A Parksville gem! We stay at Riverbend Resort every year with our 40' fifth wheel for 4-6 weeks. It is big rig friendly, has 30 and 50 amp full service RV sites and has the best swimming hole on the Englishman River! It is a great place for families vacationing together with many accommodation types to choose from, a nice field area for gatherings and/or games, a small playground and a 2 washer/2 dryer laundromat (cold water only). The river access is down a steep slope with stairs so it may not be accessible for some with mobility issues but once there it is sandy with deep pools for swimming, a moderate cliff for jumping and a gentle current. (If you like cliff jumping consider visiting Top Bridge Park, just down the road from Riverbend. It's awesome!) It's location is perfect as it is easily accessible from the highway, is just across the road from the entrance to Rathtrevor Provincial Park (You MUST go there!) and a short drive/bicycle ride/walk into the town of Parksville itself. Notes: 1). When you arrive and pull into the entrance of the resort it's a bit of a drive past the long term seasonal spots, yurts and cottages to the main cabin/registration building. Just follow the road, you'll know when you see it! 2) It is difficult to make a left out of Riverbend during busy traffic times so consider taking a right and then an immediate left into the log cabin store to do a U-turn if you want to go into Parksville.
