Large well equipped hotel. Excellent swimming pool with hot tub (ideal after a day out hiking!). Very conveniently located next to a shopping centre which includes a big supermarket. Friendly and helpful reception staff, and efficient cleaning staff. Good buffet breakfast. Car park under the hotel.

What a wonderful resort. The staff was the best. They were so helpful with all our needs and gave excellent advice, location, and the beauty of St Johann, and it's residents were beyond compare. The food, rooms, and amenities were superb. We don't typically return to the same place twice, but this place may be an exception

This was our 4th or 5th time here….needless to say it works perfectly for us. We are a retired couple in our 70’s that travel in Europe a lot from our home in southern Spain. The staff is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and helpful…always with a smile! This trip we stayed a week on the second floor, facing out toward the mountains. The balcony was perfect for morning coffee or a glass of wine at the end of the day. The facilities were as clean as ever! The laundry was across the hall, extremely useful before we headed to Munich for another week. We did the entire trip by train; landed at Munich airport, then direct train to St. Johann from Munich Hauptbahnhof. Much more relaxing to us than driving! Walkable to train station but down is much easier than up…LOL, taxis always available. We did day trips on the train to Salzburg and Bischofshofen. Spar market across the street for snacks, gruner vetliner (Austrian white wine ), etc. had dinner in their restaurant (schnitzel of course-was great), but also ate at some restaurants in St. Johann. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! To us it’s a very comfortable hotel, almost like coming home.

The hotel is located in the city center, close to the bus station (but if you arrive by train, be aware that there is a steep uphill walk ahead). The rooms are spacious and some of them have a small balcony with a view of the mountains. Everything is extremely clean. The staff is competent but rather strict. There are, however, a couple of painful bits to consider. 1) Breakfast offers a variety of foods, but they seem quite standardized, and they do not show any local touch. 2) The staff will knock on your door quite early in the morning to clean your room. The restaurant offers dishes of international cuisine, and the food is well prepared and fine served. The portions are regular, not abundant, and the prices are quite high. Remember to always reserve a table, even if you are a hotel guest!

Great hotel. Came to Austria on a solo trip and booked this place for a week with RCI. Lovely and accommodating staff. Easy access to trains. Breakfast buffet is sufficient and great value. Only complaint is that there aren’t much of any protein-rich plant-based options for breakfast. Some kiddie cups of vegan pudding, soy milk, and various seeds. I expected more given the high density of plant-based consumers in the region, but I’m more than confident that the hotel would have provided a solution had they been given prior notification. They do offer a slight discount on the breakfast buffet if you reserve it for the week. I did so, but regret it as it starts fairly late in the morning (7am) which doesn’t align well with the earlier trains to cities (Salzburg, Vienna, Munich, etc.). Definitely coming back! The views from the hotel are amazing.

Overall, we had a great visit at Alpenland St. Johann. All the staff were great, friendly and very helpful. We had a couple of meals in the hotel restaurant and they were very good. Our room was comfortable and clean. The one negative with our stay was the location of our room. We were right about the bar on the main floor, and because of the beautiful warm weather we kept our patio door open to sleep. The noise and cigarette smoke from the bar patio were unbearable. I would recommend for anyone staying here to try and avoid a room above the bar. Overall, we had a great visit.

Great hotel and super friendly staff. Good value for money. Which I could stay little longer. Perfect breakfast buffet, clean rooms. Nice area in city center. Even in not full winter season and already out of summer it was great to be there. Hotel has its own spacious parking too.

Overall, the hotel has potential, and most staff were friendly, but there are significant areas for improvement in customer service and operations. Firstly, they began work on the pool and hot tub the day after I arrived for a two-week course, yet charged €91 per week for amenities—what amenities are left? The spa had an unpleasant odor, and the gym was quite small. While the sauna was nice, I was surprised to find it was co-ed, which wasn’t what I expected. Additionally, I was charged for tap water, and when I requested water in the spa for our group, the receptionist mentioned there was no staff available. I asked for my food to be heated in the kitchen as there was no microware and I was told no. There was no staff after hours. When I asked to check out the night before my early flight, he initially said he couldn’t assist until I explained my situation. Lastly, I wouldn't recommend exchanging currency at the reception, as the rates were not favorable. The rooms and housekeeping were good, but the view was disappointing. For the price I paid and the long distance I traveled to get there, the experience didn't meet expectations, and there wasn't much to do.

We were very happy to find the place for the big family where the expectations of everyone were fulfilled . Our children were waiting for the swimming pool , my father - for the balcony , my mom - for the recreation area around the hotel, and for me was important to have a good food for the family. We took 2 rooms with additional sofa for kids. It was clean and well equipped with big wardrobes . One of the rooms was bigger and had more space . It was very nice when the sofa was folded and children had enough space to play. However it would be better to make family rooms with two separate rooms , especially wenn the price is so high. For one night we paid approximately 480€ (2 adults and 1 child). What else - it was great to seat in the evening in front of the fireplace playing chess or drinking tea. But it was unusual to find the kid’s room just in the near of reception on the ground floor . And it was not so tidy and attractive (only few pencils with paper, because my girls love drawing it was nothing for them to do there). All in all we were satisfied with our vacations because we were together with family and dog. And the food in restaurant was various every day. Thanks a lot for ladies on the reception who were very patient and friendly as well as for manager and waiters in the restaurant.
