Aside from that, we had a wonderful time. Our villa staff were absolutely the BEST we could have had. Ms. Joy (chef), Mr. Cassell (butler), Ms. Olive (housekeeper), and Kemar (pool attendant) did everything they could to make our trip absolutely amazing. Our kids loved the fresh coconuts that Kemar brought them every day, and my kids (who are very picky eaters) are still talking about Ms. Joy's food two months later and how much they loved it. Ms. Joy made us everything we asked for, although most days we asked her to make what she thought was best. We were surprised with some amazing Jamaican food and crazy amazing desserts that she made from scratch every day. I was especially touched because I mentioned to her that I always ate fried plantains growing up, and she made sure they were on the table at every dinner. Mr. Cassell's rum punches were fantastic, and Ms. Olive made sure that our rooms were spotless and that we had everything that we needed. Amazing! We were so sad to say goodbye to all of them. The resort itself is beautiful. We loved having golf carts to get to and from the main resort, and they provided bikes for the kids as well which was amazing. We spent most of our time at the Eclipse pool, which was absolutely beautiful. Some of the staff deserve special thanks, especially Toni Ann...”Toni, Toni, Toni!” She was absolutely incredible. Overall, it was a fantastic vacation. If you're looking for a typical all-inclusive, this is not the way to go as there was no true AI option available. However, if you're looking for a beautiful resort with very friendly people and a laid-back atmosphere, then this is the place for you.

This was our third time at Sandals (Negril and Nassau being the other 2). We’ve also stayed at Secrets Montego Bay. We are a couple around 50 years old. We are early risers and early to bed so we can’t speak to the night life. We went the week of Valentines so we knew it would be busy and likely at capacity. THE ARRIVAL: we always use Club Mobay VIP for quick entry through customs. As always it was money very well spent as we sped past the long customs lines. The only downside to moving so fast is we had a wait for our bags but our Mobay rep was great. SMB is a quick 10 minute ride from the airport. The downside is that, as everyone else says, the airport runway is literally the back yard at this resort. You hear the jets and they are very loud. But after a day or two you kind of get used to it. Another couple told us to make a drinking game out of it- and that actually did make it more fun. THE ROOM: our room was a beach front junior suite on the club level. It was very clean and nice. Our balcony had an amazing view of the ocean. Housekeeping was great but did tend to come later in the day, sometimes when we were ready to shower for dinner they hadn’t been yet. THE FOOD: it’s ok. We don’t expect 5 star cuisine at a resort that is feeding so many people. The buffets were good for breakfast and lunch. The pizza was really good! Our favorite restaurant was Tokyo Joes. Very flavorful and the staff was great. We couldn’t get a reservation at Butchs steakhouse when we arrived but the Club Concierge got us on the wait list and we did get in. It was all right. The appetizer potato balls were very good. The filet mignon was pretty chewy but the service was good. I’d say don’t sweat it if you don’t get a reservation. The Italian place has a great calamari and tiramisu and my husband loved the chicken parm, but some of the dishes have a very chef boyardee flavor. For me, that’s fine, but it’s not for everyone. The Irish pub had better appetizers than meals. THE BEACH AND POOLS: I thought everyone on here was exaggerating about the towel wars for chairs. They were not. I am very fair and had some minor skin cancer a few years ago. I’m very careful to use sunblock and wear a hat, but I also need a spot with shade during the day. We’re usually up and out by 6:30 am and all chairs were claimed by then. There seems to be a ton of butler rooms and they claim the best spots, which is understandable, but frustrating. So we had to get out there at 5:00 am to get any shady chairs reserved. We had a snafu one day where we reserved chairs on the beach at 5:00 am and the butlers just moved our stuff (not to another set of chairs but to a bar table) and set up their own. I was pretty upset about it, since we didn’t want to get up at 5 in the first place- but the staff was extremely helpful in finding us a new spot with shade.
