I booked this motel via trip.com, but during the check in they charged me an additional arbitrary $10 service fee, Despite showing the receipt that the service fee was already paid during the booking. However, trip.com reimbursed me with trip points. The room was small but clean and with coffee maker. The door lock was spooky and wouldn’t open time to time. That could be a problem if it happens during the night as nobody is there to help you.

Clean, comfortable bed, ready check in. AC did not work unfortunately and there wasn't an alarm clock in the room

Very sweet place. Prices can't be beat. Very clean and bed was comfortable. Also, plenty of space.

I've been staying at the Arbor Inn every year since 2021 during my solo motorcycle trips to Monterey, and it never disappoints. The clean, cozy rooms, especially those with fireplaces, are something I always look forward to. The location is perfect, close to Big Sur and Point Lobos Reserve, making it ideal for exploring the area. I appreciate the safe, secure parking and the quiet atmosphere. On my most recent trip, I brought my boyfriend, and we had a great stay together. Highly recommend!"

When I walked in the room, I was overwhelmed by the strong odor of disinfectant. I had to open the window, turn on the fan in the bathroom as well as the air conditioning. It took well over an hour for the smell to become bearable. I would rate the bed 3.5 out of 5 for comfort. It was not very firm. I don't know why but the pillows are less than standard size. The hotel is not in a location where it is convenient to walk to any historical places or the waterfront. You must use a car.

Lovely clean room and nice location. Woman on reception was very friendly and helpful. Ample parking was available. 4 of us stayed in 1 room which was a little tight but fine. I would recommend staying at this property if you are visiting Monterey

This could be a good place to stay. However, come the third night I could not have my trash taken out, my room cleaned, or clean towels. I went to the front desk twice to ask for my room to be serviced and for clean towels and the third day still no one has shown up. This could be a nice place to stay, but you will not get room service. With the absolute inflated price of hotels these days and no one bothers to clean rooms anymore or a return fee for their lack of service. You’re fine here if you do not need room services or clean towels.

I like quiet and out of the way. I had a large king room. Although a bit dark and outdated, the room was spotless, large, clean, and great towels. There is plenty of parking. Good sleeper and especially if you are watching prices. Well done Arbor Inn!

Very nice typical american hotel! only stayed one night but it was lovely & clean very good there was even a plug so we could have had a bath! would stay again short walk into Monteray which was lovely plenty of eateries. The only downside was too much light got into the room!

Nice clean place with friendly help. I would stay there again and would recommend it to my family and friends. It has a lot of charme, the rooms are great. You can make coffee in your room. Towels are plenty and clean. Bed is great. Shower is very good.

We (family of 5) had two rooms (one king, one 2x queen) for three nights in late March. The check-in process was quick and courteous. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and roomy. And while opening the curtains during the day let enough light in, the room felt a little dim at night. It was nice to have a small refrigerator and a coffee machine in the rooms. The 2x queen room also had a fireplace, which was nice to have when we needed clothes and shoes to dry after a wet afternoon of whale-watching. There is ample parking on-site, but know that you might want to get your spot earlier in the day if you have a large vehicle because some of the spots are on the small side. We really appreciated the convenience of being able to walk to downtown Monterey (Alvarado Street and vicinity in 10-15 minutes). It was also a short drive to the freeway, which was nice when we were checking out the surrounding area. The price point for all of these pluses is hard to beat in Monterey. If you are a late sleeper and don't want to be woken up by trash pickup (6:30 AM on the Wednesday and Friday of our stay), avoid rooms 115-117 and 215-217 because they are adjacent to the dumpsters.
