Having just returned from a birthday stay and read some of the other reviews i felt i had to leave a review ourselves. Like many others have said, the location is stunning, but the service and general 'feel' of the place is lacking. For the price point it really needs to be A+ service but falls far short, a lot of the simple things were poorly executed, or simply not thought about. - The management were informed of dietary requirements weeks in advance but treats left in the room had allergens in them. Not a massive issue, but again, its the small touches that make the difference when paying £300 a night. - There is clearly a staffing issue, we had our planned massage treatments cancelled 2 hours before due to staff sickness, can't be helped, but again left a sour taste. - Our evening food order was incorrect, but was dealt with swiftly. Perhaps the most disappointing thing however was the steam room being out of order, something that another reviewer reported over a month ago, this could have been explained to us on arrival, but we found out when we went to the pool. Issues like this could and should have been sorted swiftly, especially as we saw workmen around the spa throughout our stay. I will say the lady on reception (Caroline) was lovely and very apologetic, and we were offered compensation off our food bill, which was accepted, and reflected in the review score we've given. However that aside it is evident from the other reviews here, and our own experience, that long-standing issues exist with the management, service and staffing which lets down what could be a nice spa
